Rico introduced himself to my family by simulating a car crash with my father's brand new vehicle. He apparently had the entire bar in on the trick and fooled my father. They became friends at that point. All those legendary stories about him are true. One time, I had my non-hockey-fan roommate home and I took him to a game. Met Rico during the intermission and he was getting all the fans yelling and asking for signatures. He introduced himself as the mayor of Buffalo to my roommate and started talking complete BS politics to him. My roommate was awe struck for 2 weeks that I knew the mayor before I revealed the truth.

I made that one up. The other stories are true though. That would be the most ridiculously awesome story though.

I've skated at the aud. I consider Richard martin and family a friend first, sabre legend second. RIP. on theta note, Rico took me to game 3 of the 99finals. We lost, but I won. He took me to the alumni suite and I shared quite a few drinks with [insert any retired sabre here]. I also shared a barber with lindy Ruff and marcel dion.

I don't believe I was being negative. The game was great and I'm glad that we won. I'm just disappointed that miller couldn't get his shutout.

Fayetteville, NC has been shut down since Tuesday due to the weather. It's not Atlanta bad because we closed things down Tuesday BEFORE the storm hit. As for the actual storm, we got about an inch of sleet and about 3-5 inches of snow. Not terrible by WNY standards, but when they don't have salt for roads or more than 3 plows, it makes travel very dangerous. I've been cooped up in the house since Tuesday afternoon and I'm going stir crazy. My school system is very conservative with cancellations, so I'm predicting that we won't have school tomorrow either because side roads are still pretty bad. Also, I've sworn off booze for the new year, so its been a LOOOOONG few days!!!

I am a special education case manager for my school system's preschool department. Based on your child's age and the fact that you mentioned "Early Intervention", it sounds like your child is in the Part C Infant/Toddler Program. Things will begin to move quickly between now and when your kid turns 3, but long story short, your local school system will work with your Part C providers and "transition" her from the Part C program to the Part B program (that's public school special education). I'm at work right now, but I'll try to send you a PM later with much more details. I have plenty of experience as a classroom teacher for children with ASD as well. I'm a teacher.... Today is... You know that feeling that we all got in grade school on this day? I'm happy to report that one of the joys of being a teacher is that you have that exact same feeling every year as an adult!

Over the past 15 years of changing and sometimes crooked ownership, it is difficult to remember why we are all fans. SHKIII is the reason. To all the younger fans, Knox is like pegula, but an even bigger fan. I believe most of us also bleed bills red, white, and blue; however the bills are a team. The sabres are family. Thank the Knox family for that.

I was a freshman in college.

Hindsight is 20/20.. During that time, the team owners were dying/died, Hasek had given up on the coach, coach either slept with hasek's wife and/or muckler's wife, coach was a drunk, new GM entered a situation where it was either the award winning coach or all time goalie to leave, etc. There truly WAS a lot of crap going on back then. The reality is that Muckler should have never been fired and Nolan should have been more mature. Either way, this team has been washed anew. I'm more concerned about whats next than what's in the past. With that said, you really missed some fun, tumultuous times as a fan back in the mid to late 90's!

Good for him. Not that I support Kaleta's style of play, but if you're going to give Kaleta 10, give the next guy 10 as well. If Kessel gets 3 for swinging a stick, reduce Kaleta to 3.

Darcy should have been canned on 7/2/07. Either way, this team has been on a terrible downward spiral since that day, in large part due to the handling of Briere/Drury/Vanek's RFA offer sheet.
