  1. We need goaltending to continue to play this way especially with a young team. Goalies not named Linus won 5...5 freaking games total. Linus went 9-6-3. Not addressing the goaltending before the season is what has had me questioning KA that got put aside when we got Hall. Both total disasters. Not good Kevin. Not good.
  2. I don't think it happens until the Cup Final ends at the earliest. Which should be by Tuesday. Eichel gets traded by Friday of next week. I think they know what they're going to do it's just a matter of not taking any attention from the Cup.
  3. Agreed another ROR trade just cannot happen. I would not trade him in conference BUT if the package is one you can't pass up yes I'm doing it at this point especially if the WC team is low balling. Zero chance the Rangers give us Fox but if he's in the deal I'm making it happen. Something like that. Young elite talent being offered you have to get the elite talent.
  4. 3 to 6 months is best case - if it's a herniated disc and he gets the procedure I've read about on Dr. Google. Which is why I'm not understanding what KA is talking about regarding a surgery never done on an NHL player. Google can tell you this to. Is there some new procedure we don't know about? There are so many variables at work here. So regarding Vogl's tweet and what they mean by coming to a resolution: The team he's traded to - don't they have to agree on a course of treatment for Eichel as well? If Eichel is getting surgery now after being shutdown for almost 4 months I mean it's got to be a serious concern. The team he's traded to - they aren't going to trade for a guy that doesn't want to be there - the Sabres have the window to trade him wherever they can but the team getting him will not come June 2022. He's got to be happy with where he's going, right? Who wants a disgruntled and injured Eichel that completely can dictate where he's traded next....if it came to that. Eichel's camp is going to have a significant say (that's what Vogls tweet tells me and we'd be naive to have ever thought otherwise). I'm sure every team wants him but it's likely been down to 2 or 3 realistically again given all the variables (injury, cost, contract, NMC, and yes, where Jack wants to go). And that limits the return because there is no "bidding war." Why do you need to increase your trade package when there are only 2 or 3 (I'm obviously guessing) serious players in on Jack. I think I'm just preparing myself for a very meh return. I think we're going to get 1 maybe 2 first rounders, a top (not elite) prospect, and a mid level one.
  5. Montreal was a minus 9 this year. A team with a minus 9 or worse has made the SCF 10 times in the last 40 years. 80 teams. 10 have had a minus 9 or worse. I actually thought it was much less then that. Vancouver was a minus 15 in 2010 - 2011. https://www.statmuse.com/nhl/ask/worst-goal-differential-in-a-stanley-cup Oh...and NONE of them won the Cup.
  6. Ahh ok. I did not know that.
  7. If we expose him for the draft?
  8. What if you make a deal with Seattle for the #2 for Eichel a first next year and they agree to draft Skinner in expansion draft? I don't like it but right now as the Sabres are in cost cutting mode as well as a rebuild I can see it happening.
  9. You don't think reporting like this forces teams to do more homework on the player?
  10. Thanks for sinking Sam's value Paul Wow. My mind is blown.
  11. And if those are the offers that come in, you hang up the phone and keep him. Surround him with an entire new cast. I'd look at moving Samson Skinner and Oloffson. I'd consider moving the number 1 if it got me ready now elite prospect in multiple package possibilities. My gut is telling me the return on Eichel will not be sufficient so keep him. My gut also says that the 1st overall is not getting us to the playoffs sooner and is no guarantee. If we keep Eichel and make good move using our picks, a few roster players, and prospects we can properly overhaul the team....led by Eichel/Cozens/Dahlin. The latter 2 aren't untouchable but the players coming back need to be elite. If Jack wants to be here that's what I'm doing.
  12. This is where I'm at. I'm going to actually need to hear him say he wants out at this point because all this health situation has done has decrease his value. Why does Adams continue (the 2x I heard him interviewed since the season ended including the PC) to talk about "surgery that has never been done on an NHL player" as he has done? I'm sure this isn't a secret in front offices across the league. But if the public knows this you can't sell trading your elite prospects for a guy everyone is hearing has this very serious neck issue. Am I missing something about this? I don't want Adams talking about it at all frankly. But I guess since he is that's probably the red flag that he's getting dealt.
  13. That's depressing KA. That's something you say when you're picking in the 7 - 15 range. When you have the first overall pick it should be a slam dunk. I don't know much about a lot of these guys yet, but it feels like 2014 only worse.
  14. That clip of him split second frozen right there in his own end seriously has me questioning the instincts. I mean where was he going with that - down the middle?
  15. Is Carlson a good comp for Power?
  16. Everything about those teams in that division was a mirage. Nice racket tho the league set up guaranteeing at least one Canadian team in the final 4. Everything better be back to normal next season re the divisions because this is a joke.
  17. Just for fun...what would Edmonton ask for: I think: Eichel Cozens Dahlin Isn't that what you'd ask for?
  18. Nothing would make me happier then seeing Edmonton and Toronto eliminated in RD 1. I want validation that the best TEAMS win and they don't need generational stars to do it. McDavid won't ever get traded but he won't be finishing his career in Edmonton. He'll only be 29 in 2026 when that contract is up. Meh maybe they do trade him who knows.
  19. You don't need "generational" players to win Cups.
  20. Good work sweep these bums out of here
  21. Great start to the 1st playoff OT game to hear the NHLN crew raving about Hall and that they won't be surprised if he gets the winner.
  22. The goal has to be to save this franchise from its current disaster of a reputation. Whoever we trade for, how distraught are they going to be to end up in hockey Siberia where you can count on a 3 year rebuild? The goal at this PC should be, "we recognize the front office AND ownership has gotten things wrong for a long time.....I'm here to tell you I've had time to assess and learn from those mistakes.....we are putting together a solid front office, we are rebuilding the scouting department, we're going to hire the right coach for what we know is a solid young core. We want Jack and Sam to be a part of what we are going to build and sustain here. Its why we were hopeful about seeing Jack play with these guys the last 25 games. So there is some cohesion going into next year. Now all that being said, the reality is we believe there are moves we can make to add to the core and give us more depth. If that means everyone is available, yes, we are listening to offers. But only if they make sense for this CITY." And yes, I'd say the word "city." That means so much more right now and says so much more than "the organization" that everyone hates. You come here, you see it with the Bills. The fits have to be right. It's something that has always mattered here. You not only represent the team, but the best fan base in North American sports. And when you win here, there isn't much to compare it with. You become part of the community and you likely will never want to leave. You have to start damage control tomorrow Kevin. Those are your talking points.
