Disappointed, going to have to be better, we are not as far away as some people think, there will be some changes, we will be better next year...............did I miss anything?

I don't blame any of the coaches, including Nolan. The failure of this team is solely on the GMs. Bad free agent signings and terrible drafts. Simple as that. It actually defies the odds as to how badly Murray drafted. Anyone who doesn't believe it's all about bad drafts, count the number of decent players in the league that were drafted by the Sabres playing anywhere. Now compare that tiny number to any team that has drafted well. There isn't a coach in existence who could turn this pile of rubbish into a cup contender. Just got to hope JBot does better.

I think it's fair to say that Pouliot likely expected to be moved to a contender as a depth forward at the deadline (and should have been). When he wasn't, he pretty much quit on the rest of the year.I would guess a number of them were hoping that would happen.

If he was a leader he wouldn't have said what he said publicly. but with those comments, he's no longer "neutral" he is not what you want moving forward.

Yes, I agree. I do not like him and Chad whining AFTER the season. Where was the leadership DURING the year when it might have mattered? Where is the example for the kids? No, you either shut up publicly or you shoulder responsibility and advocate harder work. I think he wants out, and I would make that happen if I was JBot.

Eichel. I think that is the only piece definitely in place. JBot will move anyone else if he gets the return he wants. Having said that, I think he will try to move as much as he can.

Both Nash's and Carlo. The rest are back, but I don't know if they are 100%. The Rick Nash trade looks like a huge deadline bust for them.

I'm sorry, but ROR has not won at the pro level. What did he do when Murray gave him the huge overpriced contract? Got drunk and crashed his car into a Tim Horton's. What a leader! No, he can go along with his losing lost my love of hockey attitude.

I'm sorry, but Chad has never been a good goalie. A few hot streaks in his career as a career back up. Calgary ditched him and they had goalie issues. We should have traded him to Vegas or Pittsburgh back when they both had injury problems. Tank goalie. Bye Chad, have fun in the KHL or Swiss league. If Chad is our goalie next year we will be dead last again.

Maybe most people don't see it the same, but I think JBot planned all this. He's smarter than Murray, but this was a tank year, they just disguised it well cause they knew there is no way they could sell the idea to this fan base again. I have to believe this to have hope for the future. Housley was chosen to coach Dahlin. It's possible Eichel was in on it too. He will be named captain. There is no other choice, he has the contract and this is his team going forward. Top 10 scorer next year if healthy, mark my words. ROR wants out, and they will move him. HE IS A LOSER. His attitude may very well be contagious. Talented, but a loser all the same. Not even sure Lehner was hurt at the end but he will be gone too. I firmly believe this team will be all youth and speed next year and we will look very much like the Leafs did last year. Well on our way to a turnaround. Unless we lose the lottery yet again............

Looked tired against Florida. Speed of the Laughs should win out. Don't care though. If this was old hockey Pitt/Philly would be fun, but it's not, so Penguins will destroy them with the PP. Still think Nashville over Tampa in the final barring major injuries that can change everything.

Maybe the core, or key elements of this team, are uncoachable. Maybe. They certainly didn't improve over the course of the season. We aren't like Florida that started slow and ended upwards. We started as disorganized crap and we ended as disorganized crap. Does anyone actually think this roster looks promising for the near future at all?

Hell no, the fantasy is we take the Bobby Ryan contract and throw them a few draft picks, that's it. Not giving them anything AND eating that contract. Tavares I would give the money. Okposo had his best season playing with him. Even Moulson had a good year on his wing. Makes everyone you put beside him better. One of the most underrated stars in the league. But no way does he seriously consider coming to us. If there is a rumor, it'll just be a negotiating tactic like we've seen before.

Here's one for the fantasy world. Win the lottery, draft Dahlin. Make a deal with Ottawa for Karlsson by taking on the Bobby Ryan contract. Now imagine a D with the Housley system where Karlsson and Dahlin are your first pair and Risto and Scandella are your second...............................

Well ya, we do need everything. Absolutely true. Gets kind of depressing to think in those terms though.

I said no earlier but now I'd say maybe they are worst ever. Don't see much silver lining on this season unless we get Dahlin.

He was that good, but I doubt it. We would lose many a game 1-0 or 2-1. Better in shootouts though, if we managed to get to them. Dahlin changes everything, but it is still a lottery.

Most improved? I dunno, I guess Nelson but really does it matter? So many disappointments. Too many. Big one for me was Ullmark. Honestly, he didn't look that great and if he isn't, well we don't have a goalie. Jordan Nolan's been a huge disappointment. I thought he might bring a little fire and physicality that would rub off on others but he was just disinterested most of the time. DesLaurier wasn't any good, but he was better for Montreal than Nolan was for us. Eichel still has a only plays when he wants to attitude so that's huge too. I think he'd be good on a winner, but no way is this kid going to be a leader. I was trying to give different answers from the previous, but heck, just say everybody and everything.

Good wheels on him. Went to the open areas often enough so got some chances, but also showed a complete lack of ability to handle the puck and totally missed on a perfect set up. Personally, I think it best to consider this pick a bust and move one, if he surprises great, but it is a long long long shot at best. but also this team displays such total lack of organization/team work on the ice that who can really tell what anybody is supposed to be doing at times. ERod passing to the point which Scandella had already vacated and Scandella dropping it for Mittelstadt who had no idea it was going to happen and then fell on his butt trying to turn back for it giving Ottawa a clear break, well those are plays that sum up the year and the state of the franchise.

Well you don't call up Porter to have him sit do you? Sit anyone from your 4th line. Any veteran really. Doesn't matter. Not like they actually want to win the last games is it.

I would like to see Risto, Scandella, Guhle and 3 guys not currently on this roster. Until McCabe falls to #6 on the depth chart this D will still not be good enough.
