  1. I could see Philly exploring this trade more than Winnipeg but I don't see them parting with Coutourier or Provorov. Nolan is an underachiever with a head injury, not sure you want to roll the dice on him. I have no idea how this trade might look. They might want to dump Van Riemsdyck's salary. Farabee is a guy I'd like to see coming our way. Maybe Konecny. In a multi package.
  2. Just be glad the Bruins didn't draft him or you'd be really annoyed.........
  3. So you still don't want to draft him?
  4. Already better than Colin Miller. I still say he's the pick I want us to make.
  5. Well once upon a time they did trade Gretzky so anything is possible, but I'd say the odds of it are all but zero. They may however, rethink their direction and philosophy of building around him and Draisaitl.
  6. I'd say it actually makes it harder to build a team with them in a cap era (unless you cheat like Tampa).
  7. Ya, they are not looking good at all.
  8. There's no argument that it's better if they get along, and they usually do as GMs tend to pick their guys, I'm just not sure it's essential. All speculative anyway. I don't actually have any idea why Gallant got fired, I just know he creates winners and gets max. talent out of his roster. Absolutely. Always better if everybody's on the same page as they like to say.
  9. I don't see why GMs and coaches actually have to work together. You state a vision of expectation, as in this is the way we want this team to play. This style. Then you draft and trade for players who fit that style and the coach is expected to win games. He doesn't he's fired. No reason the two have to be buddies.
  10. This Florida series is disappointing. I expected more fireworks, more physicality from Florida. Their goaltending has been poor, and watching this Kucherov thing is annoying. League's cap rules are a joke. I'm really starting to hate this Tampa Bay Cheaters team.
  11. I think that's it with Gallant. He doesn't play nice with owners and/or GMs. Probably not unlike old Ted Nolan that way. Probably why Pegulas would never hire him too. They like yes men.
  12. Canada vs. U.S. is on TSN Sunday 1:00 Buffalo time.
  13. Totally agree. Gallant has been my preferred choice since he was fired by Vegas.
  14. Ya definitely. That's why after Murray I was saying hire somebody from the Bruins organization and then again after JBot I said the same. That team has a culture and a team dynamic second to none and should be copied. They aren't always the best team, but they truly function like that cliche "band of brothers" and it elevates them every year. Fantastic community stuff too. They are a model franchise. Likely, it all comes down from Cam Neely. His style, his attitude, his work ethic. If we would put a guy like Rick Dudley in a similar top position maybe we could become similar.
  15. Yup. When you put everything on one or two superstars they're easier to be shut down by teams that know how to play team D. Perhaps the idea of trading Eichel for 3 or 4 good players isn't as terrible a concept as some think.
  16. Watching the playoffs tonight, Ovi looked pretty old and past his prime.
  17. Washington looked old and tired tonight.
  18. I'm not a Boudreau fan, but probably better than an unproven college guy.
  19. Is he? Two Stanley Cups, Gold medals, and wasn't he an almost Conn Smyth winner? Anyway, I guess maybe he's underrated but not really.
  20. Exactly. Which is why the Sabres should not be trying to emulate/follow their model .
  21. I liked the guy, except for the diving.
  22. I'm guessing. If he went to Winnipeg he'd be staring right in the face of Eichel vs. McDavid constantly and he's not going to come out #1 in that and I don't think that sits well with him now and will be worse if he goes there. Also, he's fine with Buffalo as a city. Everyone knows he'd rather be a Bruin but he's still relatively close to home, family, what he knows and likes. You think he'd be happy going up to another small market great white north nowhere land? I do not think so. I mean maybe these guys would go anywhere for their money but Winnipeg can't be anywhere near where he'd like to be. and it's 50 below in the winter............... But maybe he could start a band, although both of these guys moved 🙂
  23. I don't know if dysfunctional is the right word, but it does perhaps speak to how they become okay with losing, lack effort, and don't pull together as a team. It runs deep, and thus is the reason I firmly believe a reset is the only answer, and that's not guaranteed success, but not resetting is certain to fail.
  24. Hope you're wrong. 50 below.
  25. Taylor Hall's goal was agonizingly a thing of beauty. The bastard! Carolina is impressive. Playoff hockey is fun.
