  1. Past hour
  2. Of course, Terry was responsible for hiring him. He was enamored with the erudite individual who was impressive in an interview setting. What was Krueger's philosophy? Taking a multi-talented player in Dahlin and then strait-jacking him so he wouldn't be able to exhibit his abundant talent? Krueger was talented in public speaking and less so coaching. This is another example where the inept owner was not self-aware enough to recognize his ineptitude. The right way to hire a HC and a GM is to seek out a lot of qualified voices and consider their viewpoints. That's not what this fool does. He believes that he is the best person to make the critical organizational hires. The owner's record speaks for itself. His stupendous arrogance has crushed this franchise and severely eroded a once vibrant fanbase. This self-made billionaire knows the energy business. When it comes to pro hockey he is a buffoon. I wish he would get on his big tax write-off boat and sail away.
  3. We gave up 0 goals and dominated play and physicality in the last 2 periods. Defense coverage from the defense and forwards was excellent. Easiest shutout I've seen in a long time. Didn't notice Doan, but honestly I didn't notice a lot of the Forwards. #15 and # 44 were noticeable. Kesselring was excellent (Power looked very comfortable with him), as was Byrum. Strange seeing the Sabres jam the front of the net (caused the first 2 goals). Have a gut feeling Geogiev (spelling) might be out game 1 starter. Early on, but he's now gone 4 period without allowing a goal. Georgiev has had 2 NHL season that has dwarfed anything Lyon and UPL has done. Maybe a smart signing by Adams??
  4. As @Flashsabre said, Doan did some nice things away from the puck and he helped clear the zone, maintain possession a couple times. Little things. But I think the Quinn-Kulich-Doan line looked the least impressive in terms of overall effort or possession. Kulich was solid as a forechecker. Neither good nor bad for one game. But definitely nothing that jumped out. No glaring mistakes though… which is very important for this team.
  5. Injuries will hit. Who knows how many games Greenway will play. There will be games this season where Dunne or Geertsen will get time on the 4th line. Danforth will be there, Krebs then Beck. Dunne and Geertsen will be fourth line callups
  6. LOOK OUT! 🤘
  7. Made a nice little play to find Kulich and pick up the secondary apple on Quinn’s goal.
  8. Doan made a lot of little plays that looked like nothing but help you win. Getting the puck out of the dzone. Going to the net. His game isn’t flashy but it helps win games.
  9. I heard his name once. To early to tell.
  10. Not able to see the game.....how did Doan look?
  11. One game obviously but if that is him I'd rather we had some of that jam on the fourth line than what we had last year. Not just because he can obviously "chuck 'em" but he was an immovable object screening on the Byram goal as well. Solid outing but no idea if they will go that way or not. History says no.
  12. 🎵 HELLS BELLS 🎵
  13. They must have some of the most incompetent engineers in the country for it to have taken that long
  14. It was nice to see our team’s grinders outwork the other team’s home outfit. Nothing fancy. I think Levi had to make the hardest save, but the goaltending was very solid. Patient. In position and square. Dare I say it… efficient, effective, and very very economical.
  15. Good effort tonight in the 2nd and 3rd period. I think Mrtka looked really solld for an 18 year old rookie. Kesselring looked good in his debut. I loved all the effort around the CBJ net. This is the way. I finally realized why I like Byram so much more than Power. Byram is aggressive and looks for opportunities (usually on offense, but he makes an effort on defense as well). Power just seems to let the game come to him.
  16. Interesting. There does seem to be a better focus on defense this year. At least with these players. Much better on the boards as well compared to last year. Georgiev didn't suck. Mrtka runs around too much but you can see the skill. With good coaching and development (?) he might be very good in a few years. Kesselring is tall but lankier than I thought and for his height kind of skinny. Skates well for a big guy but more Tyler Myers than Risto. Not exactly what I thought he was. Need to see more. Not impressed in any way with Doan. One preseason game obviously but if that's him, he's barely a roster player and definitely not a top 6. We may have been sold on some hype and name recognition here. That's all. Can't say I paid attention to everybody.
  17. I would have never guessed there'd be someone pushing for Peaches as a goal song, but this is something I could really get behind. Can you imagine 19000 fans doing the peaches chant?!?! Millions of peaches, Peaches for me. Millions of peaches, Peaches for free. Chills.
  18. only Pre-season, but playing with 1/3 or so of your NHL team, they played a really tough game tonight. Really dominated the last 2 periods. Kesselring stood out, as did Byrum
  19. The score means nothing. What does matter though is the way that the team played. Big and physical, drove the net, protected their crease. Boy a future of Kesserling and Mrtka patrolling the right side for the Sabres could be fun. I think Dunne is the guy that will get some chances this season. He brings everything Lindy wants. He will get some games in the 4th line at some point.
