The Bills signed Slay and Cut Ingram.  Ingram picked up by Houston.  Slay is now going to retire.  Bills now down a cornerback.

It’s not a loss. Ingram hasn’t dressed on game day in a month. His season stat line is five tackles. He couldn’t beat out Cam Lewis or Taron Johnson, and he’s never going to play over Max, Tre, or CB. 
 

It really is kind of a nothing burger.

But he knew the defensive system, coaches, teammates, etc.  I wasn’t super hyped with the claim as Slay has been sleighed on the reg this season but it’s another embarrassing PR slap to the face of the Bills org. Another notch in the because Buffalo bedpost.

With the way teams constantly turn over the last couple roster spots throughout the year, this is just more of the same. It’s a whole lot of nothing. He’ll, I would t be surprised if Ingram lasts one week in Houston and is right back on the waiver wire, then headed back to Buffalo.

No it wasn't. They claimed a guy on waivers and he refused to report. If they just wanted to open a spot they could have just waived Ingram without any claim.

I don’t agree. All due respect to the player who was claimed, but it really doesn’t matter who CB6 is on a roster. Usually that’s a practice squad guy anyway.

I just don’t understand why it is a PR nightmare. I forgot the Bills also have Dane Jackson again. None of these guys are any good today. Ingram could not get on the field this year and he will be 29 years old by opening day in 2026. It wasn’t and isn’t going to happen for him. He’s CB7 on the roster. 
 

I get what you’re saying, we lost something for nothing. I’m just saying it was like losing a crappy hard candy from grandma’s house you forgot was in your coat and now it’s even more stale. Old stale individually wrapped lemon drops. I don’t care what twitter or the heads think with their need to create content.

The problem is, you let go of a guy on your 53 roster for him, and then lose him, and the guy you released gets signed by another team.

Ok so we bring in a new CB7 from a future opponent’s practice squad. My point was that this is not a “PR Nightmare.” Again, the guy has been inactive for weeks.

I’m strictly talking about a high profile NFL player choosing to not want to come to Buffalo.  How many times have we seen it? I think he stinks and don’t really care about what players comprise CBs 6-9.
