inkman Posted Wednesday at 11:44 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 11:44 PM Rocket players cross checking, tackling, slashing, spearing, face washing. Amerks players just taking it. Dunne hit someone, and caused a would be turnover but he barely has AHL skill, so the puck just sat there until the Rocket player recovered from the hit and skated away with it. Quote

I know this because every time Evan does it, he has to apologize after Stevens admonishes him on air. I love Don Stevens. Quote

Derrico Posted Thursday at 01:40 AM Report Posted Thursday at 01:40 AM (edited) What an embarrassment. Coaching staff barely communicating with players during the game and during breaks in action. Our coaching staff looks dejected. What are we doing here? Edited Thursday at 04:13 PM by Derrico Quote

Turbo44 Posted Thursday at 01:57 AM Report Posted Thursday at 01:57 AM Well……Laval was the #1 team in the league…..so not a huge surprise. 1 Quote
Porous Five Hole Posted Thursday at 02:10 AM Report Posted Thursday at 02:10 AM 6 minutes ago, Turbo44 said: Well……Laval was the #1 team in the league…..so not a huge surprise. This is the correct answer. Laval is the better team. When the Amerks can matchup lines with last change at home, we saw two one goal games. But the Amerks need some puck luck or an otherworldly goaltending performance to beat Laval. The talent gap is noticeable. Quote
WhenWillItEnd66 Posted Thursday at 11:53 AM Report Posted Thursday at 11:53 AM The problem with this team is the problem with the organization. We are a bunch of boys playing against men. We are smaller skilled that cannot handle a physical forechecking game. This has been our team for 20 years. Look at the final 4 in the NHL playoffs. 3 of the 4 are heavier physical teams. The one that is not lost last night to Dallas. When this organization finally opens its eyes and can see we need to play big boy hockey, they will start winning again. 1 Quote

When this organization finally opens its eyes and can see we need to play big boy hockey, they will start winning again. There's a huge difference between AHL and NHL physicality. The Amerks would likely fit in at the NHL level (In that specific sense) The issue is that in the AHL playoffs, more often than not, the team that can mug the other one is more likely to win. Combine that with the AHL being a developmental league and you get the oddities we see most years. The AHL playoffs should reward the better team as a whole but is more often than not more inclined to the thug mentality teams. Laval seems like the better overall team since their vets are outperforming our vets but the leeway they get on calls is borderline criminal. 1 Quote
