  1. Because I think he's the real deal and am not so sure on Portillo - granted that's tough to know. Just my opinion on both. I don't want to lose Portillo much rather he be here. But I wouldn't feel crushed if he left If Levi does, I absolutely will be.
  2. And fyi I'm not sure how good he is. Levi on the other hand....that's far more concerning to me.
  3. Sure you could get him for a 2nd....I guess. But you aren't enticing anyone without a significant other piece coming with him. That's all I'm saying. The winner in a deal involving Portillo and a pick is the team getting him. Sure the pick could pan out. There is no way to spin this. An draft pick we watched going on 4 years now in all likelihood leaving.
  4. Why would any team care if he's in a trade? He's close to being a UFA
  5. Hopefully work on not giving up rebounds like that.
  6. I wouldn't say "falters." If the younger guy is the man you roll with him. Did Biron or Noronen falter as much as Miller just showed enough he was the man?
  7. Not the same as being traded. A competition with your organization's goalie prospect is what he expects - as long as they're all here competing no one will be "chosen." The competition could be Miller-Biron like who knows.
  8. I believe he truly is excited about a shot in Buffalo and a career of being able to stick it to Florida who (probably correctly) chose Knight over him.
  9. To all of us that were saying for 2 plus years he needs to get traded he's at the heart of that core that continues to lose no matter the coach and yes chemistry is real it matters.....take a bow. It's our night to shine. Thanks Jack. He is never going to lead a team to a Cup.
  10. I did not mean that in a negative way - I'm sure they saw something there with Hasek. Maybe we get just half as lucky here
  11. A trade for a middling backup goalie in Chicago. I think this sounds familiar...
  12. Prayers to the Dunleavy's and good on you OP - I commented in there to. I feel bad. Like you said we didn't know. F*** cancer. Get well soon Mrs. Dunleavy
  13. This is what's different about 2015. Jack was the first piece brought in and brought in to a system thin on talent that GMTM started trading away to accelerate the rebuild. With this 2022 draft I feel we land one of the stud centers we look close to what Tampa was in pre Cup runs. That that is one of the final major rebuild pieces and we're a playoff team come 2023 for years.
  14. You're definitely not wrong. I didn't say Jack was THE problem. Big part of it with his superior leadership, attitude and superior defensive zone play.....yep. But its very possible, both of our takes are true. Good luck Vegas.
  15. While awesome and good.......does this mean Jack was "Buffalo" and truly embraced the city? I never ever ever sensed that and I think a lot of people agreed probably long before the losing got bad. The losing got bad and I know I'm making a judgement without knowing all the facts but it's the internet so....I just believe his attitude and approach contributed heavily to it. Great player no doubt. Not generational and never will be. Bye.
  16. Well his career may never be the same and I just keep going back to that. The fact this isn't discussed enough is mind boggling to me.
