  1. I expected more from him. He had three nice scoring years in juniors. Guess he is JAG who can't make the transition to the pro level.
  2. Huh? Could be worse only if you replace Stafford with Kaleta. Hey Teddy...make sure you don't put him on the PP and give him a chance to showcase his offensive abilities.
  3. I disagree there is a lot of season left, and the Sabres in the majority of the games continue to be outplayed, but saved by Enroth over the course of this streak.
  4. Life will go on, but I will be extremely disappointed if they miss out on McEichel, and the two of them turn out to be generational players. I know some are way to young to remember, but it was great to watch Perreault in his prime, win, lose or tie(in those days).
  5. A guy who can't stay healthy early in his career, is only going to break down more as the game takes its toll on his body. I'll pass...especially considering some of the proposals being thrown around here, and the comments about his unwillingness to change his style of play. Injury history...
  6. Why? Grigs spending the entire year in Rochester give or take a few games in April is a good thing. Also, Luke Adam would be good for the tank. ;)
  7. Then why not Schaller or Varone or even Adam? Grigs needs to stay in Rochester!
  8. Wonder why? Is Darcy back and they want to jerk him around some more?
  9. I am not ready to say that Zemgus is a 1st or even a 2nd line player. That being said, I want 6 players who are true top 6 forwards. Mix and match them however you please, but right now this team has maybe two...Ennis and Moulson. Top 6 potential in the system... Grigs Armia Fasching Compher Baptiste Bailey Reinhart Karabacek ...and to a lesser possibility Carrier Lemieux Cornel Larsson Hurley Possler Olofsson Plus 3 more 1st round picks, and a high 2nd round pick in 2015 draft. Is it a lot to ask that out of all these players(whether developed or traded for NHL ready players) plus Ennis, Moulson and Z, can't form a really good top 9, a solid top 6 blueline(Risto, Zadorov, and Co.), and two good goalies by the time 2016 season rolls around?
  10. As much as I am impressed by the teams W-L record this year, several things still need to be corrected by the time training camp rolls around... 1 - Orton is not the answer. He got off to a good start, but his accuracy issues trying to throw to receivers on the run is AWFUL. EJ is not the answer. They need to take advantage of the defense that has been put together, and get a QB in here that can be competent enough to get them to the playoffs NEXT YEAR. 2 - Offensive playcalling/schemes still a big question mark. Marrone can stay another year, but only if a proven OC is brought in to replace Hackett Jr. 3 - Not figuring out a way to get Watkins the ball more is puzzling. 5 out of 14 games where you would consider his stats to be acceptable, is not good enough. See #2. 4 - Fix the OL. It is still a problem area in the run and pass games. Draft OL in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, but find some players that can play. Enough of Urbik & Pears. Wood is average at best. Glenn has regressed, and Henderson...who knows. All I heard about early in the season is the great depth they have at OL. I don't see it in the starters or backups.
  11. Mez and Benoit! Top pairing minutes will get the tank back on track.
  12. Haven't seen the Sabres at all over the last week and a half as I was out of town. The tank is sputtering. Can someone gas that baby up and get a full load of ammo on it?
  13. F***ing Enroth is really screwing up the tank. Even during this winning streak, the Sabres in almost every game are getting outshot, and in most cases, outshot badly.
  14. There are several players who shouldn't be in the teams long term plans, and the sooner they are jettisoned, the better the chances of finishing near the bottom. I am only listing those who I think should be traded AND who actually have trade value... Stafford Stewart Hodgson Enroth or Neuvirth Myers(I wouldn't mind seeing them trade him, but I don't believe he is going anywhere) Tank Commander Murray needs to start "unloading" by Jan 1 at the latest.
  15. Harborcenter does not have anywhere close to the required capacity for an OHL team. I'm guessing at least 4-5k.
  16. Murray is 6 months away from an offseason/draft that will probably define how his career as part of this organization will go. I might just turn in my fan card if he walked away from the job. What would happen next? Bring back LaLa? Bring back Regier?
  17. Edmonton gives up TWO SHG during the same penalty. They are taking tanking to a new level.
  18. I'll 2nd this. This team isn't capable of coming anywhere near the playoffs, so there is no sense ending up in no mans land.
  19. I'll second that!!    Big upgrade over that old battle axe that they normally roll out to do the anthems.
  20. You know the bozos(Howson, McTavish and Lowe) in Edmonton, along with their fans, understand the impact of McEichel. I fully expect them to do whatever it takes to finish dead last. TM must keep a close on on their tanking efforts, and must one-up them throughout the season.
  21. Back to back losses to the Habs will renew my faith in being able to draft McEichel.
  22. I don't care how tough they are, I am just talking about reigning in expectations based on a handful of games as pros, and how as young players they can regress(i.e. Mysie) just as easily as turning into all-stars.
  23. Go easy liger. Just don't mention the word "Norris" in the discussion. Just remember how quickly some regress after their rookie seasons...<cough> <cough> Mysie <cough> <cough>.
