  1. We are still missing 11 NHL players. Pick and choose a few and sprinkle them into the line-up and this team is much different, especially on defense.
  2. This must be a TNT game? I don't see it on ESPN+. edit. Never mind. It's a 7.30 game. It's in really big letters and everything.....
  3. https://www.nhl.com/sabres/news/nhl-postpones-buffalo-sabres-game-montreal-canadiens-january-8-2022/c-329258662 Postponed due to seating restriction in Montreal. Games to be made up as soon as they are lifted.
  4. Good natured ribbing? Absolutely. A snide remark that the poster may have thought to be funny? Quite possible. Calls for Promo to be the next voice of the Sabres? We all have dreams...
  5. If only UPL had the same stats after 12 games as eany does after 12 posts. Well done. Post more.
  6. I never thought of it that way.
  7. The Pegulas are smart enough to know they need help and want a way to have who ever they bring in have more than just a guarantied 3 year contract (no matter what their performance is, see Pat Lafontaine) and have some financial risk. This is one way to do it.
  8. Because in the buy/sell agreement there are stipulations in place that the 250 million buy in allows a certain amount of decision making.
  9. I think they we will go back to a hybrid 20/21 covid team make up and 3 goalies will be allowed. I will bet it starts back right around the start of the New Year.
  10. Sorry, saw the robot gif and just had to.... Thanks for the update. Anderson back on the ice and Tage not being to serious was nice to hear.
  11. Isn't Italian hockey called bocce?
  12. That saddest thing about this team and how gritty it was/is before Casey arrived was it took KO (and only KO) to drop the gloves to stand up for a teammate. KO!!!! The man with the most to lose (his life) needed to be that guy on this team. That's how little grit this team has. All it took was one guy one game to show more grit. Yes, truly pathetic.
  13. Sorry, I'm talking what's in today's line up. I won't project their play in the NHL based on their height and weight. See Casey. Not the biggest but has the most grit on this team. He'll fight someone that cheap shots Dahlin. Something Dahlin won't do for his big ole self. He was also a bottom six in a top 2 role. He could hit and get a little testy, but he couldn't clear the front of the net and was not one to fight for his teammates. So he had some grit, but not enough to account for the rest of his major short comings. Risto's temperament and Dahlin's skill would be generational. I think Philly way over paid for him. To me grit is as much a necessity as skill in the NHL. We may have a lot of skill and some size but we are still severely lacking in grit.
  14. Their stats say they are not but there is no measure for grit on a bar graph. They ain't got grit.
  15. In every league in every sport post junior high this happens. You don't think as 15 year old's' players see the other teams best player get a little shaken on a hit and just let up?
  16. I was hoping the whole time it was a Dell autograph.
  17. That's *ALL* he needed to change. It is a big ALL though because it seemed that those one or two gafs per game lead directly to prime scoring chances going the other way.
  18. Winnipeg Jets Paul Maurice Julia Kreuz Fri, December 17, 2021, 11:18 AMĀ· *Paul Maurice is no longer at the helm of the Winnipeg Jets. The team announced on Friday that Maurice has resigned as Jets head coach, adding that assistant Dave Lowry will serve as Winnipeg's interim coach after Maurice's departure. An emotional Maurice met with the media following the announcement to explain his decision, saying he stepped away because the team needed a new voice.* The loss to the Sabres appears to be the proverbial straw. *Winnipeg's 2021-22 campaign has gotten off to a pedestrian start, with a 13-10-5 record and fifth place in the Central Division. The Jets dropped what ended up being their final game under Maurice on Tuesday, a 4-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres.*
  19. I have been one of his biggest critics this year. He has had some really bad give aways that have ended up in the back of our own net. I believe he single-handedly gave away two games this year. But, never once did I believe that he was the worst defensemen that night let alone our worst player. I will continue to critique his game and call him out when he makes bone head plays. BUT!!!! He is a great young defenseman. He is special. We are watching him grow leaps and bounds this year. Don has been the best thing that could ever happen to him. You have put it to mildly. Not only does he have 3 goals in the last 3 games but he has also been the best skater over that 3 game period.
  20. If you would have told me that on September 15th I would have taken it and been the happiest fan. Entertaining, well coached and fun to watch and a not to distant sniff to the playoffs. More than any one predicted (excluding @The Ghost of Doohickie, the eternal optimist). But I snorted some hope-ium. I haven't yelled at my TV this loud in years. I really think they can make it 4.
  21. I didn't read all the pages of this thread.... So incase it wasn't said.. Casey's Mom has it going on... I'm in love with Casey's play.
