I'd rather see Ellis next game.

We've seen that Lyon can lose games exactly like UPL. I'd like to see us lose games some other way, or, heaven forbid, actually win one.

It starts with mgmt

It's so (cliche, yet) painfully obvious

$hit rolls down hill

Fix the head and....

Another Cliché: The fish rots from the head.

Lousy owner --> Incompetent GM --> Lousy coaches --> rotting sea bass on the ice.

The situation isn't improving until Terry gets a serious hockey person in here to run the org from the top down. Sadly, Terry has to pick that hockey person.

I just got home; watched without sound.

Well, we got almost everything we wanted to see of our Sabres.  SOG:  Doubled the Bruins.  Toughness?  Greenway and Krebs didn't put up with anything.  Strategy?  Fine.

The skaters did little wrong tonight.  They got goalied, and sometimes that happens.  And Lyon didn't have his strongest game, either (goals 2, 3, 4...) but that happens, too.

I'm not upset with this one.

Ellis or UPL on Saturday?

Ruff will go with UPL.  Personally, would go with Ellis.  UPL giving Ovie a hattie won't help anyone's psyche.  (Well, nobody in B&G at any rate.)

Lyon had a bad game, for sure, but I think he's the starter for now.  That said, give me more Conner Ellis anytime until the Sabres figure out who he is.

Don't be so sure about the guy who gave Miller his shot.

UPL will surely get us rolling in the wrong direction

They killed the PP.

So you have to give the coaching some credit there if you're also going to blame them for Dahlin blowing a tire, Tage being dumb, and Lyon not making a timely save.

The penalty carrying over was the reason the Sabres did not have a shot in OT, they had a 40-19 shots advantage in regulation.

The Big Guys are making mistakes and not making big plays in crunch time.

JEANNOT is a GD Bruin???

Maaaan, that's no good

Wasn't he the TB guy who ended Cozens?

Stillman.  (Probably already answered by somebody else.  Apologies if this answer was redundant.)

Just,… no. They did not get goalied. There was not a single save by the Boston net minder that was a "Wow!", or "Ugh"

He is no good to the Sabres if that’s the case.  If he isn’t right then he shouldn’t be playing at all.  Give him a leave of absence for the season and let him take care of her

Couldn’t agree more. If that’s what he needs to get his head straight, I’m all for it.

Yeah. Korpi faced a lot of shots but I don't recall many (if any?) saves that were particularly challenging.

We're 6 months away from another rebuild.

Hoping just a retool, not a rebuild.  Fix the coaching and upgrade about 4 roster spots and they can be good.

Did you happen to watch the first period?

The Sabres could have scored seven or eight tonight.  Korpisalo was out of his head amazing.

I’m not trying to spin a positive narrative.  Genuinely asking…did the Sabres get points in seven games out of eight at any time last season?

They won 8/9 at the end of March into early April.

Tage is 28 and never played a playoff game

Skinner was 32 before he got to one. He ended up having to play in 5... and in the offseason swiftly decided that the playoffs were not for him and signed in SJ.

They had 12 points in 7 games in February.

18 points in 10 games toward the end of last year.

Just about every year they have a streak or two as good (or better) than they have been on lately.

Sadly, they don't get the benefit of the doubt from fans (fair or not)

For the first time in years, they had built up some goodwill, had their barn getting semi loud and fans starting to pay just a little attention....

Then they lose 3 in a row in the conference. Us here, we are diehard, we post relentlessly, have mock trades and share analytics.... Even so, some of us are barely hanging one.... What do we think the casual fans are thinking here.

Something needs to flip soon or further risk of alienation is looming.

It was a problem

Whether or not he shot or passed, Benson needs to get that puck to the other 3 player in a way better position to score.  If the pass want there, shoot it at Korpisal’s left pad.  Let’s do ourselves a favor here.  Zach is young, he’ll learn but a tough lesson in the win column.

Outside of the first period, the sabres were throwing a lot of weak wristers at the net. Without traffic, they were worthless shots. I like how they skated ..but the shots were average
