  1. As it is that is a pretty tepid endorsement. But can you imagine if he said anything viewed as being contradictory to that statement? The Leafs fans and the Toronto media would eat him alive for the rest of his time there. Or he would simply claim to be misunderstood.
  2. Agree completely. Will relate a story that is obviously a VERY small sample size. I went to see the Amerks play in Springfield when Nylander was playing for Roch. Sat two rows behind the Amerks' bench. I have never in my life seen a more aloof and disinterested athlete in any sport - while in the midst of a game. It was stark. He had a serious 'why am I even here' vibe going. It appears the FO is now certainly looking beyond skill in it's assessment of prospects.
  3. Buffalo is far more likely to be the sweeper than the swept. Josh owns the Dolphins. And in spite of what occurred yesterday, Tua is overhyped. His ball placement is JA circa 2018. I have no idea what the Ravens secondary was doing in the second half of that game. And I think the only way the Bills split with the Pats is if week 17 is completely meaningless to the Bills seeding. The Jets would have to catch the Bills during one of those to or three game lulls that all teams seem to go through during a season. The Bills have unquestionably the best QB and roster in the division and should be favored to sweep the other three teams - barring something weird as @Taro Tpointed out or there is an unthinkable injury (I refuse to even type it)..
  4. How is AHL.tv? Pretty good quality for watching the Amerks?
  5. Yes. Especially if, as presumed, TEN doubles Diggs there can be some gaping holes in the secondary for a TE and RB to roam free.
  6. As an interim goal its good enough. But as encouraging as the prospects/young vets look, reaching the ultimate goal will likely include one or two players that are not presently in the Sabres' system. (Apologies if I misunderstood your question).
  7. Two reserves who may have an impact in tonight's game: Tyrell Dotson as the Bills play a good bit of 4-3, and James Cook in the passing game (if Davis is limited or out).
  8. The JAG days will soon be a distant memory.
  9. Awesome that they were there. But JFC does seeing that pic make me feel old. Really old. Thanks for adding the id's @PromoTheRobot. I recognized Muel but thought maybe he brought his neighbor's kids along. JJ looks like he's a 12 year old.
  10. Came to watch the prospects play and an all-star game breaks out. Anyone playing defense?
  11. I've mentioned this previously as its quite typical and, frankly, drives me nuts. Why can't, prior to releasing a presser video, questions asked be added via closed caption? (Or a synopsis of the question if Paul Hamilton is the one asking).
  12. Outstanding movie. Should be the rally cry of the Sabres' season .... 'You tell 'em I'm comin'. And hell is coming with me!'.
  13. PSA: The start time for Monday night's game is 7:15PM. Not the usual MNF start time. Plan accordingly.
  14. Me neither. 😎
  15. Agreed. Plus, didn't he play a *****-ton of hockey last season? No need to shorten this offseason for him, even if only for a week or so.
  16. Heard a funny line this morning. "If Tom Brady and Derrick Henry were able to have a baby together, it would be Josh Allen".
  17. Years ago when I lived in NJ I had the opportunity to go to Flushing Meadows to see some earlier matches of the US Open. They were still playing on some of the side courts so I was able to get an up close view. I recall being absolutely blown away by the speed and movement (especially) that the players can generate on a tennis ball. And these weren't even the the Top 10 or 20 players. Seeing it on television does not do it justice at all in that regard.
  18. Been hearing and reading a lot lately about Josh Allen's progression as a quarterback. QB's get better with games played. They see more, experience more, learn more. Confusion evaporates over time. Nothing groundbreaking there. But what gets me really excited about watching JA in the years to come? I'll leave you with this: Career Games Played to Date Tom Brady - 302 Aaron Rodgers - 197 Josh Allen - 62
  19. Regarding @Taro T's question in the old thread about Sam Martin's punting stats in altitude. There was some data posted over at TSW saying the difference was about 0.5 yards per punt. Doesn't seem to be a significant difference especially when influenced by the number of times a punter is trying for the 'inside the 20' kick. Regardless, given the number of times he will be punting its likely not an appreciable difference in total yards over the course of the season. In fact, I have it on good authority that he will have his own seat on the sidelines this year.
  20. I've read that three times now trying to understand, thinking I'm missing something obvious. WTF does that parenthetic question even mean? What's its purpose? Remove it and Graham is reporting the Bills have reached out to Kern. Have they, or not? TG is a complete tool IMO. (And not just for this).
  21. Congratulations to yous two (hat tip to NS) party animals! 😁
  22. What immediately strikes me about that video clip was how strong and clear RJ's voice was back then.
  23. πŸ‘† The way its supposed to be done. And the opposite of what the majority do (#emotions). Hang in there!
  24. @ddarylthis is such an effective and productive way to turn current assets into future income because of the compounding effect of reinvestment plus rising dividend payouts. The bolded is why its not utilized more, unfortunately. Focus on the income - as you well know and do. For anyone who might be interested, here is an example. In 2013 you purchased 100 shares of Abbvie (ABBV) at $52. It was paying a quarterly dividend totaling $1.60 per year (~3% dividend yield). In this the 10th year you would now own, through reinvestment, ~130 shares that will pay a $5.64 per share dividend. The key thing is the annual distribution rate on the original investment. $733 income on a $5200 .... or ~14%. And likely to continue rising.
  25. No worries NS. All good. I'm sure in your profession you must see via your clients' 1099s a lot of questionable, if not unscrupulous, investment activity. Sadly.
