  1. Yep. He had some insane long streak back in 2010.
  2. Stealing ideas from Flagg, North Buffalo, and Wildcard that I all like: 1. Win the lottery and draft Hischier no.1 overall. The perfect player to pair with Eichel. 2. Trade up for Juuso Valimaki since he's exactly what we need on defense. It's not like we need two 2nds and two 3rds in a weak draft. 3. Trade our first for a defenseman that helps immediately. Also, from the mock drafts, I'm seeing a handful of Finnish defensemen sprinkled throughout the 1st round that all sound pretty interesting. We could try to keep our first and then trade to get back into the first round after and get two of them. We have probably the best Finnish defenseman in the world so it couldn't hurt to bring in a couple guys that can learn from him. One other thing: I hope we use the draft to trade a few guys away. We have Bailey, Baptiste, Carrier (if he can recover from his injury), and Rodrigues all on the way next year and maybe Fasching too (and Nylander, who knows?). Can we clear out some more forwards that really aren't part of the plan moving forward? Girgensons, Ennis, Moulson, Larsson, etc. -- let's just keep moving farther away from the Tank roster. New players, fresh start.
  3. Definitely hoping it's the last time he does anything that stupid, but kinda sorta liking that he has a temper.
  4. I don't even think they're terrible owners. They just don't know how to build a winner. They trust the wrong people. Terrible owners wouldn't invest in the arena, or the city. They wouldn't spend money to the cap trying to build a winner. I do think they care about the fans but they have no idea how to give them the one thing they need.
  5. Rinks and a hotel over a donut shop is literally the most progress in Buffalo's waterfront maybe ever. It's the most progress downtown since we finished building the Marine Midland Arena 20 years ago. It's still super rare to see cranes building something in this city. Oh, and the Bills didn't move to Toronto or LA because of them. I guess that's also not worth being thankful for? Everyone please get a grip. Despite the fact that a couple new buildings went up downtown, Buffalo is still an insanely poor city . The Pegulas investing in it is a good thing.
  6. Goodnight. I hope that by the time you wake up, the Sabres have made you a job offer.
  7. Welp. You are 100% completely right and I was wrong. We have a better defense than we did two years ago when we were trying to lose. We're still terrible, but better than two years ago. I guess that's something? It's barely worth caring about right now. I do feel completely terrible that you spent so much time putting this together on a Sunday night. I was mostly venting and I'm honestly not even surprised I was wrong. Hopefully the rest of your night is better than this, my friend.
  8. They don't, though. It's not like our ticket prices are super high. Anyway, it's tough for me to see any way the Pegulas have been bad for the city. They aren't good at owning winning teams but it's not really the type of job you can prepare for so they're learning as they go. I'm hoping they get better. (Soon.)
  9. Blues Brothers is phenomenal. The music is awesome and all the jokes hold up.
  10. Think they just had him pegged as BPA. He might still be. We'll know a lot more in 3 years and maybe he's the winger we need to skate with Eichel.
  11. He might already be. He's our most dynamic player since Hasek. Imagine if we ever get someone who can set him up the way he sets everyone else up every game. Reinhard is a start but we need way more of that because he should be scoring 40 goals a year with his shot.
  12. Two years ago we were dead last in the NHL in shots allowed and right now we're....dead last in the NHL in shots allowed (after adding ROR, Eichel, etc., up front). And as bad as our defense was back in the day, they did chip in a goal every now and then. Tell me again how hilariously wrong I am.
  13. Watch the games indeed. Eichel does things no one else on the roster can do. No one else on the team is remotely close to his ability to gain the zone in the rush. He can create plays to set people up and he has the best shot on the team. It's really, really not close who our best player is.
  14. Sorry, I know everyone's emotional because the hockey team is bad, but how did the Pegulas screw Buffalo again? Our waterfront looked like a demilitarized zone a few years back before they showed up.
  15. The defense managed to get worse since the Tank. Really incredible.
  16. Eichel has been our best player by a mile the past month.
  17. He's also terrible at his job so what does that tell you?
  18. Give them time. They'll top this. Probably this season.
  19. You just know Bylsma spent the entire 2nd intermission scribbling things onto 37 different white boards and that it's going to result in us losing by 2 goals, right?
  20. "But he doesn't score enough goals!!!" I also liked when he cited giveaways as proof that Risto wasn't performing.
  21. Jack Eichel with a goal. Somewhere, Mike Harrington is screaming into a mirror with tears streaming down his face.
  22. Maybe we shouldn't have destroyed our defense the last couple years?
  23. Yep, getting this over with a couple hours early.
  24. Sat down to watch the game and immediately found out that it's blacked out thanks to the awesome NHL Network (that no one has). To WGR550.com for the next 3 hours, I guess.
  25. Not sure how he can ever be our longterm solution for No.1 goalie with all the points we'd be forfeiting in the SO. I think when we all envisioned the Sabres someday contending again, it'd come with winning the division and having home-ice in the playoffs. Not sure how that happens if we're losing every SO.
