I’m not doing all that, but predict we get the #1 wildcard spot. Yes I am.
-
Sure am - I watched the very first Jays game against the White Sox on tv in 1977 as a 13 year old. The Expos were my number one, but we know how that went. Go Jays!

Sabres to place Alexandar Georgiev on waivers today
Amerks8796 replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
I suppose they could mutually terminate his contract, but both parties would need to agree. And he's getting NHL money regardless. Would he get that in Europe, or in any other NHL organization? He should just come down, play well and parlay that into another NHL opportunity here or elsewhere. -
Funny, you mentioned that, I feel the exact same way because of the goalie situation. They have nobody to blame but themselves.

Dahlin, 2nd game of the season

They looked solid tonight. Playing a very very tight checking disciplined system that will give teams fits. Very reminiscent of how Germany over achieved at the Worlds under Sturm. Not sure if they can sustain it, but Swayman looks to be back so do not underestimate them either. I suspect a team that will win games they hold even or lead in early so you will want to score early and get a lead on them to make their system collapse.

Sabres Hire Brian Maas as New Broadcast Producer

Article on Sabres broadcast changes https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6700607/2025/10/08/sabres-meghan-chayka-tv-broadcast/ Some of the changes are simple. Fans might have noticed an overdue change to the broadcast in the preseason with shots on goals being part of the score bug. There will be other minor graphic tweaks. Bellas and Maas also want to give the broadcast more depth regarding analysis. They now have a contract with hockey analytics firm Stathletes, something no other team or regional broadcast has. That will allow them to include some more in-depth data in both their graphics and analysis in-game and during intermission. As part of that agreement, Meghan Chayka, one of the co-founders of Stathletes, will appear on 15 Sabres broadcasts this season during intermissions. Chayka has appeared on TSN and ESPN, but this will be her first regular spot on a team broadcast. -
Well I won't be posting goal memes for the first three games as I will actually be in Buffalo (West Seneca) visiting my mom. I won't be able to take in a game in person since I arrive Thursday evening and leave Monday morning.

Am I the only person who thinks it is a gigantic red flag that Levi cannot crack the starting goalie lineup with the garbage they have on the roster? I mean, UpL is out and he is STILL not one of our top 2?? What happened to this guy? Why have they not traded for a starting goalie? Give up prospects and 1st rounders for all I care…

Josh Doan is becoming one of my favorite players on the team. However, I don’t know much about Shane Doan. When the Sabres were good he was stashed away in a hockey desert and we never really played them. They also rarely ever made the playoffs

I'm not surprised by all these guys re-signing before the season starts, but they're all silly to not push for more cash. In the NFL, whichever QB is up next gets the best contract. No one cares that Mahomes (or Allen, because it's a Sabres board) is making less. Wait, make the GMs sweat, and get yourself some money. The cap is rising and the support players will still get paid. Tuch should absolutely do this to Adams. One of these guys is going to stick it out to UFA next July (Kempe?) and make near-Draisaitl money because they're the only one still standing.

More likely Hutton.

Yeah, just drop the left side of that panel off into the Potomac and they're good.

Can't speak for anyone else, but personally expect he's better than Georgiev. How much better? No data. And considering UPL is broken once again, and they seem adamant to have Levi be THE guy in Ra-cha-cha, they needed somebody better than Georgiev to pair with Lyon. But, hey, they're only 2 points out of 1st and have a game in hand. Hope springs eternal. Last year by the time they had the home opener they were 2 games under 0.500. Baby steps.
