    Girgensons doesn't belong in the NHL IMO. Name one thing he does particularly well... he's below average across the board in all facets of today's game. He would be a quality AHL player, I expect him to either get waived or traded by the time this team sniffs the playoffs.

    It's a step in the right direction. The hope is that a few of these guys develop into legit top 4 guys, otherwise the search will continue. They need a stud #1 guy, right now Risto is the closest they have to that, but he's not a top 25 defenseman in the league at this stage of his career.

Friday, Sept 8: Penguins vs. Bruins 3:30p Sabres vs The Butchers 7p Saturday, Sept 9: • New Jersey vs. Pittsburgh - 3:30 p.m. • Buffalo vs. Boston - 7 p.m. Sunday, September 10: • NO GAMES Monday, September 11: • Boston vs. New Jersey - 12 p.m. • Buffalo vs. Pittsburgh - 7 p.m. Three days after the conclusion of The Challenge, Sabres players will report to camp with their first preseason game on Monday, September 18. Then on Tuesday, September 19 the Sabres will be travelling to owner Terry Pegula's alma mater, Penn State, to take on the Penguins at Pegula Ice Arena.

    I'm not very high on Mahomes, seems like he panics too much under pressure, but he has some good tools. Kizer is far from polished, but I really like his demeanor... reminds me of Russel Wilson. He's confident but understands his limitations, seems to have that "it" factor IMO. That said, I don't think he should be starting this season, could set him back.... but CLE does have a very good OL, so we'll see.

    Correct. Rudolph has size, big arm, works smoothly through his progressions and exhibits exceptional pocket awareness and escapability. He's accurate on deep throws but has a tendency to over stride on some shorter throws, which hurts his accuracy.... something to watch for tonight, to see if he shows some improvement in that area.

    IMO Trubisky and Kizer will be the best of the group.

    I partially agree. For a team to have success, each player needs to play the system they're being asked to play. If Bogo is unwilling to adapt, then that's on him, not the coach. What was so unreasonable about what Bylsma asked him to do? He's an NHL level defenseman who should be able to adapt to different systems, assignments, etc..

    Yes, Scandella logged a -15 TRpm last season, which is worse than Kulikov (-10). Minny had a great team last year, they were a +49 as a team, and Scandella played about 30% of the minutes. You'd expect him to at least have a positive +/- but he was a -2 (actual +/-). Does he get tough matchups? I don't know, but that's not a good season for him considering Ryan Suter logged the toughest minutes and put up +12 TRpm. That tells me Scandella is weak defensively.

    OKST QB Mason Rudolph in action tonight on FS1. He's a guy that should be on the Bill's radar.... along with WR James Washington.

    On this roster he's a potential top pairing guy. On a contender is he's a 4th or 5th.

    Everybody loved Whaley's picks and aggressive moves in the draft and trades and whatnot... was a fresh of breath air from the previous regime. That didn't work out, so it goes back the other direction with a conservative GM who likes safe picks instead of rolling the dice and a disciplinarian for a head coach... 3 years from now they'll be gone and we'll be lauding the aggressive GM and loosey goosey players coach. The lesson here is that just because it's different doesn't mean it's better. Let's see where this new leadership group takes the team before anointing them the next Polian/Levy.

    Buffalo est une équipe américaine et tout le monde dans le poste de diffusion est canadien. Non pas qu'il y ait quelque chose de mal à cela, mais vous pensez que le public cible serait pris en considération lors de la sélection de ces gars.

    I don't think anybody is making assumptions about his character based on his accent. I like Marty, don't know him personally, but he seems like a nice guy. I enjoy his takes, he has some good insight, always has something to say... seems loose and easy going, probably was a great guy to have in the locker room and on the bench. That said, I'd rather listen to cats crying than have to hear him speak for 3 hours. Buffalo is an American team and everybody in the broadcast booth is Canadian. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but you'd think the target audience would be taken into consideration when picking these guys.

    His top end speed is above average, but he's slow out of the gate. And that get's him in trouble in the d-zone.

    I wouldn't consider it a complete rebuild just cuz they moved Watkins and Darby for picks and J. Matthews. It's not like an all out fire sale for picks. He bought the Bills in fall of 2014... so I wouldn't count that season... so two seasons, going on number three. His first order of business was to end the Toronto series.... thank God.
