It wasnāt meant to be a shot toward you. The future looking bright has been a fan narrative for the last three rebuilds. It was me just having a little fun with the concept as an aside to your analysis is all.

All due respect to journalistsā¦and to a similar extent bloggers and podcasters alike, has Bill Hoppe ever ābrokenā anything Sabres related? -

You have steadfastly stated that Pegula meddles. I think that has waned over the years. GMKA has the keys now. Terry has the Bills and to take care of his ailing wife. Plenty of posters on this board think he doesnāt even care about the Sabres. I donāt believe heās pulling the strings of the marionette like he once was. -

I understand what you are saying. Iām trying to keep the convo focused on coaching, so it is ok if you donāt agree or donāt reply. The Sabres have tried literally everything at the head coaching position through these rebuilds. The old standby/old favorite Nolan, Stanley Cup experienced Bylsma (after getting stood up by Babcock), the consensus up and comer Housley, the outside the box hire of Krueger, and what I would call the experiment of Don Granato and his development focus and minor league history. I hear your aging up point, but I expected that this season. That may be on the coach. I have defended Meatballs and I think ultimately the failure is on the GM. But the sword will fall on the coach and an experienced guy will be brought it. -

So this kinda blew my mind. Don Granato is the fourth most tenured head coach in Sabres HISTORY. They stood by the guy, but it is absolutely defensible to move on. -

Someone said Tyson Jost got paid more this year to play in the AHL than Meatballs annual salary. The cost is not prohibitive to move on. -
Why should Granato and the assistants be brought back?

Nooooooo donāt go there. You wonāt like yourself in the morning. -

I saw a lot of people pining over the organization losing Mike Peca as a coach last offseason. If Meatballs and staff are canned, how about Lindy Ruff gets a two year deal to be head coach with Peca brought in as his assistant/head coach in waiting? -

Rochester was 100% cloud cover and the experience was still surreal. It was like my world was on an hyper aggressive dimmer switch. The birds stopped. The flowers looked down. You knew this āshouldnātā be happening and it was. It was the coolest and quietest few minutes. And then it was like someone turned the power back on. My question for you is how did your experience differ with the glasses on? Was the demise of light as noticeable? How did the sun v moon visual enhance the experience?

Your instinct was correct and he has no say. The Mayor of Scottsdale is complaining about the land being close to downtown Scottsdale, but it's Phoenix land, and the land development plan that the Coyotes got approved by the city council has nothing at all to do with Scottsdale. Even the submitted arena proposal shows the water infrastructure will be coming from Phoenix. Any press is good press for the Mayor, I guess.

The new goal is to avoid the play-in round. Then win the division. Thank goodness we have this team. The Sabres are cooked, but Iām not ready to give up hockey yet.

Cuse is down two with three minutes to go, so a point here is important.

What information did your share? You said drama and issues. Did you share anything specific?

Uh oh. Defenseman Joseph Cecconi along with forwards Tyson Kozak and Brett Murray are all out week-to-week with upper-body injuries. Cecconi & Murr were both in scraps the last game. Also, it was announced earlier in the week that defenseman Riley Stillman had surgery and is done for the year. Thatās a lot of injuries to overcome.
