  1. To the bold, agree. To the underlined - did he though? I guess we have to determine the baseline. What I saw was a few blown opportunities for break aways with poor passing, getting outshot and out chanced. Especially in the high danger areas. The snippet is from Natural Stat Trick for 5v5 stats. All Centers for last nights game. The only positive numbers were from Tage's line. Shocking right? While the Cozens line struggled, and to your point had their minutes reduced, they still had a better xGF% than the Mitts line. I mean he wasn't awful on FL#1 the last three, but Skinners return was noticeable.
  2. Proud to be at both games. My first game ever was Miami. The Jets game I was on the field in the middle of the pandemonium.
  3. Absolutely. Calgary did what Buffalo failed to do, and kill a 4 minute penalty in OT / 4 on 3. Gutsy PK.
  4. And the Patriots have an outside chance to win the division if they win their last five and Buffalo loses their last three. Both scenarios are unlikely. More probable than not that the Pats lose at least 3 of those 5.
  5. Sabres Corsi was 58 v. Pitt. 42 but high danger chances were 14 to 6 in the Pens favor. Guess we know what drives Moneypuck, as they had the Sabres “Deserved to win” at 33%. Thought it may have been closer. Casey had the best Corsi rating EV (75%) on the Sabres but a low xG 36.7%. Just not getting quality chances. Cozens for example had an xG of 78%. Mitts battled down low and actually won a few, which was surprising but the fact he finds himself having to dig out and battle so often is troubling. Bad start, bad finish. Some good inbetween.
  6. Fitz with 5:30, Clague with eight. Each get maybe 2 minutes in the third. Sabres youth has to provide a spark. Pens are old and a back to back has be tougher for them.
  7. Question. Who has less ice time, Clague or Fitz? And what is the over/under?
  8. Not a fan. He’s average at best and Rob can only serve to bring the whole broadcast down a level. One of the few advantages to living out of town is watching the opposing feed on NHL Centre Ice. Probably watch the Sabres broadcast 30-40% of the time.
  9. How does that compare to his .880 save % this year? I’ve seen him a few times and would be concerned with taking on even half of his $10m AAV. He’s 34 and declining with guaranteed money. What is his motivation?
  10. +1 to that. Gif for emphasis
  11. Did you drop an Along Came Polly reference then leave? If yes, bravo.
  12. You are right, I did. He was 25 and he had signed an extension to carry him into UFA. It may have been the final nail in Marc B’s career as a GM. Dvorak was supposed to be a replacement for 2 gaping holes at center for Montreal. From the limited games I’ve seen has been given the chance to play 2C and has to be considered a disappointment based on his contract and what they gave up to get him. And he’s a different player than Mitts. My money has Savoie as the 3C and Rasmus II as 4C with some UFA additions to fill out the bottom six next year. I’d like to see him moved to Minnesota for Marcus. I’m sure you feel that would be pittance of a return, but time will tell.
  13. Chances for a first? The Blutarsky. Zero point zero. The last 24-year-old with a reasonable AAV to garner a first round pick in return was Kapanen in a 2020 Toronto/Pittsburgh trade. KK had consecutive seasons of 40 points seasons with a positive corsi and plus/minus. He also had 39 Even strength points. Mitts has 3 even strength points. That projects to 11, and that’s IF he can play a full season. Which he has yet to prove. He’s a negative Corsi guy who is weak on the puck in both zones. His comparable is somewhere between Kapanen and Milano, who didn’t receive a QO from the Ducks. Closer to Santino. You’ve always had a bias for this player. Made clear by the tone in your response to John. Followed by the inkling that he hits 50 points this season. By the way, he said he had little value, not zero. But he certainly could, if they hold for one more year.
  14. Didn’t look like it hits the ground.
  15. He did it more than just on his way out. Delta Bravo in the first degree.
