23

23 it is! I'll unveil the other. It's 24 (Tyson Strachan wore it last)

15 - worn by a current player

4 - worn by a current player

17 - worn by an outgoing UFA

23 - worn by a current player (worn by most players in team history)

24 - last worn in 2015 by a player who is not currently in the NHL

21 will join the tie and add another number to this list once Okposo wears it this season officially.

And as the clock strikes midnight, we have 89 more days to wait. 717c8575ee16bd489dd0ec9386126993.jpg

As a Floridian, I started watching the Sabres because my mom was from Buffalo and I wasn't that big a fan of the Florida teams. The first season I watched the Sabres, Alexander had his 76goal season. From there he quickly became my all time favorite player and the Sabres became my team for life.

I've always been big on bringing back the royal, but it's worth noting the whites will never achieve that look again. The shoulders aren't stitched like they used to be so the long, skinny blue shoulder wouldn't be the same which, to me, is what gives the old whites the great look.

Still want them to get to a modern version of the royals.

Haha! Hoss, on top of it, as per usual!

It's pretty interesting to see the exact moment from the broadcast that the photo happened, too.

Conacher has the puck on the heel of his stick, Oduya has his stick extended near Crawford's right pad, Stafford has his neck turned to the right and Sharp to the left, Handzus has his stick lazily hovering out to his left, Crawford is looking down at the puck ready to make a move.

He is magnificent.
