Nobody below them but there are multiple teams above them that might.

Vermette likely garners a first. Some of the Leafs young guys might if they go that route. Sekera might.

Right, but when the teams above them trade their pick, it isn't one which will have a small percentage shot at McDavid, which I thought was the purpose of the current discussion. Maybe I'm over-reading on that one though.

Draft stuff: Mitch Marner has his 38th goal and 99th point of the year in game #50 to give London a 1-0 lead on Saginaw. Special talent

Draft stuff: That McDavid kid has 1+1 early on as Erie leads Mississauga 3-0 in 1st. 30 goals/34 games, pts in 19 straight (and 33/34 gms)

Still love Meier, DeBrusk, Svechnikov but now Im looking at Bracco as a late 1st. Small but has termendous skill. Could fit nicely in a couple of years with Eichel or Reinhart as his center.

I'd be surprised if GMTM deviated from his plan. He seems pretty hell bent on making this team huge.

I wanted to see how internet sources did last year. I realize there's a difference between a ranking and a mock, but this is all I could find that was more than 30 deep. This is http://www.draftsite.com/nhl/mock-draft/2014/

If you take the highest available player on their board, the Sabres would have taken:

2 Bennett

31 Barbashev

44 Roland McKeown

49 Jack Dougherty

61 Justin Kirkland

74 Aaron Irving

121 Dyson Mayo

151 Nikita Serebryakov

181 Spencer Watson

a very similar list from http://thehockeywriters.com/2014-nhl-mock-draft-three-round-final-edition/

2 Draisaitl

31 Barbashev

44 McKeown

49 Dougherty

61 Sebastian Aho

74 Anton Karlsson

121 Dyson Mayo

151 Spencer Watson

181 Emil Johansson

If anyone has a copy of mckeens or any of the others, I would appreciate it.  The css is divided into NA and EU, which makes it rather useless.

Crusader, I've been running a nightly magic number list in the Carrion thread. It doesn't have net change but it's ordered from lowest to highest magic number.

Thanks, saw it after I posted.

I figure if Sabres keep the same pace - 3 points per 5 games played and unless Edmonton completely collapses we should clinch with about 5 games to go in the season.

Looking for a combination of 22 Sabres losses and Edmonton wins over last 25 games.

Next 5 Buffalo - Philly, NYR, Nash, Columbus, Vancouver

Next 5 Edmonton - Boston, Minny, Anheim, Minny, St.Louis

The interview was pretty bland; just a standard sports interview.

Only thing of note, when asked about his being a fan of Toronto and if it would be hard to switch allegiances it was a pretty resounding no. Not major, but still good to hear.

He will watch the draft lottery too, which has got to be a really weird event for him.
