https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/seven-potential-off-season-suitors-for-jets-connor-hellebuyck/ What would you be willing to give up for Hellebuyck and Demelo or Pionk? Hellebuyck has one more year at $6.2 and then is a UFA. Making a deal for him and one of the D would be 1 stop shopping. 13th OA, UPL, Joker would be a solid offer. The question is how long do you want Hellebuyck. You would have to sign him to an extension to keep him long term. Or is he just a one year rental while Levi takes over. That is a lot to give up for 1 year of Hellebuyck but it would easily put you in the playoffs.

I had seen other places with different teams talking about their team’s Core 4. Because of the salary cap era the idea was who are the 4 guys you sign big contracts with to build around. I decided to add another to make it Core 5 for this discussion. Wanted to see if everyone was basically on the same page and everyone seems to be. Dahlin, Tage, Power, Cozens, Tuch seems to be it with Muel, Quinn, Levi as guys that could break in there. In reality the Core can be as many guys as you can lock into long term deals. Dahlin, Tage, Cozens, Power, Tuch, Muel, Quinn, Levi is likely the real long term Core at the moment.

All I remember is tons of online fans declaring that they were done with the Bills forever if they took Josh Allen over Josh Rosen.😂

He said it is the chance to play with his brother as they have never played together before. -

His younger brother and future Sabre Luke Tuch😀 -
The only way P Kane is on this team next season is if Pegula demands it. Do I think it is a good idea or the right idea-no Am I going to throw a man baby temper tantrum if it happens- no

Smith moving up to 3rd is a big development. Perrault moving up 23 spots to 9th is a giant development. Scouts will go back and forth on Perrault because he is 5’10 without electric wheels, and put up insane numbers this year with Smith and Leonard but hasn’t put up similar numbers in previous years. Will be some good talent at 13 for sure.

He is one of a handful of forwards that the Sabres can choose from. I have to believe Oliver Moore is right in Adams wheelhouse. Moore, Wood, Yager, Perrault and others will probably be there at 13. Bob’s top 12 drops tomorrow so it will be interesting to see how he has the top of the draft ranked.

In reality it doesn’t and isn’t. I just wanted to see if you had to limit it to 5 if most people would be on the same page.

Fun question, no wrong answers. Who do you choose as your Sabres “Core 5”? The five players you would lock in as the 5 to keep and build around while other pieces move in and out. I’m going to go outside the box a little: 1) Dahlin 2) Power 3) Cozens 4) Levi 5) Tuch Tuch over Tage was a tough decision but they are close enough in age that I went with Tuch because I feel he brings just a bit more to the team overall. Tage, Muel and Quinn are my next tier just outside the core.

Kamloops beat Seattle. Seattle leads that series 2-1. We want Kamloops to win because since they host the Memorial Cup whoever they play on the WHL finals also automatically go to the Memorial Cup.

https://www.expressen.se/sport/blogg/nordstrom/2023/05/03/Östlund-pa-vag-till-buffalo/ Here’s the article, it is in Swedish. He signed his ELC last year at development camp so I think he can play games.

A Swedish article says that Noah Östlund is flying to Rochester to practice with the team. If they win game 5 and move on there is a chance he could play in the playoffs.

You never know who is banged up at the end of the year. JJ is going for Germany. Great experience for all 3 young guys. -
I love that he won a championship. And I love that he projects as a different type of forward then what we have. Looks like he will have a much bigger role there next season.

Sabres announce Viktor Neuchev Signed to 3 Year ELC
Flashsabre replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Novikov is a Muel type dman. Big LHD that plays physically and excels in his own zone. Has played over a year in the KHL as a teenager which is very impressive. -
That would be something. He is not a defensive stalwart though. More of a 2 way guy who leans offence. Joker and a swap of 1sts. UPL maybe with another piece coming back. edit: Edmonton is up against the cap but I just can’t see them giving up Bouchard. He is vital to them. They will try to move out other contracts first but who knows maybe they are stuck. He would be the perfect target. 6’3, RHD, 23 years old, bomb of a shot. From Oakville. Him and Power would be a fantastic 2nd pair.

Novikov please -
Friedman reporting that Rags will probably can Gallant and that he has heard that they are interested in Sutter.😂

He is also 6 feet tall which makes him kryptonite to most scouts. Hopefully the Levi’s and Wolf’s of the world are opening up the scouts eyes that it is not about size but ability to stop the puck.

Lindholm and Backlund were two of them
