GDT - Sabres @ Wild - December 16, 2021 - 8 PM (EST) - MSG-B and WGR

We get to see that freaky little bastird again. Ink and I love him. -
I say no one gets brought up till they are ready to be brought up. Bringing any player up just because they appear better that what is on the parent club is not good development. Let the battles for positions start this spring or sooner because of injuries. Earn it then and earn it again in camp next summer.

I have no problems with another Kyle on this team. None. Many have been harping on vet leadership being KA's biggest need to fill with all the younginz about to arrive. If he leads as well as Kyle then he's worth more than any fancy stat bar graph will show. -

Line options... T.O.G. Tuch, Kyle, Zemgus Just like LOG but with the ability to score consistently. It would be our third line with 1/2 line minutes. -
So your saying that a goalie rising up through the ranks that plays hard for his skaters and who's skaters battle for him is given a better chance to succeed with the *mother club* than an outsider coming in ? Also, now that he has been traded that *bond* must form again with his new team as part of the goalie/skater psychology because a lot of being a goalie is mental? I can't answer that, seems logical though.

Have not watched many highlights with Samuelson in it, thank you for sharing. Holy crap is he big. You see that stats and think he's big, but then to see him on the ice.... sweeeeeet.
-
I read that as Adams plan has worked on the Pegulas (as in they bought in). I'm not sure anyone here with the mental capacity to type believes the Pegulas could come up with a solid hockey plan.
-
Right now he is top dog playing all the minutes and helping his team and gaining confidence. That is exactly what Rochester was doing for him. He stays till that no longer applies with the Sabres. They won't send him down to tank, they will send him down if they believe he needs to be sent down for said reasons. I don't believe he has the mental where with all to go the rest of the season here in Buffalo, very few young goalies do. He has been a joy to watch and I hope he plays this way every game for another decade.

Do the Sabres actually need more RHD or does it not matter?
woods-racer replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
To the bolded. I'm sure KA and JK see what we are seeing. It's not the future to them either and this is a learning experience for both players this year. So what are they trying to teach them now (when the score and wins don't matter) that they see is a future necessity? Down a goal late in the third in the spring of 2023 and we need that tying goal get give us a playoff birth. Who are your 2 *niffty-est* d-men that give you a great chance to get it? That's what I think we are seeing. It's that, or they figure they will be the only 2 still playing here in the spring of 2023 and want them to spend quality time together. -
Compared to previous games those shot totals are vastly reduced. That would put them below league average with those stats. The reality is they are much above league average on shots against. League average shots against is 847 and we sit at 907. 42 shots on goal against is not bad for this team.
-
They switched up their game plan (went to a defensive style of play) in order to not leave the neophyte goalie out to dry. That is counter productive to their long range goals. If they send him down it's because he should be sent down, not totally because of his play.
-
I have to believe Kyle has the respect of many players through out the league. Send him. He has the moral fortitude to be a great representative of what KA is trying to build.

Is Don Granato the best coach the Sabres have had since Lindy Ruff?
woods-racer replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
This video was released on Youtube in September 2020. Don explains how he coaches and what he needs to teach in order to have a successful team. Offense is hard to learn at advanced levels is his main point. They need to learn it and they will make mistakes trying. He's walking his talk this year... @Gatorman0519 found this video shortly after he was named Head Coach. -
NHL is going to try to back out of the Olympics.
woods-racer replied to Eleven's topic in The Aud Club
Wasn't planning on watching. The Olympics are no longer (and haven't been for decades) the best of amateur athletes. It's nothing more than one big commercial with a political narrative that makes the hosting channel the most amount of money. If it's canceled I could care less. -
He may not want to promote gambling? I thought Murray and Hayden played their best game to date. UPL was outstanding playing the second game of a back-to-back night. I have often pointed out Dahlin's less than stellar playmaking decisions, tonight I thought was one of his best games. I didn't witness any bad give-aways and he was making some nice plays and joined the rush on multiple occasions. Edit; Just to add... This was once again a very entertaining game. The Sabres looked good and could have won. The had a lot of energy and pushed play for much of the night. Those that no longer watch out of frustration missed a good game.
-
They are playing well enough to be entertaining. Watching Cozens get better is quite pleasant to watch. Watching Tage blossom this year has been fun.

There is also a *groin pull* which is inner thigh. Which would be lower body (?). No idea which (if any) of these he has.
-
Is the groin considered upper body or lower body? Can a groin injury be called either upper or lower body injury? I guess it really doesn't matter, the only thing we know is it's going to be a while before he's back.
