You don't play tight man to man defense in your own zone during 3 on 3, you will almost always lose....unless your goalie is standing on his head. That is what the GWG looked like.

...and currently you only have 10 players under contract for 20-21 after said players are kicked to the curb(Bogo, Sancella,Hunwick, Sobotka, Vesey, Sheary, etc...). How much will be left to sign any F/A or bring in high price players via trade, after the Sabres take care of their own? Probably closer to 20mil, but with a lot of holes to fill at that point. All the vacant spots can't be filled with youngsters from Rochester or juniors.

Not really the place for this, and its been beaten to deah, but no one knows what happened behind closed doors that led to the trade.

I'm all for mixing things up in terms of call ups, and I'll continue to bang the drum for Skinner and Jack to be reunited, and Reinhart to drive the second line from the wing.

...and yet they are at or near the cap max. What's going to happen when they have to fork over big bucks for Reinhart and Dahlin? Goaltending continues to be a huge problem. Hopefully UPL is the answer, and he is ready for NHL action next season. What a mess. ?

It's time for Ralph to put Skinner back with Jack, and let Reinhart drive the 2nd line from RW.

I don't necessarily need bottom 6 players to "light up" the scoreboard, but they have to contribute in some way when not scoring...and that being said, they have to score at least a little...especially the 3rd line guys. If effort isn't an issue with any of them, how do Girgensons, Larsson & Okposo look fabulous for a few games, and then mediocre at best for a handful more?

I just don't get this guy. He can be really good, or invisible. So far this season, he is mostly the latter. Actually when you come right down to it, the bottom 6 is filled with frustrating to watch players... Girgensons Larrson Sobotka Vesey Okposo Erod I want guys in the bottom 6 who go balls to the wall every night....not once every 5 games. If you can't bring your "A" game every night, then GTFO.

The Sabres need a top 6 forward, and a 4th line/PK guy with grit. They have blueliners, picks and prospects to make it happen. Shouldn't have to give up massive assets to make it happen.

I haven't been in Schwabl's since the owner trashed the elderly woman who crashed into their building 5 years ago or so. F them.

Early in the season the Sabres were not using the skate towards center ice, and then drop the puck back to Eichel in the Sabres zone. Now I noticed they are back to that again. Not sure if it based on other teams PK strategy against the Sabres, or something else, but the drop pass into their own zone is maddening, because usually it ends up with Jack trying to skate the puck in, while the other 4 guys are standing around waiting at the opposing blue line.

With McIlhenny in net, I think the Sabres pot a couple more, but still lose. Tampa 5 Buffalo 4 That makes it a 5 game losing streak. ???

Time to show some love for Zhitnik. He had a reputation for a wild and unpredictable shot, but he was a pretty good defender for a lot of years. My other votes for Campbell, Hajt and Satan.

Was at the game...mainly because I grew up with the Sabres in the 70's and wanted to see them honored. What a train wreck of a presentation. - The twenty or so players that were there from the 70's were rushed out on the ice. - The camera that showed the players on the scoreboard either couldn't keep up or didn't know who was who. - At a few points, they were showing the crowd while the players were being introduced. - Several of the players almost tripped or slipped on the carpet because it wasn't layed down right. - Between the 1st and 2nd periods they interviewed Schony. Between the 2nd and 3rd, Rip. I believe that was it, but I did step out for part of the 2nd intermission. That being said, I did get a healthy dose of the same boring arena crap that goes on during commercials and intermissions. - To the former players who were there, thank you. After they were introduced haphazardly, they played "you know we're goin' to win that cup...", and all of a sudden the air got a little dusty around me, and I was tearing up. Truly, the golden era of Sabres hockey. - I'm not sure why I am surprised at any of this as the pre-game/in-game arena presentations has been garbage for many years now. I could have put together a better program with about 5 minutes of thought. ...and oh by the way, the game confirmed that my decision to give up STH after almost 20 years, was a correct one.

I voted for Hajt, Turgeon, Zhitnik and Pominville. Still trying to favor longevity. Lot of good players and I expect much more balanced voting among the choices.

Makes me sad knowing that the Sabres haven't even come close to sniffing the playoffs in Eichel's first four seasons. ? Hopefully season # 5 changes all that.
