  1. For the first 2/3 of my life, I had the mentality that adversity experienced by Buffalo fans would only make victory sweeter. Then I left the area and started paying closer attention to other sports organizations. I'm sorry, I don't know why it is what it is....but the Bills and Sabres are A$$ backwards. While other franchises breed success, we breed complacency. I'll never stop being a fan but I don't expect a championship, ever. I completely understand Rickshaw and don't fault him for his disgust. EDIT: I don't mean that leaving woke me up. I just paid closer attention to Buffalo sports because I wasn't local anymore. That paired with living in the vicinity of a collegiate powerhouse and other sports franchises, and the same old crap from home, made it painfully apparent the dysfunction.
  2. I didnt hear bigger player, I thought they were looking for a productive one and a solide prospect. It's not going to be cheap whatever it is.
  3. A pretty good match, should be off the hook at Old Trafford. We're entering the best time of year for football.
  4. Thoughts are with you and your family. No right answer to this, just what's right for those involved. I hope the process is smooth and that you have a wonderful wedding day regardless of the choice.
  5. Hell, I'll drive Ennis to the airport. There's more here than just numbers.
  6. Gaustad's was on the outside of the leg (different tendon) Pommers was the Achilles I believe. Tallinder suffered a lacerated lower leg a few years back, as well. Say what you will, the way Cooke brought his leg up was fishy. As Alphie said, why bring your leg up like that?
  7. Yes. I really thought they were trying to change the core, in reality the core is a stagnant philosophy interacting with subpar players to produce, well.... crap. Putting a "toughness" bandaid was never going to fix anything. I would much rather see more losing (shudder), bottoming out and starting over this offseason. I don't think anything could depress me more than the 2001-2012 Buffalo Bills. Sabres always kept my spirits up. Alas, I slip deeper into the abyss of despair.
  8. Not that I want to get into religion, but I'm thinking that his health has to be deteriorating rapidly to do this right before Easter. Anyway....back to Ruff.....
  9. It'll end with the AleSmith and Cigar City brewmasters (pictured below) being caught in the crossfire of a tragic pale ale rivalry. So sad.
  10. Isnt it more than the amount of hops but also the type? I thought East coast use English hops where as WCIPAs use Cascade, Chinook, Centennial, etc...
  11. Layman in this area, but I'm wondering how this is legal. Isn't access required for corporations receiving antitrust exemption? I seem to remember fans being allowed to sue over access violations with cable/Internet sports packages. Again, not my area.
  12. This reminded me of a blog entry I read about West Coast Vs American IPA. Not much substance in the main article but good discussion amongst the replies. Mainly: "1) no caramel malts 2) unbalanced (really, no desire to be balanced), leaning heavily toward hops, both of these contributing to 3) a drier ipa than non-wcipas." Full article- http://beervana.blogspot.com/2012/01/what-is-this-mysterious-ipa-of-which.html?m=1
  13. Though my bourbon friends here will vehemently disagree, the only whisky is scotch. Corns for eating, barley's for drinking. Funny response, I especially enjoyed the temperature part. As for MM, I think it's smooth already and lowering the proof would adversly change taste. But if what Weave says is true about JD and consumer survey failed to find a difference, I doubt I could tell either.
  14. Ha ha i know the guy with the porno smile at the beginning of the commercial. That commercial is from around 1997.
  15. My hatred for Marchand is unmeasurable. I don't wish ill will on anyone. Except that douche
  16. Interesting that you point out "per game" stats. That 's great, and I'm not discounting that he's the best when he's on the ice. Herein lies the problem. He hasn't had a full season in 3 years. In contrast, Stamkos hasn't missed a game in 3 years. And comparing the two since 2009: Crosby- 156 games, 96G, 133A, 229Pts Stamkos- 256 games, 163G, 137A, 300Pts I never discounted that Crosby is the best. I'm saying that, all things considered and attempting to predict future worth, I'm taking Stamkos for my team. One more concussion and you may get your wish.
  17. 30 games are in the past, what has it done to his longevity? Not like it's musculoskeletal. Stamkos could improve in FO%, but he's around Malkin and was better than Crosby last year. Considering that he's got the same production as Crosby, hit the 50G twice already, is younger and doesn't have the injury risk, I would take him as my No. 1.
  18. I'll take "1a with less mileage and injury risk" for $1000 Alex.
  19. What I'm saying is that he's a columnist, not a reporter. As such, he's going to stir the pot, inject emotion, tow the line on fact. If that's not your cup of tea, fine. But it sells, hence the polarizing discussion on message boards and bad TV and radio shows. It may be considered a gossip column, and yes some may consider it yellow journalism. But I don't because I invest less into it being reporting and more being opinion. What I meant by it not making him wrong is that I think many of his points are valid. But that MY opinion.
