  1. Thanks :) Don't know if Dater still has those strong connections in the Avs organization. But what I do know is Duchene and O'Reilly play well together. It showed at the worlds as well. Is there a chance? Who knows, but LW is a need to be sure, and Buffalo does have the ammo to pull off a deal.....so who knows...
  2. Adrian DaterAdrian Dater @adater Scouts from Canucks, Canadiens, Ducks (two scouts), Blues, Flames, Devils and Sabres on hand for Avs, with Duchene in lineup
  3. Buffalo reportedly scouting Duchene. LW is going to be a need I suspect. 2 s3asons at 6 mil left on his deal. Would be a good move in my opinion.
  4. So Pommers was the missing link on an Eichel line? Who knew :D Didn't get a chance to listen to the game, where is Reinhart playing?
  5. I'm looking at a longer timeline than just the past 17 years. There is a bit of a cycle time wise, but it just seems like more of them are seeing landfall.
  6. I rode out Hugo out to sea. Was stationed on the Pegasus, a hydro plane in key west during Andrew. Showed up as a support team member post Katrina. Glad all are safe, but the Hurricanes are definitely growing more numerous in intensity. Not so much the amount of storms, but the landfall amounts.
  7. I've read the main page for years. I believe SDS is site founder? If so, just outstanding format work. I've been reading the Aud threads for 3, 4 years. A great deal of information about my Sabres I get from the forums. I can remember, as a young kid of 6 to 12 years old (76 to 82) I kept folders of each sabres player, goals, assists, games played and which opponents each player had an assist or goal against. Like Pegula, my hero is Gilbert Perreault. But as time went on, so to were Lafontaine, Molginy, Hasek, Drury, Briere. I've TV watched a ton of seasons, from a long time ago. To long. But I've only been to a handful of games over all those years. That is changing. I like this conversation arena. It not only allows me to talk hockey, but I'll have people to share my experiences with. That means a great deal. Go Sabres!
  8. Just got back from camp. Watkins and Darby for replacements and picks......looks decent.
  9. Shoots left. We are weak at left handed shot on left wing. I would be interested in a Reinhart for Duchene swap.
  10. I don't agree. With how many close games there are in the NHL, teams need to be able to rely on their netminder to take a few points. And that's across the board not just bubble teams. It builds confidence within the roater imo.
  11. I can't explain Jbots, but as for myself Lehner is getting a shot to show. My question is what is the plan following this season if Lehner isn't in the longer term plans.
  12. Thanks Tom, I responded in kind.
  13. Slightly pricy imo. I expected 2 x 3, got 2.4 x 2. Not great, but not bad.
  14. Sure, why not. Never hurts to have a look.
  15. Bots said team needs to get faster. Rod has some speed. The 2way/1way deal leaves room to slide some of the other kids in and out of the line up if necessary this season.
  16. Shootouts are a part of the regular season game. Lehner is terrible at them. Whether fans like it or not, those points on the table in shootout situations are critical. Lehner is also suspect along the posts from time to time. Personally, I don't view a 1 year deal as a "show me" deal. I view it as a stop gap measure. I'm of the opinion Botteril has something else in mind for goaltending down the road.
  17. Hi all. My brother surprised me last year and took me to a couple of games. I'm looking for a multi game package for 2 to 4 seats either in the lower bowl or 200 level. Anyone know where the best deals are? Thanks.
  18. If I post in the trading post forum, do people visit? Sorry for asking here, but wasn't sure given the post dates there. Thanks all.
  19. I'm still thinking 9 to 10 range. 8 years.
  20. 6x6 is what I'd prefer if we intend to re-sign him. Torn between keep or let go however. I am no fan of his publicized off ice issues but it does appear he's played low since last summer. Wonder if those around him have explained he was hurting his own value. Then there is the Pegula's commitment to "character". Is a redemption project in step with that? After all, it's not only the Pegula's looking at good character, but they've led by example in keeping that quality of character as one of their key expectations. It is based on this that I believe if Kane continues to lay low and produce, he will be re-signed. Kane, like Buffalo itself, can become a redemption story, and if championships are involved in the process, a story that we will be telling our grandchildren.
  21. I'm never good at these prediction things. But I'll just throw a number out there.....40 goals, 72 assists.....to much, not enough?
  22. I'm hopeful for breakout years for both Jack and Sam. But for Sam, 65 points or there abouts and I would be ecstatic.
  23. Strategies are a means to an end. Therefore, this is not always true. See: The Tank
  24. Sure, why not. I'd like to watch ROR and Eichel in the playoffs.
  25. I wanted Dan gone, and yes, I believe the on ice strategy should improve enough to make the playoffs.
