Kiefer sherwood of the LW variety and 40 points which we don't need (though he shoots right)? I don't think he moves the needle at all (or very much anyway) and doesn't help us towards the playoffs. And you create another huge hole by trading Byram

I became enamored by his 460 hits last year.  Next closest was Olivier at 305.  Don’t follow Vancouver so could that be incorrect?  Regardless I agree we’d have a need at D but figured we could pick up a stay at home guy in the $2-$3M range.

Yeah I back of my judgment if he hit that much??

Why would Vegas do this?  Why not just wait a couple days and get him without having to give Toronto anything?  Will Mitch not sign unless he gets an 8 year deal?

My guess would be it could be a masterful manner of tampering legally.

If you request to trade for a UFA in a sign&trade you can talk to the player. He's said he won't do 8 years now so a trade isn't necessary.

So the draft is over. Is this the best configuration of our lineup right now barring more moves?

TBD Norris TNT

Zucker Kulich Tuch

Quinn McLeod Benson

Malenstyn Krebs Greenway

Dahlin Byram

Power Kesserling

JBD Timmons

UPL

Levi

No you’re forgetting josh doan - unless we trade for someone benson is on the 1st line and Doan on the 3rd

either way Doan us in that lineup somewhere likely 3rd line - they didn’t trade for him to sit him

If we dress a lineup where Bensin is in the first line the season is over before it begins.

That’s where he played at the end of last year and his numbers were great… Not that I don’t want to get an upgrade there but that’s who actually played the best

I wholly disagree with this. Benson on the left wing on a line with Thompson on RW, and Norris or Kulich at centre, will have one giant question mark,  and it won’t be Thompson or Benson.

Petterssons no trade kicks in Tuesday. Could we see a move today? I look at our centers and laugh.

Until we see otherwise, I think the safe money is that the Sabres will spend to an internal cap that comes in under $90 million.  I could be wrong and this is the year they go big.

It sounds like the Canucks are keeping Pettersson (unless there is news I’ve missed), but if he is available the Sabres could take a run. If the Sabres moved Byram and Norris in a Pettersson trade, they would still have room to add Robertson for futures. A top line of Pettersson centring Robertson and Thompson, would certainly change how the Sabres are viewed.

I'd be worried about his knee. He was one of the fastest players in the league 2 years ago and correspondingly was 100+ year player. Since the injury, hi tope end recorded speed has been pedestrian as has his scoring.  Plus his attitude was questioned several times by teammates. Feels like a Taylor Hall signing and at a cap hit of $11.6m for 5 more years, i pass.

I really can't imagine KA pulling off those kind of deals, especially in a compressed timeframe.

I agree. I'd love to find a way to get Robertson, though.
