Amazing how horrible of a coaching job Krueger did here. So glad Granato is steering the ship.

A poster on another site who does have a connection in the organization and has been right on a lot of things said the following: - Tom Wilson was Plan A at the deadline. Washington were going to rebuild but changed course at the last minute (Ovi probably steppes in And said no rebuild) They pivoted to Greenway right away. They believe they can unlock another level in him. -look for Luke Tuch. He is not all in on Montreal. He could be a UFA next summer but this year a deal would be a 4th or lower prospect -Ryan Johnson has changed his mind multiple times. He believes he is entitled to certain things. He says the Sabres are pretty much done with him.

I would add Clifton as a D option.

LOL I actually like to visit different boards to get different perspectives. I will say that this board is head and shoulders above some of the others. And the Hockeybuzz Sabres thread is an absolute wasteland of pettiness and negativity by comparison.

I was just on another Sabres board. One poster advocated for trading Tage.š³ Another said Adams should call the St. Louis Blues to see if Alex Pieterangelo was available𤣠I think I need a drink at 9am.šš

Looking at team that might want to make changes that have Guys with one year left on their deals. Calgary has Hanifin Washington has Tom Wilson Also teams in cap hell who get knocked out early. If Vegas doesnāt win they have some tough decisions. Would Shea Theodore be available? If Leafs lose to TB then all bets are off with them. Dubas will be out and who knows what the next guy would want to do. It will be hard for them to keep Nylander.

Iāve been a āreal Sabres fanā since 1980. Iāve been a poster here for a long time. Take your obnoxious posts and attitude and piss off!

Maxim Celebrini could be the 1st pick in the 2024 draft.Like Bedard he is from Vancouver. He is playing for the Chicago Steel Like Power did. Kid is an electric talent.
-
My biggest thing with JJ is that he doesnāt finish enough chances. I like him a lot but of the young guys I can see him being made available if Kulich and Savoie cement themselves over the next couple years as finishers. Not saying I want JJ gone at all. If he can find his scoring touch then look out. He and Quinn have tremendous chemistry together.
-
I think you have it backwards. Savoie, Kulich, Ćstlund would have to beat out Krebs. Savoie And Kulich will be at camp. That is as far as I will go with that.

Should Adams bring in a starter and make Levi the backup in 23/24?

I think it was more the fact they didnāt trust them the last 2 weeks in must win games and then the game 82 thing was just another indication. The thing with UPL is they donāt like him more then Levi. He isnāt ready to be a reliable backup and he canāt get sent down without waivers. They could have sent him down for the AHL playoffs but didnāt want to and instead kept him in the press box down the stretch. He probably wants a fresh start. Put him in a package for a valuable piece coming back. -
I have no idea why people donāt like Krebs. Kid is a warrior. He plays whatever role he is given to the best of his ability. He is a natural playmaker that hasnāt played consistently with players that can capitalize on his setups. Look at Mitts once he moved between Skinner and Tuch. Production went up. Once Krebs gets stronger he will be in the same position. Play him with some talented guys and his production goes up. He was WHL player of the year. He has offensive chops.
-
Iām all for that. This would be his 4th year of college next season. He doesnāt have the offensive touch of Alex but he has size, can skate and uses his body along the boards and in front of the net.

You are correct. I just think it shows they will be looking for an upgrade in net next season to go with Levi. I think they use UPL in a package to upgrade the backend and Comrie they try to get through to Rochester as the 3rd option. -
First time but not the last after the Sabres trade with the Habs for Luke.š Bring those Buffalo vibes home. He would be a good bottom six forward with size and skating.
-
The Sabres said they acquired Stillman because they identified that he would fit better in their system then in Vancouverās. They were right. He is a solid number 7 who can play third pairing and not hurt you while adding some size and grit. I want the Sabres to upgrade the D corps and keep Stillman as the 7th D.

I donāt agree. The major point you didnāt make was that they were playing for their playoff lives and didnāt trust UPL or Comrie to play a game down that stretch. They decided on the goalie straight from college instead of the two guys that were there all year. Not letting UPL or Comrie have the net in the final meaningless game against a bottom dweller in Columbus was a slap in the face to those two guys. I fully expected Comrie or UPL or both to split the game. -

It canāt be Levi-UPL. You canāt have 2 developmental goalies at the same time in a year you are expecting to make the playoffs. UPL will be moved in a package in my opinion. -
With Skinnerās skating he is not going to fall off a cliff. He rarely misses anytime. As long as he is playing with top players I think Skinner will be productive through the remainder of his deal.
-
VO has one year left. If Adams retains 50% for one year he could probably get a lot of interest. $2 million for 28 goals who can be a weapon on the PP will interest some teams.

A UFA I never see mentioned is Jarry from the Pens. 27 years old. Would make a nice 1A-1B with Levi. -
I think Savoie will have a say in how deployment happens next year. If he is ready he is a strong face off guy so I see him in the middle. I mean you could do something like: Skinner Mitts Tuch Greenway Tage Cozens JJ Savoie Quinn Girgs Krebs Rousek There are a lot of combos you can make from that group. I think Kulich will push his way up later in the season too.

ICE beat Moose Jaw 5-3 in game one of second round. Savoie with 1g, 2a Now has 12 points in 5 playoff games. Benson is back but playing in a different line.

The train is back on the track. A few shrewd moves this offseason and the rocket takes off. And before people start with the āIf they only won this game or that gameā remember there are 31 other teams saying that about their seasons. You are what your final record says you are. Very excited for next season and beyond.
