The silver outlines in the logo (i.e. around literally every element in the logo) look especially egregious when it's shrunk down. -
Expansion draft and league-wide wheeling and dealing

Our defense in Rochester was the AHL equivalent of our NHL defense in Buffalo last year. He was no.1 in the league in shots faced so I'm guessing that had something to do with it. It's not a sexy answer but I think he just passes the eye test when we'e seen him in Buffalo. At worst he's a capable back-up but I'd like to see what he can do. -

Kathryn Tappen's cleavage just won all the awards as far as I'm concerned. -

I really didn't like their logo when it came out. The "V" in the negative space is great but the helmet seems too long and has no interesting details to it. It doesn't look like a hockey crest; it looks like something that was designed to be shrunk down and put on hats and t-shirts (which it probably is). That said, I like the jerseys more than I thought I would. Really like that the primary color is steel gray and not black, and there's some really interesting detailing in the crest in the black area around the helmet and also in the gold parts of the sleeves. (Check out some of the zoomed in, higher-res shots online.) The colors look pretty good if you see pictures where everything isn't under the weird spotlights from the events last night. I'm cautiously optimistic that these will look pretty cool in person and hopefully on TV as well. EDIT: Some good pics here of what I'm talking about: http://www.cbssports.com/nhl/news/look-vegas-golden-knights-unveil-jerseys-for-franchises-inaugural-nhl-season/ -

That jersey is a work of art. And for anyone who wonders why I'm always freaking out about this stuff (other than it ties to my job), look how clean and strong our logo looks without all the unnecessary outlining. It's beautiful even in the navy blue. -

Summer of 2006 I decided I would never buy anything with the slug on it. I never did. I also ended up never buying a jersey again. I have a royal blue CCM hat from two Christmases ago and a couple t-shirts, and that's about it. It's been 11 years... -

Literally can't believe how bad these look with the super thin silver and blue stripes on the sleeves and waist. How do they keep F***ing this up? But, don't worry fans, we're just *THREE YEARS AWAY* from fixing our uniforms for the 50th anniversary. Hang in there!!! <_< -

This actually is progress, and makes me wonder what the stripes on the blue uniform will look like. And are we finally rid of the armpit stains? -
All of this makes sense.

What's the over/under on players that LV take in the expansion draft and then trade this summer before the season begins? Looks like there will be a lot of guys the other 30 teams would want, and we know LV wants draft picks. If I'm them, I'm taking as many good, young, cap-friendly guys I can and then flipping them for draft picks and enough bad contracts to get to the cap floor. -

First reaction is that Carrier will be on his way out. Only reason I can think we didn't protect him over Ennis is that we worked something out with LV. -
Epic.

And Howie Long! -
If they do this right, they'll get some of those picks for drafts other than this one.

This is interesting. Would the Sabres protect 8 skaters in hopes LV takes someone else instead of Ullmark? Or would we just do 7-3-1 and trade them another pick if they agree to pick anyone other than Ullmark? (This is partially me valuing Ullmark and partially because I don't like imagining the Sabres with zero goaltending depth.)
-
Note to the Sabres: Literally everyone looks better in bright blue versus midnight blue.
-
Correct, but there's always a chance to buy low on *someone*. Regier didn't give up a ton to get guys like Briere and Lydman, for example. GMTM's MO was to give up whatever it took to get players he was in love with. The result was we finished 5th last in the NHL last season. I'd prefer to keep Beaulieu of the two, but I'd rather protect them both.
