  1. Nylander won't be ready next season. Baptiste and Bailey will be up fulltime however. As for Guhle, it would be a waste of an opportunity if we had to bring him up to early. I'd prefer he start the season in Rochester.
  2. I look at it from a positional view. Meaning RW (right handed shot, speed and/or power with finish) appears balanced when you look at Okposo, Bailey, Baptiste, Fasching and Nylander. LW however is a big ? It should be addressed for sure. Defense is just a straight out disaster up and down the pipeline. Goaltending is suspect.
  3. So, are we just beginning the assessment of the Murray assessment? Or, are we awaiting for some miracle deadline and off season before passing initial judgment? Because I have a few choice words for the situation given the assets squandered we could have used to at least build some successful or potential successful defensive depth......starting with the 2015 draft, where picks were squandered.
  4. Aaron Portzline‏ @Aportzline Hearing #Avs D Fedor Tyutin could be on the move tonight https://mobile.twitter.com/Aportzline/status/836782887257190402?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw
  5. And just so you can be reminded again.......this is the ducking brainchild of 1 Tim Murray....... Thanks Tim!!!!!! Hey Terry, get this shot straightened out A--SAP
  6. So what your saying is.....there's a chance
  7. Did I offend? I must have since something was said.......good......:P Carry on!
  8. He did, more than several times, his name is __________ (insert Kulikov, Franson, Gorges, Nelson)
  9. Kulikov gone then. Meh, at least Murray plugged the void.
  10. Smith nets a 2nd from NY. Mike Weber just signed but Minny. Unless other WC teams do something significant, Minny looks poised for its run.
  11. Kane 50% retained and Fasching for Vatanen and Ritchie. Anaheim gets their scoring LW for this years and next Cup run. Afterall, you yourself pointed out age for them, and I agree. Getzlaf and Perry 31 and Kesler 32 their window is right now. Is General Manager Bryan Murray cognizant of his situation and is he willing to go for it now, or wait another year for all in? Because honestly, the Eaves add isn't enough, and teams are loading up.
  12. Is it just me, or does it seem like the east just loaded up for a gunfight while the west is sitting idly by and watching? I mean, I expected teams like Calgary, Nashville and Anaheim to go for it.
  13. Wow, for a rental Shatty? Well, if it's Washington they are stacked.
  14. Wow! Jim Bennings diabolical plan is working........:D
  15. I'll take "plug the fax machine in" for 500 Alex........
  16. Vancouver Canucks ✔ @Canucks "I'm not done for the day. I have some calls to make and if deals make sense for us, we're going to do them." - Benning https://mobile.twitter.com/Canucks/status/836353165226233856?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw
  17. Anthony Duclair available from yotes according to Lavoie. Isn't this the same Duclair that played wing for Reinhart?
  18. LOL, dang it Randall, ruining the fun :P It isn't. I don't think anyways. But I wad waiting for the reactions.....we have to have something to chuckle at afterall.... Not sure if it is him actually. A friend in Detroit passed it along to me.
  19. My sources just told me talks are heating up regarding a James #RealDeal Neal for Evander Kane trade. Wow. #Confirmed Mike Commodore https://mobile.twitter.com/commie22/status/836334048075116545?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet
  20. A lot going on right now. Burrows to Ottawa in the works. Minny and Arizona just traded again for Pukineen. Minny clears a contract slot. Quincy out of Detroit may be on the move today.
  21. Greg McKegg claimed by Tampa. I love that name :D
  22. If it were that easy to do, it would have been done. Also, the team is not closer than many think. We still have 2 or 3 rookie wingers and Rodriguez and Carrier that will need a season to truly click. The turnover rate will still be decent.
  23. There have been some poor decisions on defensemen. Specifically I question Tim Murray's acumen on talent for existing players. Let's review. Zach Bogosain 5.14 aav, 3 yrs Dmitry Kulikov 4.33 aav, UEFA Josh Gorges 3.90 aav, 1 yr Cory Franson 3.33 aav, UFA That is 16.70 aav on 4 of the 6 roster D men that have these numbers: Bogosain 36 games, 1g, 5a, -11 Kulikov 36 games, 1g, 1a, -15 Gorges 46 games, og, 3a, -4 Franson 55 games, 3g, 13a, -2 McCabe is a +2 in 57 games, surprising really. Risto is a -6 in 62 games but he had bore the bulk of minutes by a country mile, also surprising given the performance of the team season long. We could point out the significant decencies in the bottom 6 forwards as well, but the fulcrum of starting this thread was and is the severity with which the defensive core of this team has completely failed. Those personnel decisions were made by Tim Murray. So, the obvious questions to me are as follows: Are the scouts/personnel talent advisers incompetent or just very poor at their jobs? Did Tim Murray gamble and lose with the defensive ranks of this team, while knowing it was an extremely big gamble? As to moving forward, there is an obvious empty cupboard outside of Guhle of any immediate help showing up next season. There appears to be no known move of Kane to address the situation. Especially puzzling given the overall Kane/Bogosain trade and the depletion of assets for that deal. I believe as a fan and supporter of the team that it is more than fair to question the leadership of this rebuild, point out it is faltering in key areas and discuss whether Tim Murray is the right individual for the job given his performance to date.
