GDT: Jets @ Sabres 1/12/2023, 7pm, MSG 📺, WGR 📻

Failure to clear the frontbof the net, yet again Failure to maintain puck control entering the zone, yet again Failure to win puck battles, yet again Where are the fast skating, stick deking Sabres we saw in Dec? -
Jeff Marek believes Portillo will test free agency.
Scottysabres replied to Buffalonill's topic in The Aud Club
Much ado about nothing. The current rules provide he can do this if he so chooses. A player, just like an organization, should be looking out for what they deem is in their best interests. I have 0 issue with any player choosing such a direction. You want this to change? Then the Sabres organization must build a "long term", I say again, "long term" environment of success whereby players view Buffalo as a desired destination. That starts with "winning culture", both on the ice as well as how relationships between players and the organization are executed. The adage "Lead by example" never rang truer than in this subject matter. -

My God do they look horribly bad tonight. With the red hit Kraken tomorrow to boot? This looks to be shaping up to be a bad bad week for the team. Wonder what the deal is, why the lack of energy across the roster? -

Must Win! Go Sabres!!! -
There's also no good reason to heave interceptions right to wide open defenders as often as he does. Accountability starts in the mirror.

Pull the starters, let New England in, because I have 0 confidence against Miami given their 2 great receivers.
-
I question that. At least, in this game.

Need guys that can clear the front of the net. -
Sad. I'm hopeful for a full recovery.

Just play the game the following week

Is Tage Thompson a top 10 NHL player? Is he top 5?
Scottysabres replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
Top 5 for sure. He doesn't need the defensive play numbers when he's putting up offensive numbers like this. Throw in the "clutch" factor, and ya, Tage Thompson is a top 6 player in the league currently. -
Yes, yes I have. Not only over the past 2 games, but I've watched them both since they both arrived in Buffalo respectively.

Your equating height to weight, or body mass. Being tall doesn't equate to the ability to use body mass for puck protection/control, or the ability to clear the front of the net. I respectfully disagree with your assessment.

Buffalo Bills: Damar Hamlin collapsed and taken to hospital
Scottysabres replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Very relieved he is stabilized. Even if still critical, that's a good sign. -
Body movers, players on the front end that can use their weight to win physical battles, puck battles. Players on the back end that can use their body to separate the opponent from the puck, successfully clear the front of the net.

I respectfully don't agree. The Sabres need high energy, fast skating, beef. They already score plenty enough, what they lack is a sprinkling of the above mentioned, both on the front as well as the back end. Just my 2 pennies.
