  1. Yes they must be worried about losing one of their D on waivers because I think they are still carrying 8 players.
  2. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/cold-stove-a-hockey-podcast/id1589288590 New podcast "Coldstove" which has NRD covering NHL rumors. He covers some potential trade partners for Eichel. It's an interesting listen. Not sure how credible his sources are but a nice listen anyway. San Jose, Anaheim, Detroit, Vegas
  3. Sarcastic reply. Maybe he can train with the Bruins after his surgery because he seems to like hanging out with the hometown Bruins in the off-season. Then he can wait for the trade to any NHL team other than the Bruins.
  4. If we trade Anderson in the next couple of weeks or days and call up Dell then we will know that we are in a true tank that only Tim Murray could lead. ๐Ÿ˜ Otherwise I love the way the team has played and the culture that they are developing. It's a great story so far and hope it keeps progressing.
  5. I would doubt it. The line with Tage, Olofsson, and Asplund has played pretty well together and I would think that they wouldn't want to mess with it. I think Tage needs Asplund right now. I imagine they will play Girgensons at center with Okposo and Hayden for the next game.
  6. No one thought they would be saying that before this season started but yes I agree because that line has been really good. I hate injuries but it's part of the game so hope we adapt adequately and the injured players come back strong.
  7. I'm in the "I don't know" camp. I think the easy answer is "No" but perhaps he gets surgery or some sort of treatment that works and then eventually plays a couple of games to demonstrate his return to health before a trade. So my answer is "No but maybe a game or two to demonstrate he can still play before a trade".
  8. My back aches thinking back to all the cross checks and abuse Vaive took while playing for the Sabres standing in front of the net.
  9. Did you get an interview or was it all based on your historical analytics? ๐Ÿ˜
  10. I would love to see the Eichel story told from Adams perspective in an article or book after he retires. Actually for that matter I would buy the book from Eichel's perspective too just to get some sort of understanding of the truth (most likely it lies somewhere in the middle).
  11. This should not have been a big hit but I guess Lauzon caught Hughes at the right angle and because Hughes is still pretty light. He definitely had the wind knocked out of him and they are saying a shoulder injury. Devils not reporting what the extent of the injury is yet.
  12. Wait until they lose to Carolina on Thursday. Detroit on Saturday (home game) might be their first win (or maybe not).
  13. Yes I love the developing chemistry with the team but we need to make the trade to move on from Eichel. @darksabre mentioned above that Quick would be the easiest cap dump to come back in goal. I'm not sure what else would fit because Quick might not be enough to cover the cap but maybe we just take someone like Olie Matta (because we really need more LD.............not).
  14. I saw a picture of Dahlin wearing a full shield today (Paul Hamilton tweet). Maybe he lost some teeth? If not, anyone know what's up with him?
  15. Yes maybe. They are the team that has the deepest prospect pool (Byfield, Turcotte, Kaliyev, Kupari, Fagemo, +++). They have more top end prospects than they have room on their team in the future. LA's safe bet would be to see how they develop and keep the best fits for the team but maybe they try to turn some of that capital into an Eichel. Cap concerns remain though.
  16. Yes Drysdale is getting lots of praise in Anaheim for playing above his age and experience. I'm not sure on Johnson. Does he become a Mitch Marner type (then great) but not sure he translates to that level yet. I agree with you though that Drysdale would look great on the right side but I think I would be pretty disappointed to not get back a top center prospect for Eichel. I still have faith that we will get a center back when it's over and done with.
  17. Lundell is looking good and getting high praise for his play in Florida. He was advertised as being good defensively back at the draft but looks like his offense has come around now too.
  18. Yes I put him in, not sure who to take out though. We have practice time before Friday though to see how everyone is feeling health wise.
  19. Montreal loses 5-0 to San Jose. 0-4 to start the year while the Sabres are 3-0. Can't tell you how happy that makes me.
  20. I don't care about Eichel but I was thinking that players on other teams are going to start to want to come here again because the style of play looks fun. Keep it coming boys. Well done tonight.
  21. Thanks for posting this. I read the earlier comments about the interview but wasn't going to search for it. Yes I agree with others that it's similar to what Paul Hamilton has said on WGR before about Eichel. I imagine the Sabres would wish he would tone down some of his comments on Eichel's leadership at least until a trade happens. I'm not sure that everyone (owners and players) would agree that it's the players association's fault for having this (team gets final say on medical procedures) in the CBA. I don't see the owners (who pay the guaranteed contracts) giving this up and allowing players to get any treatment they want.
  22. I would like to see his play broken down from a goalie coach's perspective. He has some flaws right now but are they addressable with good coaching and development? The last game that I watched him play for the Sabres I was surprised by how much of the upper net he was giving away for a big goalie. He was covering the ice pretty well but he was leaning forward so much during the play. It just seemed off from the way I have seen other big goalies play. At least in Rochester he may be able to get some help from the Sabres goalie coach (Mike Bales) a bit.
  23. Same deal as quitting your job and being your own boss. Positives can come from that but you need to look at everything involved. They said it wasn't about the money and having the ability to talk freely about any subject in the NHL has some appeal for them I would think. Working for the Sabres I'm sure they would need to be careful on some topics.
  24. I'm hoping for a win over the Canucks but I think they will be a much better opponent than what we have faced this year so far. A good test for the young Sabres. A couple of things of interest for me on their team. Vasily Podkolzin (RW) was taken 10th overall in the 2019 draft. He's looked good so far scoring in his first game. He was a player that I was hoping we could get in a Reinhart trade with them but I think the Sabres wanted the 1st round pick as the priority. Also Oliver Ekman-Larsson (OEL) to see how he his playing after leaving Arizona.
