does anyone think this will move the needle as far as the trade/potential return goes? Really hoping it is just noise as far as the front offices go, although it seems it was clearly intended to have an affect on that. I'm amazed people here on these forums think that the statement was meant for us. Like those people who think the news anchor is talking directly to them, personally.

Call me cynical, but I think this is purely 1. a PR campaign, and 2. a contract negotiating tactic/way to cover themselves I believe it has zero implications, as far as the Eichel situation is concerned. If they can't get people like Reinhart/Ullmark signed for the amount/term the team wants, and they end up trading them, it's because "they didn't want to be here"

Karmanos's and Ventura's FO resumes speak for themselves. My point was that Adams's experience as a player in the locker room may give him a unique perspective on intangibles as a GM, which can be supplemented by what Kamanos and Ventura bring to the table.

I had also been thinking/hoping this. Although Adams's player acquisitions/roster-building aptitude are still a bit of a question mark, we do know that he was actually in a Stanley Cup-winning locker room. From that perspective, theoretically, he can keep an eye on the "intangible" part of the team as a unit, and let Karmanos and Ventura assemble the roster strategically. As far as intangibles go, I find it interesting that it was rumored he wanted Jack out from the get-go.
