    Goo Goo Dolls

Remember seeing them at the Continental in the early 90s before Superstar. Always a place in my heart for the hometown boys. Good for them.
  2. I agree, you are a poet. Excited to try Live. As for me, it's a little bit of a blur and my palate went to the birds with mass consumption. Started off with Hoptical Illusion, then changed up to Cigar City Patio Tools Dry Stout. Finished with Sweetwater 420. Then, thought it would be a good idea to get 5 for home - Blue Point Toxic Sludge Black IPA, Red Brick Hoplanta, Acme California, Great Divide Titan, and a Sculpin. In a haze had a Sam Adams Belgian Session and Porch Rocker that the wife bought for Easter. Again, hazy on the reviews but I Patio Tools is too light for the cigar finish. If it was bolder, I'd be a fan. Toxic Sludge was bitter and confusing. I loved Acme, first time I had it. I need to start writing things down.
  3. Pulling into the beer bar for happy hour as we speak. I've got chills.
  4. Did you get it? I'm in the same boat as I'm in FL, so doubtful they have any either. We'll see...
  5. Damn, Pittsburgh. Well you know what they say, at least it ain't Boston. At least that's what I say.
  6. It still amazes me the level of outward racism in Euro and African football. It seems as if we are more capable of separating game from societal/political conflict. Then again, we've had less bloodshed on our soil and we're a younger, more diverse country.
  7. Funny. I always thought Molson Export (an old friend) was stronger than our domestics, but only by a hair. I think their Boneshaker is around 7% so we probably have them in crafts but I know little about Canadian IPAs. Which brings us to our next discussion, what have you tried from up north? Alexander Keith's doesn't count.
  8. Who here has had Ballast Point Sculpin IPA? I tempered may expectations only because of the hype behind this beer but I have to say it lives up to it's 100 rating.
  9. Big win for the US v. CR. also huge the Mexico drew. Shaping up to be good for the home boys.
  10. Ha ha so true. But curse you for putting Big Bird in my head for the remainder of the day.
  11. I may be unfairly grouping his latest mistake with the rest of his work. However, he's certainly not balanced in social media. More erratic, defensive, sophomoric.
  12. Perhaps. But I look at guys like Peter King. While some may argue, I think he's pretty good at his job. Yet he brings forth self-deprecating humor when he's beat on in social media. Doesn't get defensive, will take a jab now and then but most of all he's low key. He also doesn't put words in players mouths ala Harrington.
  13. I saw it. Grouped message board folk together as one individual that called him a looser instead of loser. It took considerable restraint not to bury him on Twitter. Alas, I would be no better than he. What's with our thin-skinned prima donna 'journalists' (e.g. Harrington, Graham)? Report the news guys, objective and concise. And MH, stop using LOL, ROFL, etc. It's quite unbecoming of a professional writer. Also, it's not 2002.
  14. I have to say this makes complete sense. I bood in the 07 ECF when we looked pathetic against Ottawa. Aside from that i cant think of another situation. But youre absolutely right, would hate to ruin it for the little ones. As for last night, i think we have some really stupid fans but i also think our fanbase is beat down. Periodic good performances cant erase a season of futility.
  15. It does matter what league it is. The CL and WC are usually called more conservative than house because of clashing playing styles, different refs, and whats on the line. Mourinho even acknowledged that Nani could have gotten a yellow. They got the same call with Pepe in the CL. The rule isn't hitting the player, it's significantly risking his safety if you hit him. Watch it again, he didn't hit him right in the chest/stomach, he got his arm and glanced off his side. And plenty of theatrics by Arbeloa (and Nani), I might add. Agree to disagree on this one. Here's Lopez punching Vidic. It's not a different story, if they call one they need to call both. http://www.metatube.com/en/videos/174269/Nemanja-Vidic-clash-with-Diego-Lopez-Manchester-United-vs-Real-Madrid/
  16. Absolutely disagree. First, there wasn't intent, Nani was playing the ball as was Arbeloa. If he was trying to kick Arbeloa, then maybe but I remember a straight kick to the chest in the WC 2010 (Dutch?) that was issued a yellow. This was very tame compared to that. Second, If that's a red then Real's keep Lopez should have gotten one for contacting Vidic on the corner. Third, this ref has a history of hard lining EPL players (Gerrard, Mario, Cahill). Fourth, this isn't the Bundesliga, or the EPL , or any other league for that matter. It's the top stage in one of the biggest games ever. The decision has to be airtight (especially in wake of the recent scandal), and it's far from it. I'm not a Man U apologist, as I said I hate em. But that shouldn't have been a red.
  17. C'mon...I hate Man U as much as the next guy, and AF is a totally baby. However Nani did not deserve the red. Especially in that situation. I think what just as interesting is AF's decision to sit 10 for 17. Balsy move IMO.
  18. I've always had a problem with him because of this. Total douchery to turtle and he used to do it all the time.
  19. I know nothing about Thai beer but it sounds like there are choices: http://gothailand.about.com/od/wheretoeatdrink/tp/thaibeer.htm
