XGMTM was suppose to be known for his drafting. We were told he had an eye for scouting. I had visions of him with a Tim's cup in a broken down arena in Rural Ontario watching junior kids nobody had ever herd of. Fact is for the picks he had it's very disappointing the results thus far. Under his watch I'm not counting Jack as that was obvious (though I thank him for trading our goaltenders to ensure last place) the only bright spots might be Guhle who could turn into a player and I'm still holding out for Pu. Still time for some of these kids to develop but absolutely nobody vastly outperforming their draft spot.

Just stopped in to say this might be the best game they've played all year. The second had to have been the best period. Yes, I know Ottawa is a dumpster fire right now but they actually looked like they were trying and skating hard. Sadly they don't seem to do that every game. Anyways, 6 points over the last 4 games will have me watching most games not on fast forward.

Good thread Wildcard. I use to check this board atleast a half dozen times a day (even during the summer). Now I'm lucky if I log on once. It's the hope for a bright future that is lost on me. Sure I love the thought of what Casey can do but I've been burnt before. With the draft lottery system it could easily be 4th or 5th the Sabres select which is not enough to wow me. I donno, I've got tickets for another 5 games this year and will go but the hope is lost on me. I find myself fast forwarding through atleast half of the games which never happened in the past, including the tank years....
