Why are the American Olympians still playing? Portillo is very good. He is not a product of being on a stacked team. As others have mentioned, Michigan doesn’t shut it down defensively. Portillo often bails them out. Earlier in the season he would get himself out of position but he has cleaned that up. When all the Olympians are gone it will be interesting how he plays. I don’t think any team has 3 goalie prospects that compare to UPL, Levi and Portillo.

Frank Nazar seems to be the sexy “It” prospect of the moment.

It won’t matter who is in net until they start tightening up defensively and allowing less shots per game.

1st round picks and top prospects usually don’t get moved to third teams. It is usually 2nd or 3rd round picks for taking on salary. Agree with your idea though.

Can Jacksonville give us their Josh Allen?😁 The Bills are pretty deep. What position does everyone think needs to be upgraded to take the next step? I think they need to decide about Edmunds. Do you commit big dollars to him or move on and draft or sign an impact linebacker. The O Line came together which helped the run game. Do they add another impact O Lineman in the first couple rounds or a big run blocker on the d line? I think they are in pretty good shape at the skill positions with Davis and Knox developing and a young burner like Stevenson waiting in the wings. Do they want to replace Moss with a bigger more physical back. It will be an interesting offseason.

Sorry, I wasn’t asking for a numerical deep dive, just your opinion. Buffalo Teppo was so calm and smart and efficient. Winnipeg Teppo was all that but also had more offensive side in his younger days. I was asking if that is a good comparison for Nemec’s game as I haven’t watched him very much.

How would you compare Nemec to Teppo? Not just mid 30s Sabres Teppo but younger Jets Teppo that was also more offensively inclined. If Nemec compares favourably to that Teppo then he would be a huge get for this backend.

I think you touched on parts of this but as a whole a big one is: •positioning Knowing where to be in the defensive zone is so important to playing d. Not running around getting out of position, how to cut down offensive chances by being in the right spot, being able to close players off, direct them towards the boards or corners. Getting in passing lanes. It is what made players like Teppo so effective. When Trotz and Lambert went to the Isles they were shocked how out of position the players were in the defensive zone. That was their biggest job to teach. Part of it can be taught and implemented through defensive systems but it is a big skill for those dmen that innately can position themselves properly.

The problem is that if they don’t get the 2 point conversion they are up by two and the field goal beats them in regulation.

That is the most talented lineup we have iced all season. Excited to see how it plays out.

My God Power and Levi might end up the two best players on the team.

No Fraser needs to go. The top defence in the league doesn’t give up 550+ yards in a playoff game and let a team go down the field in 13 seconds. McD is responsible for the touchback but I’d be praying Fraser gets hired elsewhere. His defences always choke in big moments. His prevent D in big moments always gets torched.

Based on how this week is going I’m expecting to hear Tuch has ACL tear, surgery, out for a year.🤯😀

Laaksonen is 3 points away from leading the AHL in defencemen scoring. He deserves a real look at some point. He is an offensive dman and runs a great PP. Maybe a third pairing RHD who works PP. They need a top pairing RHD for sure but I feel like Laaksonen is completely ignored as a RHD in the system.
