What I hate more than Tokarski’s awful goaltending is that look on his face like he is about to cry when he gives up yet another horrendous goal.

I think I have told this story before but when Paul MacLean was coach of the Ottawa Senators they selected Ceci in the first round. Ceci played for the Ottawa 67s in the OHL. One night MacLean went with some scouts to watch Ceci play. Half way thru the first period MacLean got up and left saying “I can’t watch this kid play anymore.” Needless to say he wasn’t impressed.🤣

Dumba or Myers are guys I think will be available because of cap situations and are guys I would be interested in. That list is pretty good except Ceci. Ceci is never the answer, ever.😄

Nothing wrong with letting Levi plays a couple games if he signs. It doesn’t mean he is gifted a spot next year.

The Defense pairing of Edwards and Blankenburg tried to give the game away. Why that coach pulled the goalie with 4 minutes left I will never know. Killed All momentum. I like Portillo. He is a leader as well as a talented goalie. Power was tremendous. A horse at both ends. 4 assists. The difference between Power and Hughes was the 3rd period where when the game got tight, Power was on the ice and Hughes wasn’t.

Detroit loses 11-2 to Pens. This must be wrong though. I have been told Yzerman is a genius and can do no wrong and Detroit are light years ahead of Buffalo because of Yzerman’s pure genius.

This thread tells me how far this team has come. 3 months ago most people would have turned the game off after those two quick early goals. Now people are expecting wins regardless of competition. Great to see. Granato has these guys believing that they can battle back and win regardless of the situation. Finish strong. Add a legit starter, add Power, add Quinn, add a vet RHD and next year suddenly becomes very interesting.

Hey But the thing with the Rangers’ top picks was Lafreniere and Kaako were both picked where they were ranked going into the draft. All the scouts and online draft pundits had those guys ranked where they were picked. If the Rangers reached for those guys then sure but that is where they were listed to go. Now the development part is another matter. Both were rushed to the NHL and in hindsight could have used more slow cooking. Both guys are young and can still breakout ala Tage. I think most people just enjoy it based on how obnoxious Rags fans are about their players.

Calgary beat Edmonton 9-5. Edmonton gave up 9 even strength goals. And I can’t just pin it on their goaltending. They are the Leafs West. Both teams are overloaded up front, have bad blue lines, bad goaltending and both teams refuse to play any type of defensive system consistently. Neither are built for success in the playoffs.

Leafs lose to Habs even though they outshot them like 50-17. Hate to see it😁

Not with their pick. If he is there at Vegas’ pick they may think about it but only if they have done due diligence and think his character is good. I think Adams believes strongly in culture and character and will pass on talented players if he thinks that player will be a problem. Lambert is an enigma. Moving from team to team and not really producing anywhere. The rumours of his dad being too involved is worrisome. It will be interesting to see if the Isles take him with his uncle Lane coaching there.

1) Adams went to that arena because Levi played the first game and right after them Minnesota played the second game so he could watch two games and Levi, Johnson and Huglen play. 2) The Sabres have had horrible goaltending for a decade. I don’t get your take at all. Kent Johnson and Bjork are in different stratospheres as players. Johnson might be the most talented player in college hockey.

I agree. I think if Buffalo drafts 8th or 9th that we will be surprised with some of the names sitting there.

Levi already put out a message earlier in the year where he said he is looking forward to playing for Buffalo. He was teammates with Cozens, Krebs and Quinn. He will be here soon.

Mark Edwards who runs hockeyprospect.com put out their rankings with Connor Geekie at #2. He said he knows multiple NHL scouts that have Geekie ranked #1. I think this draft is going to be really interesting to watch play out.
