GDT: Buffalo Sabres @ Los Angeles Kings, 10/14/17, 10:30pm ET, MSG

Yikes! That little sabres history nugget only confirms to me what I said in the sharks GDT......I have a bad feeling about this road trip. -
So what is Jbot’s plan for the Sabres?
Scottysabres replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Rochester has had a great early start to their season. Bots was known for his pipeline prowess in the burg. The only question I really have is on the Bogo, Moulson and Okposo contracts. Is he going to let Bogo's and Moulsons run their course, and what of Okposo? If he doesn't produce at a pace on par with 6 mil a season, will be move him? -
7.5 aav should net consistency in effort at the very least. I view the players through the cap prism. Okposo, ROR, Scandella, Moulson and Bogosain are 27.64 mil aav. Bogo being injured is one thing, but that's roughly 40-43% of the teams current aav that is doing absolutely nothing. Sad.

I can remember reading on this board about the possibility of a 3 year turn around. Its looking more and more like a 7 year thing. What's wrong with this team? To much to list.
-
I couldn't disagree more. For myself, and I'm sure some others, it comes down to compete. That is partial coaching, partial internal drive and passion of the players. 3 games in, 2 of which are complete catastrophic blowouts......HOUSTON, we have a problem...... ROR himself is saying openly he just skates around aimlessly and he doesn't understand why. That's an issue, a BIG issue. Help coming in a year? Baptiste, Bailey, Fasching, Nylander, Guhle? Even if 3 out of those forwards pan out and Guhle, its not enough, NOT NEARLY ENOUGH. Take a good look around the EC. Toronto, New Jersey are up and comers, TB, Pitt, Wash and Florida are either poised or already on a higher trajectory. People talk about playoffs? When we are watching a complete collapse, yes, a complete collapse of how to do basic fundamentals and create a winning attitude is completely out the window here? Playoffs??? I think its time to realize that no matter how much we HOPE for something, action is needed. Duchene, re-unite ROR with him. Yes at the expense of Reinhart. Move Moulson, get that contract gone, even if it means moving a 1st to do it. The defense.......we need some serious help here. I can't even fathom the cost. But we are right hand shot, r8ght wing prospect rich, target a 2/3 24 to 28 yr old and make it happen. We are bleeding points, in a conference where every point counts. Don't "WAIT" for it to magically happen. Get ahead of this Bots long before the 1/4 season mark. Time is money!!!!!

I don't foresee anything changing. Players like ROR and Okposo are no shows so far. Defense is a catastrophe and 8 forwards are basically pylons. In short its a big sandwich and us fans are going to have to take a bite.

GDT: Sabres vs. Devils, Monday 10/9/17 3:00 pm
Scottysabres replied to bob_sauve28's topic in The Aud Club
Who has the "oh no, we suck again" GIF? This is just brutal. And I mean brutal. Defense is beyond horrible. Outside of Kane this team currently does not have a scoring winger. Speaking of scoring, outside of Jack and Evander the other players are aware they have to try and put the little black rubber saucer disk in the net? Right? -
GDT: Sabres at Islanders, Sat 10/7/17, 7:00 PM

When is Eichel going to show up? The absence of goal scoring from ROR and Jack is more than concerning. 17.5 mil as between these 2 come next season.....Its an omen. Edit: ask and thou shall receive :D -

Chemistry. Its non existent. Time? Personally I don't think so. Talent? Inconsistently, sure. This team lacks HUNGER. just my opinion. -

Need to see more chemistry on the lines. Not to sound like an alarmist, but Toronto looks fantastic. Scary actually. Buffalo, not so much. -

Just make the playoffs. That is what my expectational hope is.

GDT - Toronto @ Buffalo: 7pm, MSGB, WGR, 9/23/2017
Scottysabres replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
They look terrible most of the time. A few flashes of chemistry but not much else. Hoping that changes with time. Gorges looks like retirement material. -
Not nearly as deep as RHS RW'ers Liger. And hi, finally nice to meet you. Read a great deal here, your posts are full of passion and often get myself to rethink my positions.Just looking to what if scenarios right now. I advocate only what I surmise may make the team better is all.
-
I do agree here, save this.....the pool is heavy RW'ers. I do believe Baptiste, Bailey and Fasching are NHL material. We have a pluthura of right handed shots at prospect wing positions. Moving 1 or 2 of them I do not believe would hinder our depth. I would of course prefer D or LW in return, just my vision of the situation is all.
-
Maybe. I don't honestly know who'd they want defensively. I do believe McCabe or Guhle are the logical answer though. Tough call honestly. Duchene presents an opportunity to solidify ROR and Okposo as a very solid second line. I think people tend to forget ROR is getting 7.50 mil a season, he will be given every opportunity to produce results that maximizes the return on that investment. And, just my opinion mind you, there is no denying the chemistry Duchene and ROR have shown. I was very impressed with them at the worlds. Duchene, in my judgement, is the right fit for this team. But at what cost?
-
I can't see the Avs wanting quantity again. Once Kane is gone Buffalo's LW left handed shot that can fly with Eichel is void for a bit. Is there a mesh for a larger deal? Landeskog and Duchene? That is what I'd be interested in. Duchene is 6 mil for 2 more seasons.
-
I'll surmise it's Duchene given A.) The Sabres need for an impact LW'er, B.) The knowns of both ROR's chemistry with Duchene both on and off the ice, in particular, ROR's line obvious need for an impact LW'er, and C.) The more than obvious Kane situation. Do they throw caution to the wind and cross their fingers and hope for the best, being reactive, or do they scout potential replacement talent at a reasonably affordable rate for another season beyond Kane's current contract, becoming pro-active? Color me crazy and call me pink, but something tells me Bots experience with the Penguins makes him a more pro-active manager.....min My opinion.
