Whaaat?! No Eichel or Reinhart? Are they being shopped?! Seriously tho, Vesey can be added if he signs, and I think it would be a good gesture by him to show up if he does sign. Eichel went through it, Reinhart, Risto, all those core guys went through dev camp as rookies, it's a rite of passage and would help how he's viewed by his peers in the locker room.

I agree Risto's upside is very close to a Torrey Krug, but he's not quite at that level yet, which makes it seem like a bridge deal is in the best interest of both parties.

Not really. Krug is 4 years older, and has 3 seasons in a row of +40 points and is a cumulative +40 over the past 3 seasons. Risto only has a 20 point season and a 40 point season thus far is a combined -53 over the past 2 seasons.

Anybody know why Vesey didn't sign with NSH after his junior season? He had a monster year and was 2nd place in Hobey Baker voting (to Jack). I applaud academics, but that's unusual for a player of his caliber at his age (22 at the time) to return to school for a 4th year. If he stayed in school to get his degree, then I salute him, but if it was just to avoid NSH, then I lose some amount respect for him. I guess we'll never know.

I'm still not happy about it. He would've pushed this team to another level. Think LaFontaine arriving on scene in the early 90’s. Now we have to rely on the likes of Ennid, Moulson, and Girgensons to score on a regular basis just to make up the difference. I'm getting tired of just hoping every year.

Focus on signing our own RFAs. Vesey, take him or leave him, don't think he would fill a top-6 spot this season. Try to work something out with ANA to land Fowler for a 2017 first. Package some guys like Foligno, Girgensons, Bailey and whatever to try and pry Barrie away from COL, or perhaps Lindholm from ANA. I'm actually OK with the forwards going into the season. Assuming Ennis is back to normal, he fills a top-6 spot, and Kane is still in the long term plans. Nylander might show something special in camp, maybe he makes the team, who knows.

He looked down right lost in his own end most of the time. He could be a depth guy down the road, but should spend most if not all of the season in Rochester. That said, Rochester needs the help, they sucked last year. Building a successful franchise in Roch is a high priority for GMTM.

Not sure how PK's "flamboyant" personality will fit in with the culture down there in Nashville.

Both deals make sense to me. Hall is toxic, an uncoachable team killer, not surprised on the lack of return for him. Weber is a beast, he's a better leader than PK IMO. Good deal for MTL. Curious why NSH had Weber on the block tho. I don't think he gets the respect he deserves in the East.
