  1. I am sad. He proved he could be a solid center for us, and we wasted this when we really needed it.
  2. Didn't I read that the reports say he's training & back on the ice?
  3. He played soft because he didn't hit people/fight? Big dudes could not take Vanek off the puck, nor could they remove him from the front of the net. I don't call that "soft"
  4. I was about to post the same thing. I think he is uniquely qualified to understand “culture” better than most
  5. If I had to bet one way or another, I'd bet on it.
  6. Add Hasek to the list Seriously? Being in the league MVP conversation isn't being committed to the solution? Respectfully, this sounds like nonsense.
  7. Call me cynical, but I think this is purely 1. a PR campaign, and 2. a contract negotiating tactic/way to cover themselves I believe it has zero implications, as far as the Eichel situation is concerned. If they can't get people like Reinhart/Ullmark signed for the amount/term the team wants, and they end up trading them, it's because "they didn't want to be here"
  8. Karmanos's and Ventura's FO resumes speak for themselves. My point was that Adams's experience as a player in the locker room may give him a unique perspective on intangibles as a GM, which can be supplemented by what Kamanos and Ventura bring to the table.
  9. I had also been thinking/hoping this. Although Adams's player acquisitions/roster-building aptitude are still a bit of a question mark, we do know that he was actually in a Stanley Cup-winning locker room. From that perspective, theoretically, he can keep an eye on the "intangible" part of the team as a unit, and let Karmanos and Ventura assemble the roster strategically. As far as intangibles go, I find it interesting that it was rumored he wanted Jack out from the get-go.
  10. Andy Roddick tweeted this is one of the best matches he's ever seen (and that was during the 3rd set breaker). Vamos Rafa!
  11. I wish the franchise and the fanbase would have realized this 10 years ago #stillmadaboutthetank
  12. This would be poor risk management by the Sabres. If the surgery is not successful (including complications due to the nature of playing a high-impact sport), the NMC is the least of there worries.
  13. This may just be me being a homer, and I'm sure others have said/thought this, but I think Eichel's game will translate better to the playoffs than McD's
  14. Yeah, I only watched last night, and I'm just curious what's kept them from "breaking through." Do you think they just need to tweak things?
  15. He was on a line with Draisaitl all night, but your point is taken.
  16. Is McDavid regularly neutralized in the playoffs by teams that play heavy? That's what last night looked like.
  17. The piece says Eichel still wants surgery, and the Sabres may not approve. If you're inferring they won't approve because they prefer one type of surgery over another, with respect, that's quite a leap. The only place I see the other type of surgery mentioned is in the Johns Hopkins description of the new technique, compared to the old one.
  18. Not sure if he has the ability to override the physician, but he does have the power to hire a physician who agrees with his preferred course of action.
  19. ?Can you please point to where you found this information?
