With Kane and Eichel gone he's getting more opportunities and more is expected out of him by his peers. The spotlight is on him and he's embracing the opportunity. Most hockey players play much better the more ice time they get.
How long (wall clock) did the 3rd period take? Normally, each period takes about 37-38 minutes. If there were no commercial breaks and only 6 whistles (20s each?) , it must have taken only about 22 minutes? Insane.
Rosen = Bradford.
Allen can't anticipate throws.
Darnold big loopy throwing motion.
Mayfield = Manziel
I hope they stay where they are and maybe trade up for Rudolph or White on day 2. They need those 1sts to fill other needs.
I don't believe for a minute that a drop in PP% and secondary scoring would make a 20 point difference in the standings.
And you're basically absolving all responsibility Housley has for overseeing the PP and getting production from his 3rd and 4th lines.
I frequent Staples Center and the Honda Center. Last time I was at KBC was 2 years ago.
1 - KBC is dark. Dark hallways, dark arena, dark concourses.
2 - The angle of the seats is too shallow.... not steep enough. It seems you're very far away from the ice even when sitting in the lower bowl (compared to SC/HC).
3 - Temperature is on par with SC/HC... Staples is the coldest arena I've been in. Dress accordingly.
4 - KBC hallways/concourses are too narrow. That said I still miss the days of running up and down the hallway ramps at The Aud to get up to the blues.
25 years ago, there was a big difference in ability between 3rd/4th line NHL regulars and the better AHL players.
Today, 3rd/4th line NHL players are on par, talent-wise, with the better AHL players. And that's not good for the product.
I don't subscribe to the idea that they need an entire team of fast players. That might be what's working now in the NHL, but it's cyclical. You don't want to be that team that's always chasing the latest trend, never setting the trend. Just draft all around good hockey players who play with passion and things will get better.
