Sadly it did not gain traction and bring much needed shame and degradation to the Sabres franchise. I do wonder if Terry briefly clutched his pearls.

I highly doubt the comments have anything to do with it, but I also wouldn’t be surprised in the least bit if he wasn’t in good standing. Most players don’t air their dirty laundry publicly until they’ve already aired it privately. 

That kind of message might have worked in a different situation and in a different era. Maybe. But doing that to Lyon of all people at that point of time was plain dumb. If Lindy really pulled Lyon at that point in the game to send a message to the team, then maybe he is just too far out of touch when it comes to coaching a hockey team in this day and age?

They know what Lyon is.   He is a 1B/2, and they know they need to keep him fresh to get the most of out of him.  

They are still undecided between UPL and Ellis, or it might come down to which one makes a better trade?

After the loss to Utah made comments about accountability and earning everything. He’s since played less than a period in net. Maybe coincidence, maybe a message. 

Thanks for posting the article. Hadn’t read Lyon’s comments previously.

Always respected the guy, and have more respect for him now.

Exactly the message the Sabres needed, young players and a few vets as well.

Doubt his lack of playing time had much to do with him not playing recently.

Good to see him starting today.
