  1. Hell maybe Jack will take the season off...
  2. Calgary sure are a mess...then Toronto actually signs Treliving as their new GM...really is comical
  3. Truth is there are a pile of teams looking for the great top-defenseman we are also looking for. It sure isn't easy getting that or everybody would have them. Asking price will no doubt be so high I doubt KA will give away what other teams are asking. I have no problem with what we have moving forward which is better then, and younger then most other teams. Still think better goaltending, along with a more determined effort defensively by the whole team in general will make a huge differnece.
  4. I watched the game and boy `Vegas were pretty bad first half with like 10 shots on goal. Both team sare so slow...almost thought it was being shown in slo-mo.
  5. want who??? Tkachuk or Schenn? No way to Schenn but sure wish we'd have got Tkachuk; he is exactly what the Sabres need
  6. Makes one wonder why so many ex-Sabres are doing so well??? I liked most of them too but at the same time th eteam needed to be gutted as KA has done. Better hope Boston wins cause I think TO will beat Florida out in 4 or 5 games... TO Edmonton final? Looks like a real possibility
  7. I live north of Toronto and hate the Leafs, Habs, Oilers Canucks but actually do not mind the Jets...I really want them to put Vegas out. On anothe rnote, see Bunting got 3 games...he is my cousin's stepson and actually liked his game for Team Canada a few summer's back and was actually hoping maybe the Sabres would sign him, but he grew up in TO and wanted to sign there. Now he has kinda put himself in a bad position with reminders of Kadri's stupid hits and suspensions that cost the Leafs dearly. Of course the Leafs turned around and traded Kardi for a bag of hockey pucks. Bunting is a free agent this summer and may have a tough time resigning with the Leafs now...
  8. of course Mark Stone is suddenly and mysteriously healed from injury and ready to go...how absurd the NHL lets teams do crap like that. Oh and while I do not have a huge hatred for the Canes I do hope vegas get knocked out in 4 straight!
  9. I keep hearing that cap will rise significantly with the good attendance this pasy season in the league...that'll give teams some extra wiggle-room to stay out of cap-hell (althoug some teams will be there either way which is hopefully where we can jump in and get a good steady physcial d-man)
  10. I trhink I'd rather try to get Marcus Foligno back instead of Wilson...Wilson agitates but is not a bigtime fighter...we need someone who can really fight when needed (once the othe rteam knows you have that guy you will not see other teams so willing to take liberties with the Sabres). Not so worried about how many points Marcus would put up although he is certrainly no liability and a good leader in the room. So sorry we ever gave him up...
  11. Kudos to CM who keeps playing well even though people love to dump in him or of course the other favorite ripping boy VO who just so happened to net his 27th goal playing on the 4th line. Heck a few years back VO would easily be the leading goal scorer on the team then. Just shows the good depth we have at forward. Just need to add to the defense one good vet but he must fit KA's type of player, a strategy which apparently is working just fine it seems. So glad to see CA get the win...wonder if he really will retire? On with the future of Levi (who would have stopped at least one or two of Ottawa's goals)...
  12. actually all it took was hiring GMKA...he has this al figured out apparently. I really thought of the tank as worthless as I disliked Jack from the start and while I liked Sam never thought of him as a game-changer. Now with the amazing haul we got for those two, KA has transformed the team into a serious contender. Took longer then we would have liked but the future is so bright we gotta wear shades...
  13. Next season I think we go with Levi and Comrie as backup and get UPL down to Rocehster to work on his rebound control and positioning for a year. Then he can backup Levi after next year and al is good in Sabreland (when KA brings in a nice physcial d-man and also physical vet forward who can fight preferably)
  14. Yep we could lament all day about Ullmark, Borgen, Carrier, Compher etc but who cares? KA has done a great job of building a team with players that wants to be here and that clearly have a great fuiture...'nough said

  16. crazy to see all the good young players we suddenly have to rave about...and the big team sure has some nice talent too. Seems not so long ago the team was a colection of could-be's and wannabe's but certainly not many actual doers. I simply cannot see how anybody cannot look at the big picture now and really like what KA has done to stock the organization in a short time. And it will only get better...
  17. What a great debut! Can't help but wonder why the goalie coach (whoever that is) has not worked on UPL's positioning and more importantly his rebound contrrol (or lack thereof). Levi does not allow those nasty rebounds that we see UPL allowing over and over. Levi played lots in college and should be up to play the last remaining games? What do we have to lose? On to Philly
  18. He DOES look cool...what a great story iof a guy drafted in the 6th round that actually may make it to the big show...
  19. Agreed kinda nice that games actually had some meaning this late in March. So anyways I must say that up here in the Great White North bloody Sportsnet must be in love with the Bruins..they have them on over and over and there is nothing worse then seeing the B's that much except having to hear their absolutely terrible announcers. I get that most announcers are biased and such but they are so bad it gets to a point where I simply cannot listen to them anymore. And on another note I really cannot see the NHL no thaving Cindy in the playoffs. It must be hard for the league to see OV not getting in either. While we lament our beloved Sabres and there is endless amounts of doom and gloom posted (especially after a lose), Washington is a mess. Not very good and aging and have traded so many draft picks for older guys that they have so veryu few prospects now. Just like the Leafs are doing now. That mentality has to catch up to you at some point. Clearlythat terrible GM the Leafs have is afraid to lose his job and is giving away far to much to try and save his a** and win a playoff series. Sure hope they get smoked in the 1st round again as usual...
  20. I agree 100% with this...th eteam sure was exciting when they scored but clearly need to tighten up...and yes it is possible to teach a offensive player defense but one cannot teach that scroign touch many of the team have...
  21. Wow that sure says it all...clearly we need that good goaltending and team defense to keep goals against down. We now we can score...
  22. It is not just you...I was amazing when I logged on this monring (Sunday) and there were so few post of this game...when they lose there are far more. All is not doom and gloom with this team. I get that they are up an ddown but so are all the other young teams (actually almost every team is up and down this year as we consistently see teams far down in the standings beating teams higher in the standings. Even Chicage had a 4 or 5 game winning streak there a while back. Anyways I like where this team is headed...some minor tweaking and things are looking good for the future...
  23. Must say that was pretty bad yet again...maybe we bring up Subban and get UPL back to Rochester to get some sort of confidence back? Absolutely true that other young teams such as Ottawa and Detroit are really struggling as well (and they apparently have competent coaches and GM's where ours I keep hearing are no good and do not know what they are doing). All is not doom and gloom and this is actually part of the learning curve. While these players have indeed experienced pressure during their younger years playing AAA hockey, it is now against men. Most of this team are still growing and clearly being pushed around by much more experienced men. Th efew "vets" are not capable of mustering up any sort of help to try to inspire the team. One good thing is we are young, while teams like Washington and Pittsburg, who are losing lots too, are old and have little in the way of young players. They have given away so many draft picks that it is catching up to them now. This team is close and needs a vet d-man, some grit up front and a NHL goalie. Speakin of grit, isee why Minnesota gladly parted with Greenway...heck they got Reeves and the guy I wanted us to try and trade for (who we should have never traded in the first place)
  24. Isles win again...boo
  25. Totally agree that Greenway has been a major disappointment (and I still say we traded with the right team but wrong player). As I said in my earlier post this team is pretty-much a carbon-copy of their coach...nice guys (and we know where they finish). It is one thing to lose but to have an ex-Sabre showboat and show us up is pretty sad. I have no use in having another GAG if that is all Greenway is. I was disappointed we took out Jost...he is not as big but has a bigger heart. I was convinced Donnie would get the team fired up for the 2nd period and instead they looked no different. As stated earlier well-coached teams can beat us pretty-well every time. Teams that try to skate and scorre with us (like TO) we can beat. Seems strange KA addressed the need for toughness apparently then suddenly the tough guy turns into marshmellow right before our eyes. Oh man and don't get me going on goaltending...hell even the old man looks like he's is out of gas. 5 goals on like 22 shots by a team that has few goal scorers? Yikes...
