  1. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/canadiens-nick-suzuki-agree-eight-year-63-million-extension/ Montreal signs Nick Suzuki long term. eight-year, $63 million contract extension with an average annual value of $7.875 million.
  2. I see that Marco Rossi was sent down to the AHL by Minnesota. Not a big deal as I'm sure he'll be back up soon but thought it might be of interest.
  3. Yes I agree. I could see the right side wingers moving around in the lines still.
  4. easy come easy go. too bad we didn't get to see him play a couple of preseason games.
  5. so maybe they just need him to run the practice drills that Granato wants to run today.
  6. I thought Fitzgerald is still waiver exempt. I thought he was just sent to Rochester.
  7. I'd love to know the truth on that draft especially. I was convinced they were taking Chychrun once he fell to their spot and because the Pegulas knew his family and liked him.
  8. could be that today is the best day to put players on waivers and that they don't know enough about him yet. He might be a nice insurance guy for call up in Rochester
  9. Yes that's true. He's definitely been given the chances with the Sabres to show what he can do. This season too. He's being given a great opportunity. I hope that he stays healthy and keeps his confidence high. I thought it was strange to play him at center but I remembered that he was listed as a center when he was drafted. He hasn't looked bad at center but lets see how he fares in the regular season against better competition.
  10. Yes. But Zibanejad was most likely going to get close to that on the open market so the Rangers have little choice but to sign him to keep him now. Drury and Briere were bought out as well from their long term contracts. Maybe if they had got Eichel they would have tried to get him on a shorter term or let him go.
  11. I believe he suggesting that he'll become a good player for us when he grows to 7' tall. 😏
  12. Yes for sure. We drafted him as a generational player but I don't really think we saw him play at his highest level consistently. Some games for sure but I don't think he hit his ceiling with the Sabres.
  13. Interesting to hear Granato plans on keeping Tage at center to start the season.
  14. How about a decisive win for our first time in this preseason? Full effort for 3 periods, 4 -1 win for the Sabres.
  15. I must have missed it by what's Oglevie out with?
  16. Yes I agree with you that Columbus is a team that really wants Eichel and in my opinion really needs a player like Eichel to resign Laine and help him reach his potential. That being said I really have had a hard time getting excited about their top prospects. I am still hoping to get back a top line potential center prospect.
  17. Really? Seems strange. Does every team have to schedule their own preseason games? I would have thought that the league would schedule preseason similar to the way they manage the regular season.
  18. Jack Eichel? Anyone want to take that bet right now? Seems unlikely to me.
  19. I would think the Sabres would leak that information if the surgery is not insurable just to help strengthen their condition.
  20. Is Eichel's surgery not insurable just like any other surgery option? I would think yes otherwise other NHL teams would not agree to it as an option either.
  21. If they can agree that there's a market for Eichel after he gets his desired surgery (teams will trade for him after he gets it) then perhaps the Sabres could allow him to get that surgery and then use the Olympics (which Brisson says is still possible) as the show case for him. I think that it will be hard for Eichel to make that timeline and maybe even harder to walk into high pressure hockey right off the bat without injury but you never know. It might be the best option to consider at this point. I hate all the speculation and assumptions that we need to make on this issue.
  22. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/panthers-aleksander-barkov-agree-eight-year-80m-contract-extension/ Panthers, Aleksander Barkov agree to eight-year, $80M contract extension
  23. Which is why Vegas should give up Krebs in the deal. If St. Louis hadn't made the trade for O'Reilly they would not have won the cup that year in my opinion. So giving up the prospect is worth it if they want to win this year's cup.
  24. Is he waiver exempt? Might explain if they want to send him down on a busy day.
  25. Yes I agree it's a good interview. They want the ADR and "every day that goes by" is a day that is lost and they want this resolved as quickly as possible. The only thing that surprised me was that he actually called Jack Eichel a "depleted asset" but I suppose that's around trying to get the Sabres to reduce their ask and expectations in a trade. He did say many times that we are working together with Kevin Adams and the Sabres, even mentioned meeting with Mr. Pegula.
