Wow people jump on and off the bandwagons fast here. Two years ago Kyle had a horrible contract, we were stuck with dead money, how could we get rid of him, and now Saint Kyle for captain. He can keep the A, but I still say anything other than Tuch as Captain will be a mistake.
-
He was spectacular but alas not enough. Would have been a better series if he'd stolen this one. Dallas on the other hand has made that Calgary series interesting.

No, I don't just mean fighting, but I've watched them all year, and they don't hit that much. Definitely not big bad Bruins. I think that ended when St. Louis out hit them, basically beat them at their own game, and won the cup on Bruin's ice. They're not soft or anything, but only McAvoy really delivers the bone crushing checks.

Thoughts on an Alternative to the Draft Lottery Format
PerreaultForever replied to Taro T's topic in The Aud Club
Well the Sabres blatantly tanked but we didn't get McDavid so doesn't that prove that it works? I personally don't care if teams want to tank. That's between them and their fans, so I agree we should just give the top pick to the worst team. But the lottery's fine. Unlike the NFL where first rounders usually make the team and impact right away there's still skill and luck in drafting these prospects and top rated picks don't always become top players so it's a different thing entirely. -
That is my understanding as well. Personally I don't care which year. It was satisfying to see Jack fail and be frustrated. Return game to Buffalo was the highlight of the season. We get a better pick than we expected and if they defer it we get a (long) shot at Bedard and a stronger draft so it's win win for us and a solid trade.

Take the "big" out. No Chara, no Miller, no Lucic. I mean they really didn't do anything much in retaliation. Not even a solid hit on Svechnikov. They are definitely a team in decline and maybe that's a playoff spot we can compete for next year with Detroit, the Islanders or whoever. Compared to the Sabres maybe, but are they really tough any more? Not really.
-
More just frustration and maybe payback for the hit on Lindholm I think but these ain't the big bad Bruins. They are slow and not that tough.
-
Yes, and I should have also said - and how hard you hit. A little bump into the boards and a partial head shot that takes a guy out of the game are both counted as 1 hit.
-
Inside. I'm not suggesting it affects his career or anything, but as a person I'm sure when Reinhart gave him a hard time inside he was thinking "what a d..." even if he had to be professional about it and INSIDE it gives him some satisfaction if Reinhart fails. Justifies his critiques, even if it is just to himself. Hence the stat post with no commentary. Let's it speak for itself. Bruins sticking with Ullmark tonight. I suspect they go down 2-0. Personally hoping the Laughs Tampa series gets nastier.
-
I do. I think it's a clear shot at the guy. It's an easy shot, and if Florida bounces back he might regret taking it, but Reinhart dumped on him and now he's taking a shot. I'm amused.
-
and for you statisticians it's rarely about how many hits but more importantly about who you hit and when.
-
I did notice he did not have a good game but wasn't going to take a shot at him (and his supporters) until the whole series went by. He could still rebound and he who laughs last and all that. But kind of funny Harrington is still carrying that grudge.

Brink signed with Philly and played for them.

I don't believe any coach could have changed him. Ego way too big. Also don't think any of these 3 would have gotten good enough with a different coach either. maybe E Rod, but idk, not really thrilled by what he does even with the Crosby influence. I can't think of any kids we gave up on that he could have fixed but it might have been interesting to see if he could have fixed Montour here. He's done alright in Florida. Wish we'd never dumped Lazar. He's a solid 4th liner and don't get me started on Marcus Foligno.
-
maybe DeSmith isn't our answer in goal? Chucky playing that old time playoff hockey for Calgary. Wish we had one of them on our roster. Nashville ain't much without their goalie. But Florida, oh my.
-
idk how many are old enough to remember this, but they started as a sort of prog rock band with a couple of ex members of Santana I think. I saw them at an outdoor Emerson Lake & Palmer show where they were the opening act and it started off fine, keyboard driven rock(ish) tunes I don't really remember and then they went "we want to introduce our new lead singer" and suddenly that audience went wtf is this? Who knew that new version would become mega stars.

Don Granato and Kevyn Adams End of Season Press Conferences
PerreaultForever replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Nothing in there really surprised me. Glad to hear they do not plan to trade away those draft picks. No Murray style quick fixes. That's good. The idea that they will try to talk Anderson into coming back and going with a UPL/Anderson starting combo is however, troubling, and could easily lead to another season out of playoff contention. Building slow and steady with a young core is a good idea. Building too slowly can lead to another culture of accepting losing as the norm. It's time to win. GET A GOALIE!!!!!!!! -
I don't. I see him the other way around. He had a chance to be a leader. He was here first. He could have tried to lead Jack, but he let Jack lead him. He needed to be away from Jack to excel and so they hit the road at the same time. We are better off without them. Close the door. (I didn't take note of this at the time but it seems fitting now in hindsight, Sam had to peddle harder and Jack was happy to coast along for the ride. Fitting.)

Ullmark's a great guy and apparently a great team mate. Other players really like him too. He's just an average goalie though. The big question was would he be one of those guys that elevates his play in the playoffs and the answer here was he wasn't. He was the same. Average.

Still not much out there but I did stumble upon this little nugget. maybe it was posted earlier idk, but this Sharks graphic for the Knights is priceless and brilliant. https://vegashockeynow.com/2022/04/28/vhn-daily-wrap-eliminated-and-everybody-hates-the-golden-knights/ (Also note in the article Cody Eakin made the top 5 for best hair in the NHL. Congrats. )

I personally don't want any of that any more. Time to turn the corner and stop future building and start winning now. I wouldn't be surprised if we stayed near cap floor but I'd rather overpay a goalie and a defenseman to get there rather than taking on some dead weight/contract for another extra draft pick or something.
