  1. Sandin Pellikka with another goal and assist so far today. Wallinder is another solids RHD for the draft. Not flashy but seems to play a solid all around game. Craig Button compared Sandin Pellikka skill wise to Erik Karrlsson and said “what team wouldn’t want Sandin Pellikka?” And I said “come visit Sabrespace Craig”😁
  2. It’s not about getting one more dman that will fix everything. It is about a commitment to play better team defence in front of the goalies. When they cut down on high danger chances against the team and goaltending will improve greatly. I do want to see an upgrade on the backend but it has to go hand and hand with team play all over the ice.
  3. The thing that worries me with Barlow is that he is playing with a full beard. He has fully matured already. How much room to grow/improve does he have left to do. I always remember my dad telling me when he was 15 he played with a guy who was considered the best player in Canada. The guy never had an NHL career. He peaked at 15. Some guys mature early and don’t improve as they move up levels.
  4. What entitlement? Which player has shown entitlement?
  5. People keep saying Anaheim but I don’t see it. They are absolutely loaded on the backend with Mintuykov, Zelwegger, Luneau, Lacombe, Warren and a few others. If he wants west coast L.A and SJ are his choices.
  6. I agree. Adams is very careful with his future cap knowing it will dry up with all the young guys maturing but they are in a very good spot.
  7. The Sabres had $17.1 million in space this year. Next year Tage, Cozens And Muel kick in for about $19 combined. They lose Bishop, Okposo’s deals and if VO and Comrie are moved that is about $18 combined. The following year is when Dahlin and Power extensions would kick in. People are hoping Dahlin Signs for $9.5 or so. He is already making $6 so you would be adding $3-4. Power will be the bi addition at that time. Then Tuch will be coming up. At some point you might need to look at Skinner’s $9 and see about moving it out. They are not in bad shape but the money will dry up quick if guys like Quinn take that next step.
  8. Maybe he has just been terrible the games I have watched. Edit: His NHL numbers look solid overall so i will chalk it up to some bad viewing by me. I would be open to Schneider or Miller but I don’t see a reason for the Rags to move either.
  9. After watching Miller play this year, I wouldn’t. Gets abused defensively and I don’t think he has a high hockey IQ. I would do it for Schneider though.
  10. Sabres should get chatbot to create an automated Adams that fans can program to say the exact words they want to hear from him in the precise verbiage they want it to be said.😆
  11. In one writeup a scout called ASP “Mini Makar” even though both of them are listed at 5’11😀 If the Sabres stay at 13 and Reinbacher and ASP are gone then a couple talented forwards will have fallen to them. Im not saying at 13 but I wouldn’t be surprised if the Sabres look into finding a way to draft the local boy Musty. The kid is a very talented winger who really came on after a coaching change in Sudbury. Most rankings have him in the 20s.
  12. Dahlin-ASP Power-Muel works for me long term😁
  13. 7-0 Sandin-Pellikka is a talent. Elite skating and offensive talent. I wouldn’t pass on him because he doesn’t fit the box of “big tough RHD” that some want.
  14. I just remember during Covid when they did a zoom presser and Wawrow was at home in his bathrobe.
  15. Savoie scores 1 goal to help pull the ICE back even at 2-2 in a tough series with a talented Moose Jaw team.
  16. Can you send me the link you watched because the one I watched they literally said the goal is to win the Stanley Cup.
  17. I don’t disagree with you. But the end of year presser has never been the time where the GM lays out what specific plans they have for the offseason.
  18. I don’t need him to become Gilmour. I was just trying to compare offensive junior players being cast in different pro roles. My thing was Krebs didn’t really have a defined role. Tell him “We want you to be our checker. Like Cirelli in TB. Give him a defined role and let him sink his teeth into it.
  19. So you think they will be worse next year? Even if they brought in nobody and kept the status quo they will be better next year and other teams will be worse. Younger players getting better. Levi here for a whole year. Both Adams And Granato spoke about the defensive system being a problem. That being addressed makes this team take another step. I just don’t get what you want. Adams standing up there with a flow chart with all the change they are looking at making. Pegula stood up when he bought the team and declared the mission was to win the Cup and make Buffalo hockey Heaven. Those words made no difference in anything.
  20. Doug Gilmour was a high end junior player. When he got to St. Louis they asked him to become a checker. After a few years he started to breakout as a real two way threat. When you take young players who are used to being offensive dynamos and cast them in different roles it takes time for them to adjust. The Sabres need to figure out what they want from Krebs. Do they want him to be a checker? Do they want him to be the 3rd line centre and play with some more offensive wingers? Tage and Cozens breaking out as the top 2 centres has changed up the dynamics for some of the other young guys. Mitts coming on down the stretch as a centre also plays into it. Then you have Savoie knocking on the door. I like Krebs as a young checking centre. But commit to it and give him the tools to succeed. Have Peca work with him on the details of the role.
  21. Nobody ducked it though. They said they are building to it by sticking to their process. They believe setting the team up for sustained success is the best way to win the Cup and that is the goal is to win the Cup. They said what you were hoping just maybe not the words you wanted them to use. I think everyone here is expecting playoffs next year. They are young and will be better next season.
  22. This is key. I mean if they snuck in this year and got spanked 4 straight by Boston without Tage and Muel being able to play would fans be placated because we broke the streak? I’m not happy not getting in but looking at the big picture we are setup to be good for a long time starting next season. I want deep runs. I don’t want to be the Leafs.
  23. Yep. Go back to the the behind the draft video. Terry is in the room during prospect interviews. Kevyn is at the draft table on the phone to Terry explaining to him the idea of trading back up for Kulich. How does any fan know how involved Terry is with the team? And let’s cut the guy a little slack this year. His wife is struggling through a very serious medical situation.
