  1. It's nice to hear that there may be some movement. It would be nice to hear some credible trade speculation now rather than listing all the teams best prospects and saying that none are on the table for Eichel.
  2. No taxi squad but there was talk about being able to carry an extra 3rd goalie without counting against the cap (but I believe that did not get approved).
  3. Report out of practice says that Peterka is day to day with a lower body injury (bruise). So he still may get sent down when he's better from treatment.
  4. Interesting. Murray got a good taste during the preseason and seems close. I assume he has been given a list of things to work on in Rochester and if he works hard he will get some games later this year. I like Quinn and will find it interesting to see if they play him at center with Rochester. Murray Quinn Peterka (if he gets sent down) will be fun to watch. Could add Linus Weissbach on that line too in place of Murray. Fun to watch Rochester. Let's hope they develop and do well.
  5. With only one preseason game left I have no idea of who will be playing with who in this lineup. Maybe Granato will be like Lindy Ruff was with moving players all over trying to find that chemistry this season. There sure is a lot of questions left for me for the line combos and the defense still looks pretty open too.
  6. should not be the priority in my opinion. we need an A+ prospect in the Eichel trade as the principle target (ideally a center)
  7. Yes I absolutely agree except at this point I think we may be ready to say that the return for ROR was just beans.........no magic.
  8. I still think he needs some work on the defensive awareness for the speed of the NHL. I believe he will be sent to Rochester to work on that. He will be back though soon.
  9. Looks like Quinton Byfield will miss significant time in LA with a broken ankle in training camp. I know we would need to take money back to make the cap work with a trade with LA. Could try to get Byfield again as the principle prospect coming back. He's rated high but hasn't pushed through yet to the NHL. Before the injury he was expected to play on the 4th line for LA.
  10. Seems to have lots of speed and quite a few short handed goals in the clips. Not playing against NHL talent but still pretty entertaining. He may fit with the fast team that we seem to be creating.
  11. I just noticed your location "infinite parallel universes". Maybe check them for the threads!
  12. I was agreeing that with the post that he may be providing his medical records on his own.
  13. Seems reasonable. He has seen other doctors for 2nd and 3rd and 4th opinions at this point. I know the Sabres could have paid for these assessments but he could have just as easily covered the costs if that gives him the right to share his personal medical info.
  14. To be fair I said the thread needed to be closed down not locked for this to work. LOL.
  15. Does anyone know how he has done in the preseason? I have not watched any games or highlights from the Kraken.
  16. Lehner is a top goalie playing in the NHL with a players union. The NHL cares a great deal about their reputation especially when the reports come out like this. Over the weekend, Las Vegas Golden Knights goalie Robin Lehner published a collection of tweets that accused "many teams" of giving out Benzodiazepines and Ambien to "employees when they travel." If he really wanted to make a change or difference he would bring his allegations forward. Tweets are easy because he doesn't need to back anything up.
  17. Someone with more patience than me should go through the list of great D that took time to develop and many teams gave up on them. Pronger is one of them (no not suggesting the same style but still Hartford dumped him before he established himself and it still took a few more years with St. Louis). Patience will be hard playing on a sucky team this year but patience is needed.
  18. Didn't we already do one on Asplund? Maybe that was when he signed. I think that he will show to be the best value contract signed in the off season. I think that he's a solid 3rd line player that is versatile to play center or wing. He's looked good in preseason so far and there's not many players that have. Play him with Ruotsalainen and have them share the center responsibilities (face offs, etc. to their strengths).
  19. Yes it's too early...............but well done with the name. I like it. Could also work with Asplund, Ruotsalainen, Olofsson.
  20. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/gary-bettman-speaks-robin-lehner-tweets-jack-eichel-situation/ My favorite quote from Bettman with regards to Lenher's tweets: "We take his comments seriously and we'd like in short order to be in a conversation with him so we can hear his concerns directly and we're going to follow up to see what merit there may be to his concerns," Bettman said. "You don't have to tweet to get our attention. We have an 800 number people can call. You can call us directly, we're an open book. But if he has concerns we want to hear them and see how they need to be addressed." But a tweet gets more satisfaction when all you want to do is complain. If he wants to see positive change then he needs to bring facts to the NHL and trust that changes will be made.
  21. It's his year. I don't know what we will get with Tage. He didn't handle the expectations when he started with Eichel last year. I think he's another player that struggles mightily with confidence (along with Skinner and Mittelstadt). The Sabres need to have a good team of sports psychologists working for them (I image they have some resources on this but might want to double up this year). I like Granato's comments about Tage's potential. I believe at this point we can say he has potential and what may prevent him from reaching that potential is his hockey sense. If he can work really hard and respond to coaching and stay healthy we should know what he is "for sure" after this season.
  22. Yes. Any player that was given permission to play in the AHL last season because of CHL team shut downs are allowed to play in the AHL again this year rather than go back to juniors.
