  1. What a joke. They couldn’t even say what the injury is since they haven’t thought it up yet
  2. Don’t they have 48 hours after the arb. Settlement to buyout players? Settlement came down Sunday afternoon so if they don’t buy anyone out today they lose that option.
  3. I don’t think he is signed with the organization but what I meant was Duff and Marty that do the official show have him on all the time to discuss prospects and he is on with them during the draft to break down the picks. He also did the 3 on 3 game and will probably be involved with the prospects tournament.
  4. Bakes really knows his stuff. He’s been doing it along time and I’m glad the Sabres organization brought him into the fold with draft and prospect coverage.
  5. Panocha will now be there. I like Bakes lineup he laid out: Benson M. Savoie Rosen Neuchev Kulich Kisakov Cederqvist Kozak Nadeau Fiddler Schultz Sherk Medima Novikov Johnson Lindgren Komarov Panocha N. Savoie (Jandric, Metsa) Ratzliff invite
  6. https://strategyonline.ca/2023/03/01/rbc-drafts-auston-matthews-for-big-vantage-campaign/ As someone who has sat through his commercials far too many times I can confirm this.😁
  7. They are trying to figure out how to sign their starting goalie while being $8.8 million over the cap already.
  8. Connolly was one of the most purely talented players the Sabres have ever had. The Ottawa game was the high point. What could have been that season. And as you said what could have been for Connolly without the injuries. Pyatt was a great prospect at the time too but never developed the way people thought he would. Losing Peca hurt but by that time it was well past the point of being repaired and he had to go. The return at the time was very good, two players picked in the top 8 of the 1999 draft. Isles picked Connolly 5th, Pyatt 8th And Mezei 10th that year. I remember the Isles made the Peca trade and then traded the 2nd pick (Spezza) And Chara to the Sens for Yashin. And the pundents were all predicting years of dominance for the Isles moving forward.
  9. Not this year but next year he could Gaustad his way into the lineup.
  10. VO is like Liam Neeson, he has a very specific set of skills. I think we can all agree what type of player he is. 28 goal scorers (30 if he wasn’t benched for the other parts of his game) that can finish on the PP do have value around the league. There are teams that need finishers badly. As part of a package VO can easily be moved. Calgary are desperate for scoring wingers.
  11. I thought your post was going in an entirely different direction until I saw the word “goalie”😛😂
  12. I think: Benson-Savoie-Wahlberg or Wahlberg-Savoie-Benson Could be a great line in a few years. Wahlberg adding the size and muscle to compliment the all world skills and chemistry of Savoie-Benson. Wahlberg has the skating to play with those two as well. Sabres will have some great forward options over the next several years.
  13. Eklund from Hockeybuzz.com. His track record is far from solid
  14. LOL if Hanifin does end up in Buffalo though you are going to have to apologize to his dog.😛
  15. Flyers place DeAngelo on waivers to buy him out. Guess the Carolina deal fell through.
  16. Hanifin to Sabres (e3) Hearing the Flames could move Hanifin to Buffalo "as soon as this weekend." So far I have been unable the return. 😛 I’ll say this about Eklund. He posts about a rumour once then moves on like it never existed. He has posted about Buffalo-Calgary 3 or 4 times now so someone he trusts keeps feeding him this. Hanifin-Dahlin Power-Clifton Muel-E Johnson would be a complete makeover.
  17. Vladar hasn’t proven to be any better than UPL at the NHL level
  18. Calgary needs to move a goalie, Hellebuyck in Winnipeg, Swayman, Samsonov and Gustavsson going to arbitration with cap strapped teams, the Team Canada report holding up any Hart move. The goalie story of the summer is far from being over.
  19. Probably went on the ice for a practice and they saw how he played😛
  20. Dumba might have a team lined up but has to wait for another show to fall first.
  21. People get so caught up with 2nd pair-3rd pair. I look at it this way: whoever played with Ray Bourque was a first pair guy. Whoever played with Denis Potvin was a first pair guy. Guys like Dahlin and Power will be so good that whoever plays with them will be first or second pair guys. Johnson can easily be a second pair guy with Power. Same with Clifton.
  22. Signing of first round picks is a crazy thing. It usually happens at a some random time and we never know the rhyme or reason for it at that time. The three firsts signing the same time last year was out of left field.
  23. Fun question from that draft: if the Rags or Kings offered Lafreniere or Byfield to the Sabres straight up for JJ Peterka would anyone do it? I wouldn’t and that is the crazy thing about drafts. Two guys that were very hyped top picks vs a guy drafted in the 2nd round and three years later there trajectories are very different.
  24. I would do it for a 1 year rental. Let Levi gradually develop into the starter for the following season. Im not giving up a top prospect for him though because who are we even bidding against? UPL, VO, 2nd take it or they keep Hellebuyck and lose him for nothing to UFA next summer.
  25. “Sabres and Flames talks… Continuing to hear more and more names…These two teams are “heavily involving in MAJOR trade talks.” The Sabres have even discussed what it would take to get Lindholm. Source: Eklund” MAJOR trade talks people MAJOR😛
