If I remember right the Yankees and Blue Jays were against this happening also because they both thought we'd be infringing on their territory.
-
Didn't they just get swept by the Astros?? So I fixed it for you.
-
This is my top choice as well it will all depend on if the injury hurts his standing or not.
-
Zegras?? Yes that's what we need another 160 pound forward on the team and although I don't think Dach will be there at 7, why would we want a big kid at forward?? Yikes.

Per Botterill: Sabres have relieved Phil Housley of his Coaching Duties
jsb replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
I'm surprised that anybody was surprised PH was relieved of his duties. I did advocate for him before the hiring but it won't be the last time I'm wrong. -
The only hope for this trade is if in the long run ROR has a major drop off at the end of his contract and TT becomes a good middle 6 winger. What kills this trade for me and I understand the Pegula possible influence but the giving up the higher draft pick of the final 2 was another lousy negotiation on Botts' part. Top 19, really, he couldn't negotiate that trade any better than that??
-
If HCPH doesn't lose his job, I'm not much for conspiracy theories but I may be in to listening to this was a pre-planned, unannounced TANK to get another high draft pick. And if this is the case, I'm all in on firing both Botts and Housley if they're not considerably better than the drivel they were in January thru March. This was nothing short of a complete collapse for the entire rest of the season after the winning streak. PH seemed completely clueless in stopping the carnage. If you want to call it a sacrifice to the masses go ahead but he's gotta go. On a side note, is Flagg coming back?? Is anybody in contact with him, that may know?

Normally I agree with most of your posts but if you're not going to grade these guys with the same scale, why grade them at all. It's like giving someone a curve on their test but not giving the same curve to those who had a higher score. Anyone who grades ERod over Jack and Skinner, I stopped paying attention there. I'm not as critical as Doohickie but except for a handful of guys, D is the best grade I'd give anyone.

Brawndo with the early morning entry today. Sabre info and I'm trying to stay optimistic with this. GO SABRES This is the 140th game all-time between Buffalo and Detroit; Buffalo has a 62-59-18 series record. The Sabres are 38-20-10 at home against the Red Wings all-time. THIS DATE IN SABRES HISTORY The Sabres are 11-10-4 all-time on March 28. March 28, 1982: Fred T. Hunt and Tim Horton are both posthumously inducted into the Buffalo Sabres Hall of Fame. The pair became the fourth and fifth members, joining Roger Crozier, Frank Christie and Punch Imlach. March 28, 1999: Alexei Zhitnik scores the 8,000th goal in franchise history in a 4-3 overtime win at home against Pittsburgh. Reasons to be Optimistic on Sabres D Through his first 14 games with the Sabres, Brandon Montour has recorded seven points (2+5), tying Jack Eichel (5+2) and Conor Sheary(4+3) for most points during that stretch. Six of his seven points as a Sabre (2+4) have come at even strength. According to NaturalStatTrick.com, Montour’s CF%, FF% and SCF% during 5-on-5 play through 14 games with the Sabres top his full-season rates in each of those categories from both of his first two NHL seasons, as well as his rates through 62 games with Anaheim this season. In these 14 games, Montour has also seen a drastic uptick in scoring rates in goals (.47), assists (.71) and points (1.18) per 60 minutes played at 5-on-5 compared to his rates from the last two seasons. Entering play Wednesday, Rasmus Dahlin led rookie defensemen and ranked third among all NHL rookies in points (41). His 33 assists ranked second among all rookies. With seven multi-point games so far this season, Dahlin has recorded more multi-point games as an 18-year-old than all but two defensemen in NHL history: Housley (13) and Orr (8). Dahlin’s three game-winning goals this season are the most ever recorded by a Sabres rookie defenseman. His total also ties for ninth-most by any Sabres rookie and eighth-most in a season by any defenseman in franchise history. And the biggest news of the day is Dan Bylsma returns to Buffalo as a Red Wings assistant coach LETS GO BUFFALO

Movies / TV Shows - I Have Watched / Plan To Watch
jsb replied to Sabres Fan in NS's topic in The Aud Club
I just finished season 1, I'm trying to hang in there because you were correct on a few other shows BUT I'm still awaiting the outstanding other than a highlight or 2 once in awhile. Although the boy walking in on them during the opener of season 2 did bring back some not so fond memories. That boy will never be the same no matter how much they deny it. You never forget your first time even if its mom and dad doing it. -
This is where I have my major disconnect with you. It's not necessarily the Dmen that are bad but the team defense that includes and is mainly the fault of the forwards. Example, the Montreal game, Reinhart flubs a pass, doesn't hustle back and the Canucks are on a odd man rush SCORE, Casey doesn't take out the body, gets turned around, odd man rush SCORE, Bogo has the puck handler, Risto ties up his man, Eichel loses touch with his man, pass to Eichel's man, one timer SCORE, Dahlin falls down in the corner, Sobotka (I don't know what he was thinking or doing) gets turned around, pass out to slot SCORE. None of those 4 that I can think of off hand are the D's fault but are the fault of the Team Defense falling apart by our supposedly best players (discounting Sobotka) for easy goals. You can add Girgensons who gets beat, takes a stupid slashing penalty and the Canucks score on the PP. Again none of them are the fault of the Dmen but of the forwards Fn up. I'm not saying we have the worlds greatest D but a majority of the issues are with the forwards making mistakes or not covering their responsibilities.

As so often happens in these tournaments it's who you play and when. UB a very offensive talented team runs across probably for the first time this year a veteran very talented defensive team with length. They didn't handle it well and Tech also had a slight home court advantage playing in Tulsa Ok. Great season for UB but it also may have been the first time I ever cheered against a Buffalo team in my lifetime, son graduated from T.Tech. I think this is the first time in their history that they've reached the final 16, 2 years in a row.

Filling in for your favorite player Bogo
-
Well to start, Eichel now is better than he was, Reinhart is better than he was, Skinner is better than Kane, Dahlin is better than anybody on the left, Risto has more experience than before, Bogosian has played more games, and as bad as you want to say these guys are playing, Scandella, B/P/N and Montour are better than Franson, Falk, Gorges and Kulikov. I have to go back to work now, otherwise I'd elaborate further.

Speaking of Woof!! This guy is woofing too much and is woofing down his food and is getting too woofing big. 2 months.... 3 months...... 5 months

My change of heart on Housley is mainly because in the almost 2 years he's been here, the team is not or doesn't appear to be progressing. After a promising start, we've just tanked the year. As for the talent on the team, no not the greatest but if you compare DDB's squad to this years squad, there is no possible reason DDB gets fired and tar and feathered and Housley gets a pass. Here's the lineup in DDBs final year and this years, no way you can tell me the squad hasn't been upgraded it is just a fact especially the Defense. 2016-17 2018-19 Forwards GP Forwards Eichel 61 Eichel ROR 72 Skinner Reinhart 79 Reinhart Okposo 65 Okposo Kane 70 Sheary Gionta 82 Pominville Moulson 81 Rodrigues Foligno 80 Mittelstadt Girgensons 75 Girgensons Ennis 51 Sobotka Larsson 36 Larsson Deslauriers 42 Thompson Carrier 41 Berglund Defensemen Ristolainen 79 Ristolainen McCabe 76 Dahlin Franson 68 Bogosian Bogosian 56 McCabe Falk 52 Scandella Gorges 66 Beaulieu/Pilut/Nelson Kulikov 47 Montour

Housley must be really ticked off at those 2 to stick them with Sobotka
-
Bogosian haters eat doo doo, he's playing awesome today
