Scuttlebutt from where? I could see it but we have zero depth on defense and he seems like he'd be worth a look even if he only ever ends up helping the Amerks.

Nick Suzuki and Cody Glass both have an ungodly number of points in the CHL this year. (Glass is at 94 in the WHL.) I could see them finding their way into the first half of the 1st round. Watching the Sabres all season, along with what Marner is doing for the Leafs, makes me wish we had a super-skilled speedster to put with Jack. We need someone that can keep up with him and actually set him up for chances because his shot is lethal. Reinhart is skilled but not super fast and Kane is fast but doesn't do a great job setting Jack up. Maybe Suzuki is our Marner?

I'm hoping the Sabres sign Florentino 1 minute after Providence is eliminated.

Expansion Draft -- Sabres moves and speculation
Robviously replied to SabresBaltimore's topic in The Aud Club
It's a really simple solve -- trade them a draft pick (or a player) if they agree to take Bogosian off our books in the expansion draft. It'd require admitting that we made a mistake bringing him in but that's not a contract we can have on the books if we want to re-sign Kane and our RFAs. -
It's a specious point at best. As WC just pointed out, we're getting outshot horribly. And when something goes right, it could be *in spite of* the system. Guys could also be trying hard for themselves or each other -- it doesn't have to be a sign that they believe in the coach. Sometimes people give a good effort even if they don't like their boss. If literally EVERYTHING were going wrong, Harrington would probably be saying that it's proof the team is so bad that no coach could help them. We're talking about a newspaper writer that is so upset about the tank that he literally tweets about it every day on Twitter two years later.

Expansion Draft -- Sabres moves and speculation
Robviously replied to SabresBaltimore's topic in The Aud Club
Tough to imagine anyone wanting him here next year, let alone protected for expansion. Further, I want him gone for his own sake too. It's going to be really tough for him to turn things around at all, but I think it'll be impossible without a fresh start somewhere. -
Read my post at the top of this page.

How's his skating? FWIW, I think Hischier is also my pick if we magically win the lottery this year.
-
I just think he's shot, and he needs a new start somewhere for any chance to turn things around. It's not going to happen here.

Reveal? What do you want to call it? -
Really fun win. Now I'm hoping Nilsson is back next year. Plus, nice to see a sign of life from Zemgus.
-
That's a thing that happened.
-
I'd start by offering a 4th but I like where your head is at.

Three more years of this garbage at $5.5M per season, folks.
-
Nice of Bogo to stop that potential odd man rush for us.

These Ducks uniforms are baller.

If you're including the word "massively" it's tough to dispute you. But he did overpay and he did goof because there are already a few players taken right after that pick that teams would never trade us for Lehner -- and they're players we could use right now. Also, if the price was the price because of a bidding war, that's not a good reason to make a trade. If the Oilers drove the price too high by offering the 33rd pick, we should have just walked away. Teams regret winning bidding wars as often as they are happy they won them. Lehner's fine. He's not terrible, but he's not so special that he's a critical part of the team moving forward. He'll get a bridge deal and the team will take another 2-3 years to see if he's really their guy for a Cup run someday.

Movies / TV Shows - I Have Watched / Plan To Watch
Robviously replied to Sabres Fan in NS's topic in The Aud Club
That's where I'd rank it: Really good. I think it may have been overhyped for me by the time I saw it today. Definitely a well-made thriller but I figured out the twist about halfway through. Liked Logan a little better and John Wick 2 is still my favorite movie this year based on its flawless second half. -
Nooooooooo.

Pu was 3rd round. Estephan was 6th the year before. Both guys having great seasons but a little below what Nick Baptiste did the year after he was drafted (for comparison). Our 2015 and 2016 drafts seem promising. Our 2014 draft is basically a mess.
-
No, but like Flagg says, he will get another chance this summer and the expansion draft should give him an opportunity to fix things.
-
There were a few of us on the board that were crazy about Forsberg that year and I remember being crushed when Washington took him right before us. (And then again when they traded him to Nashville for basically nothing and we weren't in on that.) The board also wanted Nichushkin over Risto in 2013 so sometimes we're way off with this stuff too.

Fedun is good.

I'm good trading them a draft pick if they agree to take Bogo away. Is that not good?
