clink Posted 15 hours ago Report Posted 15 hours ago 10 hours ago, Thorny said: As is the bit where I mentioned how Adams came upon the job - by firing a bunch of people even Botterill would rather *quit a rare and valued GM job for* than axe. It’s actually possible to have standards and gather the measure of a man. Or at least my opinion of such. Adams is a slime ball. The way he took the job was offensive. The way he conducts business is offensive. The way he speaks to the fans is condescending and belittling. He’s a fraud. “Yes man”? Try: enabler. Purely interested in promoting the strategy that levies him the most job security personally. Fostered THE worst environment player wise we’ve ever seen, as evidenced by the stick salute fiasco that was proof of the willing disenfranchisement of fans. He’s crafted a roster I despise due to his infecting presence. his presence alone tarnishes the crest to the point of it being unrecognizable to me. Swept in the first round? Who - Adams? Who cares. The sabres existed before him and will exist after. He’s not the Sabres. It’s time for him to say goodbye. Christ!!! 100% THIS! 👆👆👆👆 You hit the nail on EVERY head!!!! 1 1 Quote

That would create problems, factions, and confusion. He could possibly go back to Business Admin, or back to Harbor Center, but even that is awkward. No he cannot. Terry has proven that he'll listen to anybody in the building. This is exactly how Adams got the job, by having Terry's ear, and talking to him about things well outside of his role. Adams has to do, and frankly so does Forton. Quote
Mango Posted 11 hours ago Report Posted 11 hours ago 15 hours ago, PASabreFan said: If Adams is completely excised, what changes? Nothing, without a fundamental change in the owner. Here's the canary in the coal mine for me: not to go all TaroT, but who are the assistants going to be in this post-Doody nirvana? This! The rumors of Appert taking over post fire are really concerning. It's the same exact plan that was rumored with Adams. There is no need to move Lindy into the FO mid season and Appert has done nothing, at all, ever, in his career to deserve a shot as bench boss. Adams to HC is just like Forton to assistant coach. It's just Terry handing out favors to friends. 2 Quote
WatchedrookieGilP Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago Weird stuff alert… At the 11min 45sec mark in the postgame show, Paul Hamilton (not on this road trip) says when the tv cameras focused on Sabs bench, that to him at least, it appears Seth Appert is actually coaching the team, with Lindy standing behind him…these last 2 games. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sabres-hockey/id1142057803?i=1000740961549 Quote

PASabreFan Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago How does Fairburn know that Adams' contract status won't come into play? Here's a wild wrinkle. Just the idea Adams is about to be canned ignites the team, saving Adams' job. Remember how rumors of Terry buying the team accompanied the 2010-11 Sabres' implausible run to the playoffs? Quote
Brawndo Posted 3 hours ago Author Report Posted 3 hours ago From Chad DeDomincis latest article Quote Senior advisor Jarmo Kekalainen will likely take over as the general manager. Whether that is on a permanent or interim basis is something that I’ve been unable to confirm at this point. The former Columbus Blue Jackets general manager was planning to work out of Columbus for this season. In November, plans started to change. Kekalainen was on the road with the team and in Buffalo almost exclusively. Sources indicated that this was being done in an effort for him to get an understanding of the day-to-day operations with Ruff. It has been some time since he was reported on the scouting list in Columbus, where he was a constant in October and into early November. He has worked closely with associate general manager Jason Karmanos on scouting trips and getting up to speed on the workings of the organization outside of the offseason planning he was a part of. 1 Quote

You may not be aware of it but the mushrooms you are consuming are hallucinogenic. Your level of fantasy is beyond imagination. What will the owner do? I don't know what this aloof owner will do. What I do know is that a tail end three game winning streak against lesser opponents will not come close to offsetting KA's six-year dismal record. Quote

I imagine through conversations with sources either Fairburn or Tim Graham have. Based on the coverage that Tim Graham had of the Bills Sale to Pegula it would not surprise me if Terry was one of His Sources Quote

Mr. MVP Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago Kevyn did recently sell his Clarence house and moved. Don’t think that has anything to do with anything, but it’s semi surprising. Quote
Mr Peabody Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago If Chad is correct, KA is obviously a part of this and it would seem moving into another role within TPEGS organization. Quote

Do all of these guy report direct to Terry? I know Guelli does. Jarmo was supposed to be an Advisor to Adams. Ruff the HC but is he not under Adams? Going back to the LaFontaine days - I think Terry needs a class on organization development. Quote

But just imagine how big the falloff would be as soon as they learned he wasn’t being canned. They’d lose 30 games in a row. Just jettisoning his dark side ways will be such a boon to the franchise. The key will be getting a decision maker with a legitimate playoff vision and the respect of their fellow GMs. Quote

Archie Lee Posted 3 hours ago Report Posted 3 hours ago I would guess the coaching staff are not a part of this. It will simply be Adams reassigned and Jarmo to GM. It makes sense to do this soon as if Adams is essentially a lame duck, regardless of how many years he has on his contract, then it is time to move on as there are important decisions to be made (Tuch, RFAs). Jarmo will hire a new coach in the off-season. Quote

Terry P has structured the organization the way he wants it to be structured or more accurately unstructured. By creating this disorderly line of authority, he has more ability to dabble when he so desires. He's a third-rate owner and third-rate wannabe POHO. The sabotaging issue isn't that he doesn't know much about how to be a good NHL owner. It is that he's not aware enough to recognize what he doesn't know. That's the damaging trait that has hovered over this franchise since he bought it. Quote

You know the history better than me. Would Jason Karmanos and DeBoer have a (positive) history, given that DeBoar came up through Compuware and the Plymouth Whalers? Quote
