  1. Carolina signed Brendan Lemieux. PLEASE let the DeAngelo Trade happen now. Lemieux and DeAngelo in the same dressing room would be gold
  2. “Frank Seravalli says he thinks we’re nearing a conclusion on the 2018 Hockey Canada investigation and teams are bracing for suspensions” Some teams might be rocked by this. No idea which players were involved or not but a team like St Louis had Thomas and Kyrou on the team. That would be a huge blow for them if those players were involved. A Hart Trade might happen if he is cleared in the investigation. Here is the roster. Clague was in the team: https://www.quanthockey.com/wjc-u20/en/teams/team-canada-players-2018-wjc-u20-stats.html
  3. As a 4th round pick he has a package that is translatable. Him and Wahlberg bring an aspect to the forward group that they don’t have. He is a raw player that needs a lot of refining but guys his size with skating ability are good lottery tickets at that point of the draft. His shot is quite good too. Kingston is a notoriously poor franchise for developing talent but I’m excited to see him take a step regardless.
  4. But if you don’t punch guys in the face then you are not playing “big”😛
  5. I can’t get twitter to work so I don’t know if Weekes means a. Deal is close and he is moving or if he is going on a show to discuss if he thinks Hellebuyck could be moved
  6. Debrincat to Wings for Kubalik, Sebrango cond. 1st. Signed 4 year extension
  7. Yeah that’s why I said some games. Not a regular thing but here and there depending on the circumstances. still think Muel-Dahlin will be the first pair most nights.
  8. Most people don’t even know what a #4 or a #5 is. Im fine with Clifton and Johnson. How the d corps will be deployed will be interesting. I bet there will be games where they go: Dahlin-Johnson Power-Clifton Muel-Joker/Boosh I think there is one more move coming. Being it moving a couple dmen out for a different dman or moving out pieces for a goalie.
  9. Yeah imagine Hutson or Luneau or Warren with that pick
  10. I think Gibson is a lot better goalie then what he has shown. He was great in juniors and to start his career on a competitive Ducks team. Since they have been awful I think he starts well gets frustrated with the losing and falls apart. I think a move to Buffalo where him and Levi split starts would do wonders for him but it would be risky. 4 years at $6 is a lot if he doesn’t pan out. You would hope Levi can take over after a year or two. But if he bounces back then you could move him when Levi is ready to be the man. Hart is the other option if he is cleared in the WJC police report. Korpisalo has his ups and downs but has played well overall. 5 years wouldn’t be a great signing though for Buffalo.
  11. In fairness Neuchev distributed the puck to teammates very well during the tournament
  12. But the problem with that thinking is that Buffalo won’t be as good for “reasons” but every other team will be just as good again. Boston lost a ton. Toronto lost a lot, replaced some of it but are $9 million over the cap without their starting goalie signed. Tampa has lost some good pieces, I see no evidence that Detroit or Ottawa will be markedly better. Montreal is not going to be good. So why is it just Buffalo that won’t be good even though they added two pieces to the backend and their guys are all coming back.
  13. https://www.amerks.com/news/detail/amerks-sign-slaggert-to-one-year-contract I have no idea where all these players are going to fit.
  14. Maybe they think Rousek, Kulich, Savoie are ready for games. They also have VO’s 28 goals. I still would like to see a better goalie to team with Levi but there are still a lot of moving parts in the goalie ranks: Hellebuyck and Gibson want trades, Swayman, Samsonov and Gustavsson going to arbitration with cap strapped teams and Hart could be in play but the Team Canada police report has to come out first to make sure he is clear.
  15. Brand new highlight package of Savoie. Electric! That number 9 guy that plays with Savoie looks alright too😛
  16. Because it is July 8th or you just want to complain?😀
  17. The prospects tournament will be fun this year. With college and European league starting up they won’t have Östlund, Wahlberg, Poltapov, Leinonen Strbak, McCarthy, Richard but still should be able to ice a dynamite team with Benson, Matthew Savoie, Kulich, Rosen, Kozak, Cederqvist, Kisakov, Neuchev,Nadeau, Miedema, Ryan Johnson, Novikov, Lindgren, Komarov, Nicholas Savoie, Ratzlaff
  18. Jobst returning is huge. Warren is effective and Houser is the great organization security blanket. The Amerks are busting at the seams right now.
  19. Murray and Joseph Woll
  20. I think the goaltender market is still very volatile. 3 high end goalies going to arbitration for teams in cap crunches: Swayman in Bos, Gustavsson in Minny And Samsonov in Tor. Also Carter Hart is rumoured on the market but he was part of Team Canada that is under investigation. The police report is supposed to be out by the end of July. If he was not involved then teams might jump on him then. Hellebuyck is also out there. Once the arb cases are done and the police report comes out we might see some more goalie movement.
  21. The Sabres drafting has jumped by leaps and bounds the past 3 or 4 years. Finding talent down the draft board has been their biggest improvement. Finding Novikov in the 6th and Kozak in the 7th of the same draft is huge. We will see how the Russians develop but Poltapov looks like a bull, Kisakov and Neuchev looked like high end skill wingers and Novikov has a great package of size, skating and enough skill to be a player. Komarov has been impressive the past wo year’s in Quebec. Richard needs to improve his feet but there is a pro player there. Same as Nadeau. Lindgren putting on 11 pounds and not losing his elite skating is impressive. Lindgren, Komarov, Novikov, Strabek, McCarthy, Metsa gives them a pipeline on the backend. Panoacha looks interesting for a 7th pick as well. Ratzliff was a good pick. Kid was a winner for Team Canada and was a good tandem goalie with Milic in Seattle.
  22. That was the sequence of the tournament and summed up Benson’s game perfectly in one single clip.
  23. People sleeping on Wahlberg today. Big boy with skating and skills My God Benson is special. The player he reminds me most of: Prime Leafs Doug Gilmour. Just an absolute hound all over the ice. High end brain and skill but the dogged and endless work ethic sets him above other highly skilled players. Impacts the play all over the ice and you want him in the ice in every situation. My biggest takeaway is the amount of skill in the organization. There was a lot of talent on the ice there and that is without Levi, Matthew Savoie, Kulich, Rosen, Östlund, Poltapov, Leinonen, Kozak, Komarov, Cederqvist. That’s 10 high end guys not at the camp. Nicest surprises today were Marajala and Bengtsson. The 3 Russians look like once they adapt they can be guys that can really grow in Rochester.
  24. Something has to give. Levi, UPL, Comrie. If no moves are made Levi is up, UPL has to clear waivers and will be claimed so he can’t go down. They would try to sneak Comrie down. Problem is they signed to very strong AHL goalies in Tokarski and Cooley. Neither one would be sent down to the ECHL to make room for Comrie. Combine this with the amount of dman they have at both Buffalo and Rochester with the Clague signing that a move has to be coming. A package including some of UPL, Joker, VO, Bryson for a better goalie is my guess.
  25. Why is Morgan Reilly going on LTIR? And regardless, a team has to be cap compliant to start the season BEFORE anyone can go on LTIR
