Sabres are getting handily outshot 5v5, including high danger corsi for/against, and it's evidenced in 5v5 goals: BOS SF-SA 27-23, HDCF-HDCA 5-6, GF-GA 0-2 NYR SF-SA 19-30, HDCF-HDCA 5-9, GF-GA 0-1 VGK SF-SA 15-25, HDCF-HDCA 5-8, GF-GA 3-2 Total so far: 61-78, 15-23, 3-5 (CF% 44.2, HDCF% 39.4, 5v5 GF 32.5%) It's early yet, but the wins like this are unsustainable. And if they are sustainable, Hutton will win a Vezina and Eichel will win a Hart using only the PP.

FWIW, now here's Ron: https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/william-nylander-maple-leafs-camps-standing-firm-negotiations/

My fault. I can't read anymore. That was his '17-'18 salary.

He makes $894k this year, of which Sabres only have to pay for game after the trade (presumably near the deadline = 21 games/82 x $894K ~ $229k).

Pominville and Moulson's cap hit is $9.575M and will be off the books next year, minus whatever smaller amount we might offer Pominville to stay on.

GDT NY Rangers vs Buffalo Sabres at KBC 7pm ET MSG TV and WGR 550 AM

That's too wide of a margin, for just about any normal shot map. We were outplayed by the Rangers, with exceptions to the PP and Hutton. Yeah. Not good. -

Anybody else getting a ridiculous amount of bass audio during Carubba Collision commercials? -
Lehner: Isles are "like being part of a real team"
IKnowPhysics replied to WildCard's topic in The Aud Club
Lehner eats ranch. -
The organ player was given a real organ instead of a keyboard. That's a nice thing.

Haa, a twitter handle just to trash the arena food, etc. Love it. Hopefully you'll be followed by someone in the organization that can make a difference.

Phil Housley's Future as Sabres Head Coach
IKnowPhysics replied to Kruppstahl's topic in The Aud Club
You can't slap together a brand new 50% of a roster in one off season and expect instant results. Housley will be given at least the full season unless some unfathomable trainwreck occurs, like starting 6-35 or something. Then he might be sacrificed just to wake up the players. Note that only one of 45 voters so far actually voted for gone by the end of the trip. This board never sees that level on consensus on anything. -

And it's the fault of the organist. -PA, probably

Who will score the Sabres' first goal this season?
IKnowPhysics replied to Randall Flagg's topic in The Aud Club
If you viewed the poll results before voting and registered a null vote, CONGRATULATIONS, YOU'RE A WINNER! -
I'm a bottle of wine deep, and this caused the loss. Fight me.

Dahlin was solidly our 2nd or 3rd best defenseman. Couple minor minor flubs in his decisions, but definitely poise and skill. Can't wait to watch him continue his growth.

Lurkers, get your entries in by noon EST Friday. Folks that have already posted, if you edit your entry after the time of this post, post below this that you have edited it. I'ma tabulate the entries, dick around with stats, then post the results so it's easier to compare and make fun of each other for being ridiculous.

Beaulieu and Nelson, with Tennyson sitting. Interesting. Housley's keeping an open mind, which is good, because, while metrics from last year suggested Beaulieu-Tennyson, Nelson is better than Tennyson.

I remember reading that line in the article and knowing that PA would start a thread about it. Predictable trash. Rick will have this job for as long as he wants it. My only hope is that Rick gets to call a Sabres win in the last game of the season before it's too late.

I prefer to think it's the other way around. Eichel is be a leader on and off the ice- he is/will be an elite captain in the modern NHL, so that's why he's $10M and signed the longest on the team.

How well have we addressed our team speed issue?
IKnowPhysics replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
Yeah, I don't know how people forget that NHL players like Hal Gill and Derian Hatcher existed.
